After 100+ months of posting here in the sub, I've built an app for Curated and filterable Android games and reviews [Looking for Beta Testers & Reviewers]

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 09:09 AM PDT

Thanks to all the incredible support you guys have shown over the years, a fellow Redditor reached out all the way back in 2017, asking if I were up for creating an app based on the format of my weekly "tl;dr Android game recommendations" posts here on the sub.

I said yes, and today, we're ready to start the beta testing of our app called MiniReview.

You can pre-register for it on Google Play (which is a huge help): Pre-register on Google Play here

And if you want to help beta-test, shoot me a DM here on Reddit :)

    ________

If you're interested in why I'm creating MiniReview, what it does, and how it works, read on below - used bullet-points for easier readability:

    WHAT IS MINIREVIEW?

    • An app and platform for highly curated mobile games. It's a place for mobile gamers to find ACTUAL great games with just a few clicks and evaluate them before downloading
    • All games are reviewed and rated
    • All games have custom screenshots (no more promo images) and videos
    • All games are filterable based on multiple manually collected datapoints, like offline/online playability, screen orientation (landscape/portrait), monetization model etc.
    • But more than just the raw features, MiniReview is a community of mobile gamers actually passionate about mobile gaming!

    WHAT IS OUR OBJECTIVE?

    • Review and highlight the best mobile games
    • Allow anyone to find exactly the games they're looking for through smart and unparalleled sorting and filtering options
    • With MiniReview, we wanted to create a home for truly passionate mobile gamers. In many ways, it's the app we've always wished existed, and now it's finally here. It's a place by gamers for gamers, a place where mobile games are properly dissected, analyzed, and organized

    WHERE ARE WE RIGHT NOW?

    • We're currently in closed beta testing
    • These are some of the things you can do in the app already:
    • Find specific games based on detailed filtering options
    • Get notified when new reviews matching your favorite game genres release
    • Rate games and see what others think about 'em
    • Add games to your favorites' list and share it with your friends and family
    • Participate in promotions and giveaways (we hope to do a lot of these in the future - especially featuring small-to-medium sized devs)

WHAT IS MISSING / WHAT IS COMING NEXT?

    • More reviews of portrait-mode games as well as paid/premium games
    • If things take off and people enjoy the app, we'd love to invest time and money into adding additional features, like:
    • A website version of the app + an iOS version
    • A re-design of the main "feed" to make it more dynamic
    • Nightmode, Multiple reviews per game, Additional filters and sorting options, Improved search functionality, Server optimizations, and lots more!

    WHAT WE NEED?

    • Feedback on the app and its features
    • Reviewers! Both text and video reviewers of mobile games. If you love to play and review premium games in particular, we'd love to hear from you - but we're looking for any type of mobile game reviewer. Send me a DM here on Reddit if interested.
    • To expand our network of developers - do you know any we should say hi to? Ask them to email us at contact@minireview.io

What are some multiplayer/co-op games I can play with long distance friends?

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 08:00 AM PDT

It's really annoying that so many games require to use same wi-fi or bluetooth, or same screen.

[request] games like the original diner dash game, paid or free but no in app purchases

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 09:08 AM PDT

Diner dash was one of my favourite ds games , but I'm not a fan of the 'free but you have to pay to do literally anything' model literally ever mobile game is using, including the new diner dash game. I'm looking for something similar to the originals, that is either free or paid but has no in app purchases (if it's a one time purchase to unlock the full game or extra features that's ok, I mean no IAP as in in game currency/coins/whatever) and similar time management sort of gameplay preferably involving restaurants/ cooking.

    [REQUEST] Farming / Resource collecting

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 12:22 AM PDT

    Hi,

I'm looking for a "farming/resource collecting" game like stardew valley or graveyard keeper, but with some differences:

    • collect stuff, build stuf, plant stuff
    • no energy. I just want to keep on going collecting / planting
    • No social 'commitments' who are day dependent. If I want to focus on planting first, I don't want to miss out things because I didn't yet have mined (hope this point is clear)
    • No paywall.

    THanks. :)

[REQUEST] theres any game/arpg like a watered down dragon raja but not mmo but actually offline?

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 07:22 AM PDT

Don't really expecting the same graphics or combat system

actually liked the inmersive system of the game, making my own character (no, I'm not into lolitas, i just made a ripoff anime character) the online arena and dungeon modes and the grinding

Looking for a better combat system and possibility to play offline

    Help me! Removed Fps Game

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 08:58 AM PDT

Not a long time ago I used to play on my phone an FPS game that could be played offline and online. It had some maps that resembled CS maps, but it was not one of those copycats. It had a level system, and you would get new guns as you got more xp and more levels. I remember it was on Play Store, but I can't find it anymore. Its icon was grey and it was kind of a gas mask. Do you guys know what game I am talking about? I can't remember its name.

Should i buy an Android Controller?

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 04:05 AM PDT

Hi, so i want to play mobile (call of duty, asphalt 9, pubg, emulator games,...) I have an PS4 Pro Controller and an Xbox 1 Controller (old Version, no direct Bluetooth connection to android Smartphone possible, i dont think a Bluetooth Adapter can help).

So i dont know what to buy: Either a Smartphone holder for the ps4 Controller (OTG cable included) or a Smartphone holder for my xbox Controller (OTG cable included)

Or should i buy the android gaming Controller from Steelseries (id like to save the 40 bucks) because the unchangeable button mapping will screw me up for good? (tried octopus out, its s***)

[Request] Any real rpg game on mobile?

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 05:32 AM PDT

Hi, I was wondering what's the best real rpg game on Android (if any exist) and which choices don I have if so? Kinda got bored of clicker/hero collector type of games, was looking for something less soul draining and more like proper rpg-methodical type of games (games like persona, final fantasy etc etc) preferably free, thanks

    [REQUEST] Colony simulation/survival games?

    Posted: 23 Mar 2020 07:35 PM PDT

I've enjoyed games in this genre on PC like Rimworld, Dwarf Fortress, and Last Stand: Deadzone. There have been several games of this type released on PC and I was wondering if there was any solid game in this genre for Android?

These are the features I'm looking for:

    • Multiple individual units to manage and order around.

    • Base building of some sort

    • Resource collection/looting.

    • Ideally no mandatory win condition to end your game.

    • Some idle progression is fine, but no full idle games.

    Games I've played:

Fallout Shelter - Not bad, but there's no real resource collection and I'm not a huge fan of the core gameplay loop. A lot of the time you spend in the game is waiting for something interesting to happen.

Sacrifice - Kind of unpolished and quite simple, but this is a lot closer to what I'm looking for.

Majesty - Great game, would be exactly what I'm looking for if there was no win condition.
