    TCL update?

    Posted: 10 Jul 2020 02:39 AM PDT

Hi everyone, I've got 2 TCL p8m TV's. One is 43" and another is 65"

The larger TV has already updated automatically to android 9 but the smaller one remains at android 8.

Even if I try to do network update on the smaller TV, it shows as latest version..is there an update file anywhere so I can just do a local update?

    Thanks!

    Bricked? Mi Box Troubles.

    Posted: 09 Jul 2020 04:52 PM PDT

I own 2 Mi Boxes both of which got bricked. The first one got bricked while going through a software update. It would power on and get stuck in a boot loop. I had another so I just switched them and a few days later the MI box restarted for some reason and then got stuck in the same boot loop. I am assuming it has something to do with the DC adapter because I did use the same one for both, but I don't know. This was all months ago and now I came across one of the boxes recently and tried to power it on, but this time the LED turns on but the screen shows no signal. Not sure whether to bury it once and for all or to put some effort into reviving it one last time. I found a tutorial for flashing the firmware here, it's hard to follow though (seems to be translated from Spanish). Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot!

    Posted: 09 Jul 2020 07:29 PM PDT

Sideloaded a video conferencing app and have been trying to get this camera/mic to work.

Mi box upgraded to latest ver.

    All USB 2.0 products.

Used the following devices I'm various states, nothing.

USB Cam with mic USB mic Bluetooth speaker/mic Usb speaker/mic

Got the Bluetooth speaker/mic to work for about 30 seconds with the USB Cam/mic but that was it.

    Thoughts?

Nvidia Shield Pro vs Mi Box S

    Posted: 09 Jul 2020 06:36 PM PDT

primarily for streaming, don't care for gaming. would an Nvidia Shield Pro be overkill? could Mi Box S handle skins like Arctic Horizon/Arctic Zypher 2/AuraMod in Kodi well enough?

Can't login to Nest on Shield

    Posted: 09 Jul 2020 12:16 PM PDT

It just keeps telling me incorrect username or password. Google is signing me in using Smartlock. I just tested on another Shield and it signed me in just fine. I tried manually signing in and that doesn't work either. It's a Nest account, not Google, but it's working fine on two other Shields.

    Any ideas?

    Prime Video Profiles

    Posted: 09 Jul 2020 05:35 PM PDT

Now that profiles are rolling out globally for Prime Video I have been checking daily to see if this is on the Prime app on my Android TV. I have it on fire stick and Roku already. Anyone with Prime see the option for profiles on their AndroidTV yet?

TVB-100 no HDMI output on TV.

    Posted: 09 Jul 2020 09:21 AM PDT

Hi, I received a second hand Android TV box. It has a model number TVB-100 which we receive from our ISP with their branding (Telkom LIT_ Box)

When I try to connect through HDMI it doesn't pick up on my TV. I'm awaiting an AV cable to try but is there anything I can do to troubleshoot it for now? I can't seem to find the Reset button either.

    Any help would be appreciated.

"Screen off" feature disappeared on Mi TV 4S

    Posted: 09 Jul 2020 09:10 AM PDT

Hi, like I said in the title, "Screen off" that was in power button menu disappeared after lastest update (it was 1.1GB-ish). I used it a lot to listen to music and now its gone. Is it hidden somewhere or Xiaomi removed it on pourpose?

    BBC SMART_TV Casting Option

    Posted: 09 Jul 2020 10:17 AM PDT

I recently bought a TCL TV that included built in Android TV. I noticed that after I connected the internet to it a new casting device started showing up called "BBC SMART_TV". This seems to always be on, and shows up along with the normal TV name for casting. If I try to cast to it, it just spins. Does anyone know what this is and how I could disable/uninstall it?

    Thanks!
