Factory reset: What do I need to know? Posted: 02 Mar 2020 09:47 AM PST I plan to factory reset my Huawei P30 lite tonight. I backed up my contact and data to my Google account earlier today. I will back up files and photo on my pc before the reset. Also I will go through every app and see if my recovery settings are up to date (email verified, password known...). Did I miss something? How much time the factory reset will take? Is there something I need to know before doing so? What could go wrong? I am doing a reset because my screen side camera doesn't work. The camera app shots down every time I try to use the screen side cam. I tried so far to: Use other camera app Set app to default settings Empty camera cache Launch camera in safe mode [link] [comments]

Save locations of photos & other media Posted: 02 Mar 2020 04:20 AM PST Hi, android and Apple daily user here (apple for communication device, android for "media" device for work and such, photos videos, etc) With iOS, any photo saved from any app location or otherwise is default saved to your "Camera Roll". Therefore, any photos saved from text messages, Facebook, or other apps go straight into one tidy, organized location, chronologically. With android, this isn't so. Android puts photos into separate folders: DCIM, Messages, WhatsApp, Screenshots, etc. There's no "central location" for media, as it is with iOS. Possible to make android behave like iOS with regards to this aspect? [link] [comments]
Possible to control phone via cable from boot? Posted: 02 Mar 2020 08:46 AM PST Hi, Is it possible for me to control my phone via cable from boot? Half my screen died and I had foolishly restarted the phone. I have pin on start set up, but I am unable to enter the pin as that part of the screen is dead. I just need to get the phone up and running for some backups. Phone is a OnePlus 3t. I am unable to get a screen replacement locally, and it would take some time to get one shipped, it seems. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Mar 2020 08:39 AM PST So I recently got what im pretty sure is a virus, pop up ads appearing in every app i use and when i open chrome it takes me to a random popup website. I have tried numerous antiviruses and blth say that i am risk free. I have tried looking for an unknown app and uninstalling it but there is none. Anything else I can do besides factory resetting my phone? [link] [comments]
Problem with Note 9 (Android 10) Posted: 02 Mar 2020 08:30 AM PST Hello everyone! I'm having a little problem with Injustice Gods Among Us, everytime I'm clearing the game's data the device removes all of the game's files forcing me to redownload 2.5G. Is there anything I can do about that? Please help. Edit: this didn't happen in earlier versions of Android. When I cleared data on Android 7, 8 or even 9, the device used to delete the save files and that's it. [link] [comments]
How do I reduce screen size on my mobile phone? Posted: 02 Mar 2020 03:02 AM PST I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 8. I applied a screen protector to hide a crack on the corner, however the protector decreased my screen size from the both sides due to the curved screen. I don't want to remove the protector due to its high price but would like to reduce the screen size from the sides a little bit to gain my screen again. Is it possible to reduce the screen size from the both sides by an app or something else? [link] [comments]
Screen time displayed on lock screen ? Posted: 02 Mar 2020 05:30 AM PST I'm trying to limit the time I use my phone each day. Is there a way to display my screen time on my lock screen? So before I open my phone I can see how much I've already used that day. [link] [comments]
| Lost my Huawei P30 Lite's lock screen password. Any way to access my phone again/recover files? Posted: 02 Mar 2020 06:49 AM PST I changed my lock screen's 6 numbers password the other day because of a coworker looking a bit too close but since I did it in a hurry I forgot it like an idiot. I have been trying to find a way to get back in but I find no answer as to how I can get back into my phone. (I could factory reset but there are a few text screenshots I absolutely need in there). I must have seen 12 different ways to get back in but none work or apply to my situation. Even the Google account method doesn't work I guess because I'm not using a pattern lock so I'm just stuck typing 3 passwords each hour over and over again. I'm 90% convinced I will find my password back in less than a month but if I'm wrong about what kind of password I entered then the only thing I have are third-party softwares claiming they can recover files from behind the lockscreen. I have set a backup point and used a USB key to back up all of this computer's important stuff in case those third party programs install malwares but do I really have no other option? | Sister forgot her phone lock screen, wondering how to get around it without factory reset Posted: 02 Mar 2020 08:30 AM PST She has a Samsung Galaxy J7 Crown. So my sister forgot the lock code for her phone (it's the pattern). I have access to her Google account. I'm wondering how I can unlock it. Google's "Find My Device" doesn't work and I read that it can't unlock phones now. I tried using Samsung's Find My Phone (I signed in using her account). But for some reason it says her phone is offline and when I go to "unlock" it, it asks for a password for the Samsung account. But I signed up using Google, and I didn't create a password. She tried using her Google account password but it didn't work. Her phone isn't rooted. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Mar 2020 10:01 AM PST I installed a firewall app and I looked through the apps and found one system app called "nobody" in my language. I taped on it and it had the number 9999 and it's file was called nobody ( on English). I pressed on settings and nothing happened. Every other system app responded when I pressed settings. In addition, every other app has a number 10-and smth. And they all have a file name like "android.smth.smth else. Furthermore, when I look throughout my apps from the settings, it doesn't appear, hut some other system apps don't do that too (not all of them) What's that? Can this be malware? My phone is a Galaxy A70 and it's not rooted. [link] [comments]
Google Pixel 2 security question Posted: 02 Mar 2020 05:00 AM PST I was wondering if it would be possible to use fingerprint and a pin at the same time for two layers of security? [link] [comments]
