Posted: 03 Aug 2021 10:10 PM PDT I have been digging around for details of when Android 11 TV update was released, but I can only find the official announcement and nothing on it rolling out to consumer devices. I have a Chromecast with Google TV, and I tend to think that if the latest from Google is still on Android 10, probably none out there is on Android 11 TV. So, my question is, did Android 11 TV ever make it to any consumer devices or it's stuck on the ADT-3 dev kit? [link] [comments] |
AndroidTV Watchlist ... so close, yet so far. Posted: 04 Aug 2021 07:26 AM PDT Google FINALLY adds a watchlist to AndroidTV. Hooray! Finally, I can keep track of the shows that I watch! EXCEPT. All it does it display the show that I have added to a watchlist. It does not keep track of unwatched episodes. Lets say that I add Ted Lasso to my Watchlist. It shows up. Great. Then I watch all of the episodes. It should then go away, because in reality, there is nothing for me to watch there. Then, a year from now, season 3 comes out... it should "magically" reappear in my watchlist because I now have something to watch again. And before anyone says it can't be done... many other services do this (Reelgood, WatchAid on AppleTV, etc). Cmon Google. Lets get AndroidTV over the finish line and make it the true hub of the living room entertainment system. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 04 Aug 2021 06:34 AM PDT I currently have a Nvidia Shield that I bought from Amazon back in November 2019 that I overpaid for ($299) and I haven't even used the controller once. I'm having several issues with a few apps and the only way to get it to back working is to restart the device. I'm sure it's the device (it's up to date) and not the apps or the WiFi because I have an older smart TV (Sony that I bought new 6ish years ago now) that when using the same apps it doesn't do this. It's just slow to load up those apps and to navigate through them (which is why I bought the Shield and it was amazing at first before these issues). Football is starting and I don't want to have to restart the Shield through the games but at the same time I don't want to spend a ton of money to have something be flakey like the Shield. I have a Roku stick on my bedroom TV as it's not a smart TV and it's sluggish as well, not as bad as the main Sony TV but enough so that I want something else. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Aug 2021 08:00 PM PDT Does anyone else have an issue where streaming apps like Netflix and Hulu are over riding the home button? It's starting to get annoying when you can't press home and go home because the app asks you if your sure you want to exit. Tonight I had to pull the power on my shield tv because Netflix wouldn't exit when you hit yes. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Aug 2021 09:03 PM PDT I have a Chinese Amlogic Android TV box. I upgraded it from Android 7.1 (tablet version) to Android TV 9 and now I'm contemplating whether I should upgrade it to Android TV 11. Is it worth taking the time to upgrade? What are some must have features that are present in ATV 11 that's worth the upgrade? Also realised ATV 11 comes with the new Discover Ui which I'm not really a fan of but I don't mind changing for a custom launcher. Thank you [link] [comments] |

Good tv box for xbox game pass Posted: 03 Aug 2021 02:23 PM PDT Hello everyone, I have a question to anyone that installed Xbox Game Pass app on their android tv boxes. Does anybody has a good one that it works well? I've installed it on my sony android tv, but the menu part works terrible. Whole app loads about a minute, moving in menu is barely possible, only when I start game, the streaming part works good. I know that this application is not made for tv but for phones and tablets, but I'm just trying to find a temporary solution for cloud gaming through any good working tv box. Perhaps on something like this new chromecast with google tv, nvidia shield or any modern t95 boxes works flawlessly. [link] [comments] |

What determines the bitrate for casting to an Android TV? Posted: 03 Aug 2021 09:06 AM PDT Hello all, I currently own a Chromecast gen 2, and I'm looking to replace it with an Android TV box. As some of you may know, this Chromecast actually has a limited bandwidth, for example streaming sports off DAZN gives a very choppy picture even if the stream is 60fps. So, how can I tell whether a given Android TV box utilized in casting mode is going to suffer from this issue or not? Thank you! [link] [comments] |
