    So I just found out about Smart YouTube TV and as someone with ADHD who has to watch 99% of videos in 2×, absolute god send. I have no clue why playback speed isn't built in or at the very least able to be changed when casting from a phone.

    Anyway, what other apps do you guys deem almost necessary like this?

    Listen to music in the background

    Hello, since this week Tidal no longer works on the inactive screen, (don't know if it's called any other way in English) At least if you choose it directly. When you exit the app, a mini player is displayed, but when you click on it, the app hangs. That doesn't work at all with Plex. As soon as you click the Home button, the app closes. Is there a solution for this? The only app that works is Spotify!

    Movies Anywhere now 4k on Chromecast w/ Google TV!

    Setting a Picture Setting For A Particular Input

    I have a TCL TV with android pie (TCL tvs in my region come with stock android and not roku) , it has many picture settings but PC and Game setting is only available when using external input, i frequently watch movies on my PC connected to TV, but every time i change it to PC and go back to homescreen even once, it changes the mode to Standard, i have to change it to PC every time i change the input, i am unable to find a way around this

    What is the best way to setup Google TV chromecast for retro games

    Got myself a new chromecast with google tv so I can run apps on it.
    Before I only used it for watching movies and series but now that I can run apps I'd like to install some party games. Things like mario party and such :)

    To add to that, I do not own a controller and would like to use my android phone as a controller but have not figured out a good app for this yet.

    So far I have read that retroarch is a good start and I would like to play Mario Party 4 on it using my android phone as controller.

    Is there anyway this is possible?

    Are there any way to install custom OS in my projector Blitzwolf VP-3?

    Hello guys,

    I have the Blitzwolf VP-3 which have Android TV 8 built-in, but the OS version is really crap. So much slow and now Im having an annoying bug which I cant turn it off, its always restarting.

    Anyway, I wish to install custom ROM but Blitzwolf don't offer any support. They already sent me one .bin file with other firmware, the process was to put it in USB root and boot pressing volume down, but this firmware update they provided still really bad and still the bug.

    Google TV Interface different from others

    I installed yesterday my Chromecast Google TV dongle and, don't know why, I don't have the "For you" tab. I have subscription with Netflix, Disney+, Spotify for a long time. As so, no suggested movies and, to watch them, I need to enter in each APP. Some of you have also the same problem? I'm located in Europe, Belgium.

    Amazon Prime playback not working, Google TV

    I tried to watch a movie from Amazon prime through the Google TV app, but an error came up saying about HDMI connection. I then tried to cast from my phone to the TV and it said that the video is unavailable?

    Any help or fixes are welcome!

    How can I select a wallpaper with Woulf Launcher or ATV Launcher Pro in CC GTV?

    I tried Wolf Launcher 0.1.15 from techdoctoruk and ATV Launcher Pro from the Play Store. Same issue with both.

    I don't have this issue with ATV Launcher Free, but that version has several features locked...

    How to change default subtitles in Amazon Prime Video (Google TV Chromecast)

    Ever time I watch a show on my new Google TV chromecast with Amazon Prime Video it always wants to do incidental subtitles in Danish (I think it's danish). Not subtitles all the time, but when important stuff like text on video images or whispering segments that would normally get subtitled without closed captioning. And if I turn on CC it is danish all the time. I can change it in the video player options, but it only lasts through the current viewing session.

    Is there some weird setting I don't know about that has me pranked into danish as a default language? On the amazon website? in the app? on my chromecast?

    Prime Video will load up and show content but as soon as i try to play a video it says "Problem Occurred" and asks to close app

    Very frustrating. I can browse content all day but as soon as i try to play something it does this. All other services work without issue. This happening to anyone else? Anyone know a fix?

    Sling Behavior on Android TV

    I've been streaming sling for years on my Roku. Just got a new Android TV powered Sony TV, so decided to use Sling on the TV. Generally it works fine, however if I launch a different app (Netflix or YouTube, for example) Sling stops working properly.

    When I'm done with the "other" app and go back to Sling, I can move through the menus and everything just fine but when I hit the button to start watching any channel/show, nothing happens. Nothing at all. It's as if I never pressed the button. It's not like it starts to try and play and just doesn't, it doesn't do anything. Guide just sits there smiling.

    I use the menu in the Sling app to exit the app altogether and go back in, but no change. Any show/channel I hit play on doesn't do anything.

    The only way I can get Sling to actually start playing anything again is to do a reset on the TV and let Android TV reboot.

    Anyone else see this??

    Chromecast w/Google TV - Initial Stutters

    Overall, the performance of the new Chromecast is good - with the specific exception of the first few clicks whenever I start using it after a few hours. It lags and stuttered initially, then once it catches up, it's fine for the rest of the use session.

    This is probably not normal, or I would have heard more about it in reviews. It sounds like a RAM problem to me. Is it possible for me to get a memory manager to see what's up?

    RANT: YouTube Music on Google TV doesn't have the Your Music Library strip!

    I have a Shield and the new Chromecast w/Google TV. Same versions of YouTube on both, but only the Shield version has the latest and greatest scrub bar and YouTube Music library features.

    I recognize that Google TV is based on Android TV, and actually not technically Android TV anymore, but don't you find it odd that Google's brand new banner device has an older, less capable YouTube Music experience for all of these new converts who are buying into the Google TV ecosystem now?
