I just need an app to tell me who's calling on unknown number. That's all. Not even SMS is required for me to show up (i have Textra for that). Any suggestions? | Best SNES/GBA Emulator for least input delay? Posted: 15 Sep 2020 10:01 AM PDT I tried out the Snes9x EX+ for Kaizo Mario but the input delay is too bad. I can't control well enough to play. I tried it using the Wee 2T controller which is fine when testing the buttons in their software. I also tried using the xbox controller which also had input delay. In their app, the button testing is fine and really responsive. I'm not sure why in the actual emulator there's some input delay. [link] [comments] |
| Question on Health/Toxicity of Internal Components Posted: 15 Sep 2020 01:25 PM PDT Hello! Not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, but I figured I'd give it a shot. Background: The screen on my Moto Z2 play recently broke/partially came off of the device after I dropped it. There's a hairline crack running diagonally from the top right to the bottom left of the phone screen, though that doesn't concern me too much. More interestingly, the LCD screen itself is now bent outwards on the left side of the phone, exposing a small opening to the components underneath. The screen is still mostly attached, though now there is a small 'lip' that opens to the interior of the phone. For reasons I won't bore you with, it'll be a little while before I can get another phone, or get this phone fixed. My question is this: is it safe to continue to use this phone in its current state? I imagine that there's a risk of dust getting in and screwing with the internal components, but I'm less sure of what the risk is to my own health. I've heard a lot about smartphones containing toxic components; if those components are now (very slightly) open to the air, am I risking my own health by continuing to use the phone? What exactly would I be exposing myself to, and what risks would be included in that? Apologies, this is coming from a very nontechnical person, so I don't know if I'm totally off base here. | [Espresso] Android Studio will not display pass/fail results for all tests. Posted: 15 Sep 2020 01:24 PM PDT I've got a test class that's ran with AndroidJUnit4. This test class contains about ~65 tests. When I select the run button, the emulator starts the application, and the orchestrator starts running the tests. Fairly frequently, the tests will stop registering, i.e. the orchestrator continues running the tests on the emulator, but Android Studio doesn't display test results. There will be about 10-20 results, showing pass or fail states, and then it seems like Android Studio gets stuck. In that, it continues to show the same test name for the continuation of the test run. The test will be indefinitely stuck in the "running" state (where it shows the little loading/spinning animation). The number of tests ran will stay at something like "Tests passed: 17 of 17", despite the orchestrator obviously running more tests. I have a Samsung Tab 6 and I like it when my pdfs are opened with Kindle app. Currently as of right now I can choose a pdf to open with kindle and from then on uses kindle, but anything else in my Google Drive folder requires me to repeat the process. I'm signed in to Google Drive in the My Files app and clicking on any pdf file opens up Google Drive when I just want to see Kindle bring the pdf up. Thanks. [link] [comments] |

Sadly I broke my phone screen today and when I reached out to Samsung Australia they said they would not do repairs on phones purchased outside of Australia. If I got it repaired by a non-authorized repair shop would I be risking completely bricking the phone or something? is there any real difference between Australian and Canadian Samsung phones? When I get into recovery mode I get the same errors every time E:unknown volume for path [/odm] E:unknown volume for path [/vendor] dm-verity verification failed... E:[libfs_mgr]is_dt_compatible(): firmware info was not valid : `proc/device-tree/frimware/android/compatible : No such file or directory I've tried everything including a full NAND flash and repartioning with PIT file, nothing works. If it helps it's a SM-G950F with region code HG3 and I flashed the latest firmware using samfirm downloader. Thanks in advance for any help. [link] [comments] |

| Adopted sd card not recognized Posted: 15 Sep 2020 09:38 AM PDT Hello, So Ive had this micro sd for quite a while and it was working fine most of the time. Sometimes it wouldnt be recognized after switching the phone on, but one reboot always solved it. Well, this time it didnt. I have a FP2 with LOS 17.1 and the sd (SanDisk Ultra 64GB) was formatted as internal storage. I tried rebooting and removing the card and putting it back in several times. It happened out of nowhere, I did not update anything, removed the card or something. I know that its quite likely that the sd is just dead because Ive had it at least a year and also bought it used, but I still have some hope. In TWRP file manager I could find a folder external_sd, which is empty, and a folder sdcard, which contains an old state of the sd cards content (but both of these folders also exist with removed card).

Posted: 15 Sep 2020 08:16 AM PDT Basically, predictive text is wanting me to capitalize random words in the middle of sentences because that word was the first word of a sentence I previously wrote (e.g. it'll offer 'Organize' and 'organization', but not 'organize'). I sort of accepted I can never see it outside at all. Even if max brightness - literally cannot see it at all. I just assumed there was nothing to be done about it - but it just occurred to me maybe there is something wise redditors know that I don't and it's worth asking!! Does anyone know anything I might do? I realize too if it requires downloading an app hehe that'd be difficult because even with everything transferred to SD card, it's always near 100% full on the local drive smh... I know that I can start the Camera App with 2 power-presses by enabling the relevant option under System->Gestures->Double-press power key->Launch camera.
