4 Quick Tl;Dr Android Game Reviews / Recommendations (Episode 145) Posted: 12 Apr 2020 05:29 AM PDT Happy Easter Sunday, fellow mobile gamers! :) And welcome back to the latest summary of the best mobile games I played this week. In this episode, I'll be covering a beautiful multiplayer adventure game, a new dungeon crawler that really takes the RPG genre to its very core with its minimalistic art-style, a game that takes a new spin on the AFK Arena-like RPG gameplay by mixing it with Auto Chess-inspired combat, and lastly, a ragdoll physics simulation game with both single- and multiplayer! Disagree with my opinion? Let's have a friendly discussion below. New to these posts? Check out the first one from 145 weeks ago here. The games are "ranked" somewhat subjectively from best to worst, so take the ranking for what it is. Let's get to the games:Sky: Children of the Light [Game Size: 504 MB] (free)Genre: Adventure / MMO / Multiplayer - Requires Online Access Orientation: Landscape Required Attention: Full tl;dr review: With a 4.9 average score on the App Store, Sky: Children of the Light is one of the highest-rated games of all time - and for good reason! This visually stunning multiplayer adventure game about collecting fallen stars and reliving old memories is fun to explore, features plenty of platformer puzzles, allows us to fly around the world, and is free to play! And maybe best of all, the UI is so simple and clean that you get really immersed in the universe. The monetization is non-obtrusive, focusing on a $10 seasonal subscription (or $5 if you buy it with 2 friends) that unlocks some additional in-game activities. This game is truly a work of art! Google Play: Here YouTube First Impressions / Review: Here Minimal Dungeon [Game Size: 64 MB] (free)Genre: RPG / Dungeon Crawler / Minimalistic - Offline Playable Orientation: Portrait Required Attention: Some tl;dr review: Minimal Dungeon is a loot-heavy dungeon crawler RPG with an incredibly clean and minimalistic art-style, but deep RPG layers, including resource collection, boss monsters, a stats point system, and lots more. The game has us play through floors in a dungeon or enter randomly generated special dungeons that we can use to grind more gold or loot whenever we feel stuck in the normal dungeons. To collect resources or attack any creature, we simply tap the square that represents that creature or resources until we're done. It's essentially RPG gameplay cut to the very core. The iAPs allow us to get better items faster, but there's no need to ever buy the premium currency as we get some through normal gameplay, and the game isn't so difficult that we're forced to buy anything. Google Play: Here YouTube First Impressions / Review: Here Idle Legend [Total Game Size: 717 MB] (free)Genre: RPG / AFK Arena-like / Auto Chess Combat / Strategy - Require Online Access Orientation: Landscape Required Attention: Little tl;dr review: Idle Legend is an AFK Arena-like RPG mixed with auto chess-like combat, which means we strategically place a team of heroes on our chessboard before sending them off into campaign battles or special dungeons and other game modes. The idle part of the gameplay means that our heroes constantly fight enemies equal to the strength of the latest campaign mission we've completed. When we return to the game, we therefore have lots of gear and currencies that we spend on upgrading the strength of our team of heroes. New heroes are unlocked through a gacha unlocking mechanism, but the game is very generous with the premium currency - just like AFK Arena. The monetization system definitely allows us to pay to progress faster, but with a focus on singleplayer content and no paywalls as of yet, the game is easily enjoyed as a free player. I enjoyed the extra tactical element that the auto chess-inspired combat system added, so this has now replaced AFK Arena for me. Google Play: Here YouTube First Impressions / Review: Here Totally Reliable Delivery Service [Total Game Size: 371 MB] (free)Genre: Ragdoll / Physics / Simulation / Indie / Co-op - Offline Playable Orientation: Landscape Required Attention: Full tl;dr review: Totally Reliable Delivery Service is a ragdoll physics simulation game about picking up and delivering packages in either singleplayer or multiplayer game-modes. From flying airplanes to jumping on trampolines and viciously driving forklifts around town, the game is as much about exploration as it is about actually delivering packages. And because of that, the game is best enjoyed as a multiplayer experience with friends, where the wacky nature and weird control scheme creates a fun indie atmosphere. This is one of the few "party games" on mobile. In the free version, you can explore the first city in singleplayer and friends-only multiplayer. A $5 iAP unlocks all areas and the full multiplayer mode, and a $10 deluxe iAP unlocks that + all DLC, which includes cosmetics and new areas and mechanics. What are the best 'simulation' games on Android Posted: 12 Apr 2020 11:24 AM PDT I'm not interested in vehicle simulators (car/bus/plane). I'm looking for games that simulate real life roles like managing a city or a supermarket or anything like that....not anything particular. I want a mentally stimulating experience which gives me a good perspective of what it is like to be in that role and models the situation as close as possible to real life. Not so particular about graphics etc. Also, I don't mind paying for the game. Looking for suggestions. Thanks in Advance ✌️ [link] [comments]
Ipega 9087S - Thumb stick snapping vertically and horizontally Posted: 12 Apr 2020 10:41 AM PDT Warning, information, possible work around, and a bit of a rant all below. I recently purchased an Ipega 9087S AKA the "Upgraded Red Knight" and I took to a testing program after having some issues and I noticed that on both the vertical and horizontal axis there is major snapping. After googling the issue this seems to be the case with 75%+ of the Ipega 9087S's sold as it's an extremely common topic in many forums. As a result bi-directional controls are only pressed down to 50% while mono-directional controls are pressed down to 110% range and again are snapped along their axis. Only after reaching min/max range of the X or Y axis can you then apply a bi-directional button press. This means, to look up and to the right, you must first push the right thumb stick to its maximum range on either the X or Y axis (we'll use the Y axis for arguments sake) forcing you to look way up, and only then once the Y axis is fully pressed down will the second direction activate and finally allow you look to the right at the same time that you're looking up. Where as on a normal controller there's no snapping to either axis so you can simply look up and to the right by slowly pressing up and to the right on the right thumb stick at the same time. The second issue this snapping causes is; Because when you're looking up, or moving forward, and to the right at the same time, it attempts to snap to both the X and Y axis it ends up getting caught in one of the four bi-driections at a 50% press down struggling to go any further, or any less. So when you do get the sweet spot and end up being allowed to use a bi-directional control the control is input at a snails pace because you can only ever press down on the bi-directional controls at 50%. While there are a lot of games that don't have an issue with the horizontal and vertical axis snapping of the thumb sticks due to how movement and aiming in those games are coded, a lot of other games do. Most 3D games have an issue. It almost makes this controller a waste of money unless you only want to play 2D games, some of which will still have issues if it's top down and requires bi-directional movement. Anyways, after a few days of trial and error I found that on emulators, and when I use MoonLight to stream emulators from Windows, this can be *almost* entirely solved in games that have issues with it by ramping up the range of both of the sticks to 151% and then turning the sensitivity of both sticks down to 80% inside of the respective Emulators Input configs. One of the issues with this solution though is that it's limited to Emulators that have rather robust controller customization and configuration tools, like Dolphin, or while streaming PCSX2 and CEMU over MoonLight. So emulation with this is okay now for the most part. But after all this I'm at a stump in the road, as I can't find a program or way to alter the Thumb Sticks range and sensitivity, either in Windows or Android. I can only get the right stick working over MoonLight with Windows native games by changing the in game sensitivity and by changing the Windows calibration of the right Thumb Stick, the left stick doesn't have in-game settings ever, and for some reason the left stick wont calibrate properly at all in Windows and was forcing me to reset to default on both sticks, so I settled for only calibrating the right one. I haven't found a way at all to calibrate the controller in Android. With all that said and all the information/rant out there. I'm just kind a wondering if anyone had any other work around for this controller for either Windows Native games streamed to Android over MoonLight/Parsec, or for Android Native games. To be honest I should have just saved up a little more and gotten the Wee2T, but here I am. And before I spend more money on fixing the issue with a WEE2T, I'd rather spend a tiny bit more time on trying to solve it further. [link] [comments]

