While my son was on my phone, an MMS from an unknown number came in. He clicked on that link and nothing happened, however, immediately after he clicked on it, another 4 MMS messages were received. I haven't backed up my data in while. I was wondering if the only solution here is to factory reset. Also, I'm not very tech savvy so please feel free to dumb down the explanation. Posted: 17 Sep 2020 12:49 AM PDT I found out that my laptop doesn't support that many resolutions and when Bliss OS tries to change into one at boot, the screen freezes. Live CD seems to be working tho, what can I do? I am a beginner at this and I would appreciate any help. Posted: 17 Sep 2020 08:28 AM PDT I recently had an issue with my Pixel 4a where it was constantly restarting about one minute after boot. I did a hard factory reset from the recovery boot and it got me thinking - It does seem a bit strange that anyone could technically wipe my phone of all its data if they got a hold of it and booted into recovery. Is there any actual difference between the wipe and reset that occurs via the recovery boot vs the settings menu? [link] [comments] |

| Late notifications and not receiving calls Posted: 17 Sep 2020 10:48 AM PDT I've been having some problems with my new phone. It's running Android 10 and I didn't have any problems at all on my old phone that was running Android 8. Whenever I get texts or emails on my new phone, the notifications will be very late or I wont even get them at all until I unlock my phone. After I unlock my phone it will say that I got texts an hour ago even though I didn't get a notification for them. I've also had trouble with not receiving calls. My wife told me she had been trying to call all day but I didn't receive a single call. I tested this out with her phone once I got home and called myself and sure enough, it rang all the way through and went to my voicemail but my phone didn't ring at all. Not even when I had it unlocked and had good signal. That issue was fixed whenever I restarted my phone but it makes me wonder how will I know how often I need to restart my phone. I've tried a few things to help with the late notifications. I disabled adaptive notifications, disabled adaptive battery, disabled power saving mode, and also made sure do not disturb was off but still have the problem. | Help recovering files from broken Moto G7 Posted: 17 Sep 2020 10:24 AM PDT So my Moto G7's LCD broke, I have a replacement phone already but I'd very much like to recover some of the photos I have in my G7, the problem is I don't have USB debugging enabled, and I really can't see anything at all in the screen. | Posted: 17 Sep 2020 06:17 AM PDT I have a Galaxy S20. Just had and ditched two different screen protectors. One was an Armorsuit screen protector. It was a pain in the ass to install, still got dust under it, made my screen rubbery, and was impossible to get to adhere on the edges. I couldn't stand it after a day or two and ordered an amFilm tempered glass screen protector. After installing it correctly on the second go, the next two weeks were not great. The first thing I noticed was that the adhesive can't spread perfectly around the edges. Some places excess needs to be scraped off, other places there was a visible edge because the adhesive didn't make it that far. The second thing was that there was a rectangular difference in visibility where the fingerprint scanner was. It looked more oily there than anywhere else and was very visible. I cleaned the screen properly prior to application, so there's no way that was caused by me. The third was that, convenient to the reason many people get screen protectors, it scratched easily. After a couple weeks I had a long, straight scratch (little over an inch long) in the middle of the screen and I have no idea how it got there. It was fairly invisible looking straight on, but very visible looking side-on. Not only did the glass scratch easily, but a scratch is a critical failure. Any impact and the scratch will become a crack. This happened to me before I decided to remove the glass, watching it shatter as I pulled it up. So, what's your view? Is the above issue common with tempered glass or did that brand just suck? If I want to protect my screen from scratches and cracks, what's the best play? Should I just keep putting really cheap screen protectors on and swapping them when they get scratched too much? The screen protector that the phone came with was great with that. It stops charging whenever you touch it and i have to basically bent the cable to the right for it to actually start charging. Sometimes inbetween it's just working fine. New apps are downloading to my phone but are not from the Play Store and they aren't auto updates. I've turned off install third party apps. So far the apps that installed are Tiktok, Pinterest and a news feed app I can't remember it's name. I got it from a friend, so not sure if the bug comes from something they installed. The issue is it keeps turning on and off randomly, about every thirty seconds. I can barely get anything done due to how quickly it shuts off, and it will come back on whether I press the power button or not. It repeats this process until it runs out of batteries. I have tried running it with power from my computer, and just from charged batteries - either way, it won't stay on consistently. It's a pain in the ass because it'll keep coming on and off throughout the night until it finally runs out of batteries, and it's rough troubleshooting due to the short amount of uptime (plus the fact that I have clunky fingers). A hidden folder in smart explorer did not transfer and when I later made it unhidden, it's now empty. I can see some of the items in history of some of the apps, but the items themselves are gone. Kind of annoying because I lost a really important image file someone texted me :/ how do I fix this? I was thinking of using it for my D&D PDFs. But all the apps on it are old and unusable. I tried to use the Google Play app but it still opens the old Android Market. When I try to switch (using the prompt on the screen), the app crashes. I tried to go directly to the Google Play store using the browser but the browser is too old and Google ain't having it Do you think there is a way to install a newer browser directly on the tablet without Google Play?
