| Samsung Note 8 Stuck in Bootloop. Please help Recover or make backup Posted: 29 Jul 2020 05:04 AM PDT Dear experts My Samsung Note 8 SM-N950F Android 8.0 stopped booting all of a sudden. No software update, no modification, nothing. It was working perfectly, I restarted phone and it won't start again. I can access via ADB while it stays in bootloop. I exported logcat. I'll upload if it may help. As much as I remember, I had "Allow OEM Unlock" enabled. I tried to flash TWRP via Odin in Download mode, but it fails. Posted: 29 Jul 2020 07:23 AM PDT I own an old Snapdragon 626 phone, the scrolling is not smooth eg scrolling down web search result or Reddit posts. Thinking of upgrading to a SD 730, but then in OnePlus Nord press videos show the reason they're releasing a mid range phone now that mid range SD chips finally is able to give an acceptable user experience showing smooth and fast scrolling. Nord is using 765G, suggesting that to get a smooth scrolling experience one must aim for this chip or one with higher spec. Any of you have otherwise experience getting smooth scrolling on lower spec chip? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 28 Jul 2020 08:42 PM PDT I recently recommended my friend a Xiaomi Redmi 9s that's GSM unlocked as a new phone and it was working fine until recently. He uses Walmarts family mobile plan which supports unlocked gsm phones. He isn't able to receive data, make calls, or send texts. All of the threads I found online said it was either the recipient blocking them or their phone bill being unpaid. I had him text me and it didn't go through so it's not that he's been blocked by anyone. And his bills are paid so it isn't that. What kind of issue are we having? What can fix it? I am thinking of storing it in Google Keep and pushing it to the archive. I always try to keep my google account(2FA on), phone and laptop completely secured and do not share any information regarding them. I desperately need to get in to her phone (Samsung Galaxy S10 plus)...she has security cameras inside her home that are on an app on her phone plus a lifetime of pictures. | Posted: 29 Jul 2020 11:18 AM PDT Hi - I have a standard Moto G6, unrooted, running Pie 9 (security patched to 01 Apr 2020) in the UK. Periodically the phone is either freezing or shutting down. It's unresponsive to buttons or touch, doesn't wake when plugged on charge or connected as a USB device. I have to hold the power button down for a while until it starts or reboots, and then it's fine for a week or two. Never happens while being used, and doesn't seem to follow any pattern. I put it down somewhere, and next time I try to use it I discover it's dead. No demanding gaming or whatever, I can't imagine it's overheating. I did a factory reset but it's continuing. I've checked memory status but there's no obvious leak or hole. I guess it's probably a rogue app, but diagnosis by trial and error would take months. I need a function (within settings or as an app) which can provide a recoverable system event log, eg what was happening in the seconds before the OS crashed. Would really appreciate any suggestions. | Occasionally launcher gets reset? Posted: 29 Jul 2020 11:15 AM PDT I have always used nova launcher on every android device I've ever had. But this OnePlus 7 pro is the first that will occasionally (like maybe once a day) I'll unlock it or be using it and home the home button and it take me to OnePlus launcher. And the only fix I have is going into the settings and the default app for home is blank. I have to set it as OnePlus launcher then close the settings app and go back and set it as nova to get nova back. If I just pick nova from the start, it will stay blank and keep taking me to OnePlus launcher. This baffles me, I'm at a complete loss. This has been a thing on 4 different set ups (resetting the device to factory settings 4times for other reasons, twice was restored from backup, twice from scratch) And this issue persists. It's not deal breaking by any means, just annoying. I'm on Android 10.3.3 international version GM1915 [link] [comments] |

We send it to the samsung dealership in my country amd they said they can't do anything. So I tried to contact the employee and he says he has no idea about the email was on that tablet. I tried almost everything on youtube but was not able to install the apk. I think samsung patched it. Is there any use of the tablet? Or forget about it and throw it away? Looking at buying an S20+ on a contract as I'm now in the last month of my S9+ and I find the sim only's to be not great value tbh (would rather upgrade my phone if I'm gonna be paying £20 just for data anyway). Is it a good time to go for it? I see some decent deals in uswitch. My concern is surrounding the likelihood of a price drop or good deal cropping up in coming weeks. I see there's a note launch next week - is that likely to cause any movement? Failing that is the next milestone not until Black Friday? Seen some deals offering the buds for 'free' but all those contracts are £200-300 more expensive, annoyingly this included the new Vodafone deals in the exclusive red that looks awesome. Thanks! Would you consider the features of the S20+, e.g better camera, 120hz refresh rate, UFS3.0, 1440p, 0.1" bigger HDR screen, waterproofing, etc to be worth this price difference - $500AUD/ $360USD? | Specific MP3 files won't transfer to music/internal storage Posted: 29 Jul 2020 08:12 AM PDT I downloaded an album and have transferred most of it to my phone with zero trouble, but for some reason a few tracks just won't transfer even though when I view the internal storage from my laptop I can see them there. They're all labelled as break tracks so I removed the stuff saying 'BRK' and 'break' from them in case that somehow triggered it which obviously didn't work. They're all also short tracks, less than 40sec each. Could this be something to do with it? If it's useful information, my phone is a Huawei P20 Pro and I'm on Android 8.1.0. There's no differences in the actual properties of these tracks compared to the others so I'm pretty confused. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 29 Jul 2020 07:19 AM PDT Yesterday my phone died for good ....I heard my alarm go off in the morning and before i could turn it off the alarm got muted so i went back to sleep, woke up 30 minutes later to find my phone kind of hot and it wouldnt turn on, nothing works ive tried everything yesterday so i gave up. I still need to get valuable files of my phone though so this is so messed up because my dumbass didnt do regular back ups (I lost everything pretty much lol) So im asking this question, in the search for hope :( Edit for more info : This happened back in April too however that time my phone died during the day in my pocket but after a few hours of charging plus doing volume + power button variations it came back. I don't want to block all unknown numbers, because that would also block calls from people delivering an item to me. Sometimes I get a call from a Private number, and it's always annoying, either a scam or a troll, but there's no way to block private numbers, if the number was shown I could just block it. | My phone will not update my Google Photos to the new version with map view. Posted: 29 Jul 2020 06:37 AM PDT So, I have a Pixel 3 on Google Fi and I still not have gotten the Google Photos update. In fact, the app said it was updated but it never actually got the map view and new 3 tab design. I've tried, restarting, clearing cache, clearing data, in both Play Store and Photos. I uninstalled all photos updates and it only updates me to the previous version. I even updated to the beta version of Android 11. I'm not sure why I won't get the update. Any ideas?