| My phones volume not syncing with bluetooth device volumes Posted: 02 Mar 2020 11:04 AM PST I have a Pixel XL and today when I connected to my bluetooth headphones I couldn't hear anything until I turned it up to ~60% volume when I normally max it at ~20% so I thought my headphones were just broken. But when I connected to my speaker I noticed that I could max my phone volume and then adjust the speakers volume separately without affecting the phones volume. Any help would be appreciated! | Fix Instagram raise to record message Posted: 02 Mar 2020 08:39 AM PST Instagram has this feature in DM where you can raise the phone to record a message. It works together with gyrosensor and proximity. But my phone the proximity sensor is glitchy. So now and then DM starts recording messages with the screen off. This resulted a few times in me sending long records of often conversations to random people. So I'm asking, if it possible to remove proximity sensor access permission for Instagram app alone (don't want to disable). I use Lenovo vibe x2 with magisk root. I tried using Instamod but no avail. There was a post in r/Instagram about this but no solution. [link] [comments] |

SIP native dialer setting lost on restart Posted: 02 Mar 2020 07:23 AM PST The SIP setting "make calls with" under Settings > Calls > Calling accounts in the Android native dialer is lost when I restart my phone. It reverts to using the SIM card carrier setting. Anyone else having this problem? I'm running Android 10 on a Pixel 2 or 3a. [link] [comments]
| note 9 pushed to android 10; now phone shuts down instead of sleeps...what gives? Posted: 01 Mar 2020 05:57 PM PST ever since the update my phone will shut off instead of just going to sleep after inactivity. this is refurb phone (assurion,(sp?) that i just received about 2 months prior to the update, everything seemed fine before the update and had zero problems, when the phone is actually on it's fine too, no problems, everything behaves as it should, nav'ing between screens is smooth.... for the life of me i can't figure out what is going on here and i don't have the money right now to pay out for another phone that i'm 99.99999% sure was fubar'd by the update. anyone else have this problem? got an idea for a fix? i've looked around and don't see this being a widespread issue...but i do admit i'm not exactly keyed into this scene anymore..kinda fell out of it after the big cupcake update...i do know this crap is making me want to get back into rooting my phone and all of that stuff. beyond that.....aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhhaaaaaa!!!! it's so freaking frustrating having to boot my phone up everytime i pull it out of my pocket or let it timeout...worse still is if something happened to my wife and kids i'd likely wouldn't find out until i noticed my phone was turned off... thanks for letting me vent even if i'm screwed to infinity and beyond. have a good one! | In need of help from Android experts. Posted: 02 Mar 2020 01:14 PM PST Galaxy S10+ user here. I am getting this non-stop notification for SamsungDeX. I DO NOT EVER WANT TO USE DEX. EVER. How do I uninstall/disable this? I'm am not a techy kind of guy, but I have always enjoyed that android treats me like an adult and for the most part, and doesn't cram the use of things down my throat. I have already googled a solution, and it got me to the area where I could disable DeX, but when I go to toggle disable, it wont let me. Also, DeX has permissions that I dont want it to, namely my contacts & storage. I'm in need of some help, as I am basically special needs when it comes to technology. [link] [comments] |
Share a list of wifi networks? Posted: 02 Mar 2020 01:02 PM PST I know you can share an individual network via QR code, but is there any way I could share the full list of 200+ networks i have saved? My wife is not diligent about connecting to available networks so I'd like to just help her save data since I've saved the passwords for everywhere we regularly go. [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Mar 2020 12:51 PM PST Im like so confused right now,is there any explanation to this? I cleared the junk storage,I deleted the cache from the recovery, and still just 8.6gb free.. [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Mar 2020 12:31 PM PST I'm currently running AOSP Extended v6.5 (Android 9) on my Moto G3 (running a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core @ 1.4GHz, 1 GB RAM, and 8 GB of internal storage). I love AEX, but in sometimes the apps I use on it start to lag and I'm wondering if it's because of being used almost completely or if it's just because the ROM takes up most of the internal storage. Does anyone know if there is a smaller custom rom that's lightweight I could load onto this device that wouldn't cause it to lag every time I use it? Side note: I'm using the device as a media player with the phone and messaging app uninstalled from it (used ADB to remove the apps). [link] [comments]
LineageOS Wiki Instructions for Using the LineageOS Updater app Posted: 02 Mar 2020 03:32 AM PST Hi, Installed LineageOS 16.0-20200222 from Recovery (twrp-3.3.1-0-kltechn.img) on Samsung Galaxy S5 Duo (kltechnduo) and attempted updating to 16.0-20200223. Step 4 of the instructions says "When the download completes, click "Install". Your device will reboot to recovery and install the update, then reboot to the updated installation". TWRP does not automatically finds the updated zip file, it will be helpful to include a sub step here to say after rebooting into recovery, click "Install", then "Select Storage" to internal "/". Then click on "Data" folder and then "Lineagos_updates" to find the zip file. Thank you [link] [comments]
Keyboards not showing at startup Posted: 02 Mar 2020 12:05 PM PST Hi all, I have been using OpenBoard, as my default keyboard, but after i restart my phone the app wont launch until i unlock my phone, I found out that the hard way and was unable to use my phone until i plugged in a hardware keyboard. Now i earned and downloaded swiftkey as a safeguard. Why do some keyboards like Swiftkey or Gboard are able to start at startup but FOSS alternatives wont start untill i unlock my phone? Is there any way i can "force" my phone to start the keyboard at startup,so i dont have to have mutiple keyboards installed in my phone? [link] [comments]
