Is there a way to revert back to an older YouTube app build ? Posted: 24 Oct 2020 07:07 AM PDT I have a lower end phone from 2013, and with newer YT app updates video playback has been pretty much crippled. So i was wondering if there is any way to revert back to a older build. Or perhaps there is a 3rd party YouTube app that has a light footprint, enabling smooth video playback on older devices ? Any reccomendations will be appreciated. [link] [comments] |
The TTL Hotspot Trick no longer works for me Posted: 24 Oct 2020 11:19 AM PDT So when I got Doom Eternal for my PC back in March, I knew downloading it was gonna be a huge problem since my ISP (Verizon Wireless) Throttled my hotspot after 20GB with no additional plans available to up that cap to an actually reasonable number. Thankfully, I was able to use the command prompt (cmd) as an admin to change my PC's TTL values to 65, which worked for a couple of months. Now, it doesn't work and my speeds are absolutely terrible, about 30kbps (the k is NOT a typo). Are their any other tricks I can use to help me or is there a way to restore the ttl trick's functionality? I'm using an up-to-date Galaxy S10. [link] [comments] |
Is there a way to let my phone screen turn off while things are still playing from hdmi Posted: 24 Oct 2020 07:55 AM PDT |
Help would be greatly appreciated Posted: 24 Oct 2020 07:00 AM PDT So today may have led me to create decisions that I don't know are good or not. So for the last 2 months google play has been bugged, where I couldn't update chrome, and my apps and games would not show updates (always stuck on error) and installed apps just would not show. I couldn't find any solution. So tried to figure things out. First I tried turning off auto updates. Didn't work. I reset my phone. Didn't work. Cleared cashe. Didn't work. At the same time, I had aptoide on hand. After all this I had checked to see if the Google play store was on it. It was, but I wasn't going to do anything with it. Then i had accidentally updated google play store through aptoide. It was installed through there and if I go to storage or says installed through package installer instead of the play store and I cant check it because it was never on the play store in the first place. So. Is there any way to "remove" my install from aptoide and have it how it was, so it can be updated normally (at least that's the best i can explain it) And how do I fix the update/install issue? Posted: 24 Oct 2020 09:55 AM PDT I know android phones are far from private and collect a lot of data. But I don't have a very high budget and found some phones I really like: Redmi Note 9 Pro, Poco X2 Pro, Poco X3 and Samsung M51. Now redmi and poco come witth MIUI and Android while the Samsung comes with OneUI and Android. Redmi and Poco are significantly cheaper but I don't know the extent to which our data is collected by MIUI/Xiaomi and filled with ads and bloatware. Samsung comes with probably a cleaner UI and I haven't heard of them being as privacy-invading as Xiaomi. So, what should I do? The Redmi Note 9 Pro has all I need at very cheap but comes with shady UI and software. Is there a way to remove the MIUI, ads, bloatware, spyware without voiding the product warranty. I don't want to use custom ROM as it can be risky. Or should I just go with Samsung M51? [link] [comments] |

How to see where an app has downloaded something? Posted: 24 Oct 2020 10:36 AM PDT Hi! I downloaded a twitch vod using an app called "Xtra for Twitch" and it seems to work like the Netflix app. I can see the vod and watch it offline in the app, but I can't find it in my gallery or even in My Files. Can somebody help me find the mp4 (or whatever video format it is)? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Was the ability to set notification sounds for individual apps removed in Android 10 Posted: 24 Oct 2020 09:31 AM PDT I'm wanting to change the notification sound for my messaging app and gmail, but I can't for the life of me find the notification settings for those individual apps. I've tried looking in the notification settings and apps settings in my phone's settings app. Using an S9 running the latest version of Android 10. [link] [comments] |

