Im finding game that i used to play about 2-3 years ago. The game looks like the one below (dungeon & alchemist). It was a pixel art idle game that had "Master *some kind of chinese name*" as its name. I'm desperately trying to find it for the sake of nostalgia.

[DEV] Grim Quest - old school indie RPG gets 500,000 downloads and 4.6 rating on Play Store

    Posted: 24 Oct 2020 06:50 AM PDT

Hi I'd like to present my passion game project - a text based RPG set in a dark fantasy world, inspired by dungeon crawlers and cRPG's from the 90'. It was developed solely by myself, as a hobby in my spare time. It tackles the sterotype of mobile RPGs as casual nonsense with cartoony graphics, rife with ads, paywalls and other greedy monetization practices. It tries to blend text adventure, board game-like mechanics and classic turn-based combat system into something fresh and, hopefully, unique. Many people have noted that it reminds them of their DnD days and scratches that adventuring itch in a right way.

It kicked off pretty well, accumulating almost 500,000 downloads and 4.6 rating on the Play Store in 4 months since it's release to late beta. If it seems like your thing, I invite you to give it a try and leave your honest feedback. It's free. Cheers!

A few months ago I started a little weekend lockdown project and shared the result with family and a small group of close friends. They loved it! Pretty soon I had their friends and families asking if they could get it on their phones too.

Not long after this my wife and I welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world, and so this lost all focus. Now, a few months later I've found time to polish it up, work on the feedback from the testing and can officially announce the launch of Guess My Word for Android (and the other one).

It's a very simple word guessing game that takes no time to pickup, but from what I gather is quite hard to put down!

[DEV] Published my first game Bouncy Balls to the play store

    Posted: 24 Oct 2020 06:11 AM PDT

Hey everyone, I just published my first game on the play store a couple of days ago.

The game is called Bouncy Balls, it is a reflex based game, with an infinite side scroller. The point is to create platforms to make the ball bounce and dodge different obstacles.

I'd greatly appreciate any feedbacks you guys could give me.

DATA WING: Who, or what, is Mother?

    Posted: 24 Oct 2020 12:14 AM PDT

The way I see it, she is the culmination of the software and hardware on Olivia's phone, including the OS. She does seem to have some level of control over system functions, like when she tries to transfer herself to the Internet and destroy Olivia's phone.

But if that is the case, why can she not access the Prism, Security Nexus and the Comms Module without the User's fingerprint and security keys? Why not break through the security without the Data Wing, since she IS the hardware and software, essentially?

The last thing is that I wish I was allowed to side with Mother instead of Rogue, and see how the story continues from there.

Where do people find mobile games?

    Posted: 24 Oct 2020 12:04 AM PDT

I usually avoid mobile games. My elderly parents bought a tablet and want games on it.

Unfortunately Google Play is showing me "games" with more ads than playtime, literally a 30 second ad before I can play for 30 seconds. Where can I go to find games that is free, or 1 time purchase, without spam ads or micro-transactions? Does anyone know of any list worth trying?

[REQUEST] "pay once" tower defence game with ZERO ads, subscriptions, or "consumable" IAPs

    Posted: 23 Oct 2020 11:33 PM PDT

I have been looking for a decent tower defence game on android, and while I have found a few good ones (radiant defence, dungeon warfare 1/2, 2112D, and bloons TD 1-4)

I'm looking for something like what you used to find on those old flash game websites back in the day (frontline defence was my favorite when I used to play flash games, but that has since been removed)

Anyone know of a good free or pay once TD game that contains absolutely ZERO "consumable" IAPs, no subscriptions, and no ads (I'm more than happy to pay upfront)

When I say consumable IAPs, I'm talking about things that you can buy repeatedly via IAP or premium currency, and are permanently consumed during gameplay (coins, gems, skips, boosts, power-ups, bombs.etc)

Non consumable IAPs (like expansions, DLC.etc, the way radiant defence does it, is ok)

Game suggestions for someone new to mobile devices

    Posted: 23 Oct 2020 01:36 PM PDT

My housemate is an older gentlemen and generally allergic to technology but I've finally convinced him to join the 21st century and get a smartphone. They have expressed some interest in trying mobile gaming having enjoyed video games some back in the day but not since the original Super Mario and earlier type stuff. He is fairly intelligent but entirely unfamiliar with the interfaces of anything and everything so basically what is called for is classic sorts of games that are purposely idiot proof interfacewise, no ad-clogged, p2w, convoluted gacha-fests, grating stamina systems, etc. You know what I mean, the stuff that would make him think he was right to not want to touch these horrible devices. They don't necessarily have to be really simple games, just easy to figure out both in terms of the interface for someone that doesn't know much about these kinds of devices and in terms of at least initial game play and controls for someone who hasn't really gamed much in general and at all in recent decades.

Basics like current quality examples of the most common genres that keep what I've said above in mind for him to see what kind of thing he might like best would be cool, you know, like a match 3, shooter, bubble popper, angry birds type maybe, card games/solitaire, a runner, maybe an rpg or roguelite if you can think of one he can maybe handle, etc, etc, whatever. Anything you can think of really that is good and won't confuse him with its interface or what's going on in the game or how to control things or annoy overly begging for money or forcing ads upon him. Also good current versions of old classics he might be familiar with from the retro era would likely work well also. Thanks.