Help me find a game I played before please Posted: 12 Apr 2020 04:13 AM PDT I used to play a game where characters had kinda anime designs. The game started from a lobby. Both online and offline were available. 12 players . 15 minutes . There was a map with sectors like jungle, beach, hospital, temple. The sectors used to go down. The player had to go to each sector to find equipments which could be used to assemble better weapons like adamentine claw, scissor hand, one punch man gauntlet etc. Other players did same too. If they met in same sect then they could fight or escape. The description is sketchy. Sorry for that. Thank you. [link] [comments]

Looking for an old game, please help... Posted: 12 Apr 2020 10:36 AM PDT It's top down 2D, you are a wizard and in a castle/tower clearing floors going up each time. Monsters drop powerups which are from the different elements. The villain is an evil wizard, the start screen was the entrance to the castle/tower and you could create several characters and transfer loot between them using a chest. Played this a few years ago and looooved it, the different attack powers with the elements (especially ice) was super fun. It was random generated floors and every few floors the evil wizard would be laughing and taunting you. Sadly I don't remember more.. [link] [comments]

Help finding a specific android game Posted: 11 Apr 2020 09:57 PM PDT Hey guys! I'm searching for an android game which I played in the past but forgot the name, would like to play it again. It's a lane defence game, like there are lanes and both sides deploy units to fight, whoever breaches the wall that the extreme ends wins the match. The units are animals, like tigers, rhino, dragons etc. The one unique thing about the game is there was an option to combine two different animals to make a hybrid and stronger version. It would be helpful if anyone can remind me which game this is. Thanks a lot! [link] [comments]

Choices that Matter by Tin Man games Posted: 12 Apr 2020 12:34 AM PDT Anyone here played this and finished the first story? If so, is there any way that no side characters that are allies will die? [REQUEST] Co-op adventure and survival game Posted: 12 Apr 2020 03:22 AM PDT Hello, my friend and I are looking for an adventure and survival game. Much like Minecraft but not Minecraft, we don't want a game with this graphics style. And in 1st or 3rd person. Paid or free doesn't matter. And if more than 2 can play co-op, the better. Thank you. Question about using USB controllers Posted: 12 Apr 2020 02:22 AM PDT So I have a controller that has a dongle(i think that's what it's called). I insert the dongle to my phone and turn the controller on and it works. I can navigate my android phone using the controller. It's basically wireless USB. The controller connects wirelessly to the dongle which is connected to the phone. Since this isn't a direct Bluetooth connection to the phone, games such as cod mobile(it only supports Bluetooth controllers) doesn't recognize my controller. So my question is, is there an app that can somehow emulate Bluetooth connectivity or something? What are my options other than buying a Bluetooth controller? Thanks [link] [comments] |