Snapchat received snaps are 3/4 black and sometimes flicker Posted: 24 Oct 2020 08:41 AM PDT Hey guys, I got a really annoying problem with snapchat and can't find anything on Google... Maybe you can help me: When I receive a snap (only happens with pictures) the bottem 3/4 are black. Only the top quarter shows the image. Normally it very shortly shows the full image at the beginning but that's it. Storys are not affected by this. Any idea how to fix this? Google only shows a problem where the camera stays off called "black screen error" which makes it impossible to Google for this. I tried reinstalling the app, deleting my conversations, rebooting my phone (mate 10 pro, android 10) [link] [comments] |

Posted: 24 Oct 2020 11:37 AM PDT Titles says it all, the site I'm referring to is Youtube, I've been wondering for a while if there is any sort of way to trick the isp into thinking I'm browsing in Youtube, make it think that I'm in youtube while I'm actually in another site so I get "free" internet. I'm in Android 9 and I'm rooted if that is relevant. Thanks for the help Edit: I stupidly forgot to mention that a vpn isn't going to work since the free internet is only applied to youtube, any other attempt to turn on a vpn or browse another site fails [link] [comments] |
Google Authenticator app, is it needed? Posted: 24 Oct 2020 07:49 AM PDT I don't remember anymore that I have asked to use Google Authenticator when login into my account on a new machine. Instead, Google will send security question to my phone. Do we still need this Google Authenticator app? I am setting up my new phone and realized that I have this app installed. It's been few years back. [link] [comments] |
Unable to use or format my micro SD card Posted: 24 Oct 2020 07:24 AM PDT I have a Huawei P8 Lite 2017 with EMUI 8.0.0, Android 8.0.0. I installed an SD, but can't use it. It is setted as the default memory, but whenever installing an app, or making a photo it is saved in the internal memory of the phone. I do not have the option to move my apps to the SD, and in the memory settings, the option to format or eject the card is gray and unavailable. The SD is ok, i can use it on other devices with no problems. What should i do? [link] [comments] |
Samsung Galaxy A50 - Software Update Issue after unlocking phone and switching network (Ireland) Posted: 24 Oct 2020 06:48 AM PDT So yesterday I successfully unlocked my Galaxy A50 from Three network and ported my number to 48 network. Went to a phone fix shop to get the phone unlocked and it took about 20 minutes (cost me €25). Everything about the phone and 48 network works fine. However, when I went into Software update in my settings and tried to download and install the latest software update, I receive the message "Your current software version isn't supported. Visit a service centre". I never had issues with updating software before and after checking online it seems that maybe the software updates are carrier locked (to Three network) and that if I want to update the software I would need to put an active Three SIM into the phone. I rang back the guy who unlocked the phone and he said that people never come back to him with this issue after unlocking their phones, but if I wanted he would be able to manually update the phone and in the future it should update automatically, but this will cost €35 as he said he may need to backup everything and upload it again and it's a lengthy process. It's either that, or find a Samsung Service Centre in Ireland (can't find any on website) or put a Three SIM in any time I want to update. Does anyone have any experience with this? Would really appreciate some help! [link] [comments] |

[URGENT] Is there any way to unlock a phone via PC (Known password). Posted: 24 Oct 2020 06:31 AM PDT UPDATE: I somehow managed to get the display to show up temporarily and removed the password. My Moto G5+ display is half dead. It is password enabled and I know the password but due to the half-dead display I'm unable to input the keys correctly. Is there a way to unlock the phone via PC? The method should still ask me to input the phone password. I want to unlock the phone and remove the pw for good. I tried to follow two suggestions as shown in the top results on Google and those included installing softwares (they were really alike). I tried to install the software and for a mere MB (one was only some 700Kb and is published by a company based in Shenzhen China) size they took really long and I got suspicious of them so cancelled the installation. The phone display is in such a condition that I can see the display fine if the phone constantly "refreshes" the display else it whitens out the display (the part with pixel issues). So I can run games fine most of the time since the games constantly refreshes the screen and rarely gives time for the phone display to black out. Also I'm not in a situation to get the phone repaired. [link] [comments] |
