[Help] Can themes add a volume slider?

    Posted: 06 Sep 2021 01:40 AM PDT

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, I apologize if not, but I thought it might be related enough.

I have a Redmi (Note 9T), and coming from long time iOS I noticed that it doesn't have a volume slider in the control center, which means(?) that you can only change volume with the physical buttons. And I find it very frustrating because I barely used to use them (in fear of breaking them (not so much literally physically but more related to ghost inputs) by changing volume a lot constantly).

Can themes add things like that? I tried browsing/looking for quite a few but while they changed the design of some control centers, none seemed to have added features. And if that's not possible, is there any other (relatively easy) way I could have a volume slider? Very new to Android so I don't know much about what can be done/customized. Thanks!

[Discussion] Long time iOS user here; how customisable is Android?

    Posted: 05 Sep 2021 04:22 AM PDT

Hello r/AndroidThemes, it's been about a constant decade of using iPhones and being very involved in the "eco-system", however I'm looking to maybe switch to Android (CalyxOS).

My iPhone is currently jailbroken and one of the things I love and spend most time doing is customising the look of my phone (it's kinda limited given the small community and requirements).

I'm not a developer but I'm just wondering: really how customisable is Android? I understand things have to made in order to be utilised, but has there ever been an instance where you ever wanted to do something on Android (theme/customisation-wise, at least) that there wasn't a solution for? I'd also like to understand how some things work on Android; for example, if I install a volume slider app that lets you customise and change what appears as the volume slider, does that completely disable the native function? Or does it kind of run 'over the top' of the native process (i.e. native process still uses RAM)?

    Thanks for your time.

    [Help] PokeBox style notification boxes

    Posted: 05 Sep 2021 05:33 AM PDT

Is there anything like PokeBox or Pokebar for Android that changes the appearance of the notification boxes? I've been looking, but can't find anything.
