Posted: 24 Mar 2020 03:09 AM PDT It doesn't happen with every app, but I notice with some apps, it tells me to update the app, even though I just downloaded it. What's the reason for this? [link] [comments] |
Moto G6 - I replaced a broken glass/lcd. Now phone seems to think that it is overheated. Posted: 24 Mar 2020 09:53 AM PDT Error message when plugged into charger: "Charging will continue when phone has cooled down." Also, phone shuts itself down after Moto startup animation. I can get into "AP Fastboot Flash Mode" but nothing else works. Could I have damaged a temp sensor with my manhandling of the motherboard? [link] [comments] |
Is it okay to charge your Li-Po type battery phone above 80% and drain below 30%? Posted: 24 Mar 2020 10:20 AM PDT (Galaxy A50) I've been charging my phone to exact 80% and discharging to exact 30% since I got this phone almost a year ago. Today I said fuck it and charged to 90% and i think I'll use my phone until it hits exact 20% not 30%. Is it okay to charge your phone to 90% and discharge it to 20% instead of 30% and 80%? I plan to keep my phone for at least 5 years. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Mar 2020 09:35 AM PDT Is the Samsung s10 exynos good enough compared to models with snapdragon? I need a new phone and I usually get last year's flagship and I can get it at a discount but it is the exynos version. Does the performance difference matter in the real world? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 24 Mar 2020 07:45 AM PDT Does anyone have any idea why "ANDROID SO" sends so much data via wifi? It is a Samsung android 7.0 https://i.imgur.com/Z2O2AZd.png could it be a virus? [link] [comments] |
How to use Apple, Samsung and Windows Together Without Stressing :) Posted: 24 Mar 2020 09:01 AM PDT Hi there, I have an Ipad Air 2, Galaxy s10e and an ASUS laptop running the latest Windows 10. I kind of have this thing for "Ecosystems" and love the way the cloud works. The thing is, the three devices I use the most use different ecosystems. I don't have Office 365 and I use Googles apps. This is where I get stressed about: I have google apps on all of my devices. But still, when I save something to my computer, it saves to its own file system, when I save something to my phone, it saves to its own file system, when I save something to my Ipad, it saves to its own file system. And they all have their unique features and this just makes it harder for me. If there is anything you could suggest I would be very happy. Thanks, [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Mar 2020 08:49 AM PDT I tried charging the phone and it showed the charging symbol but there's a red exclamation point at the upper left corner. How do I fix this? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Mar 2020 07:48 AM PDT I have a VoIP app that I only use for outgoing calls once-twice a week. I don't want it to run in the background. Is there any way to quit the background process and to make sure it won't restart itself automatically when I reboot the phone? Also, I would love to be able to see a list of all the apps/services that currently runs in my background. Android 10. Many thanks! [link] [comments] |
So am I really going to wait 7 days for my app to publish or what ? Posted: 24 Mar 2020 09:09 AM PDT I released an intern testing version to be able to check if everything is fine and now I'm stuck here contemplating this line saying "Pending publication" As they say here: https://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/answer/6334282 7 days... Please somebody tells me it's not gonna take that long [link] [comments] |
How do I set a unique notification tone for Google messages? Posted: 24 Mar 2020 12:51 PM PDT I've created the .wav file, but I don't know how to attach just that notification to Google Messages, as opposed to it being my all purpose notification. Here is the alert: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_2V2sI0-y5ohUxiPsEHHnp834kGf4eBC/view?usp=sharing [link] [comments] |
Is using APKPure considered safe? Posted: 24 Mar 2020 01:22 AM PDT I ask this because APK mirror became too unfriendly for users. It now offers its own made up standard of APK files (called APKM) that only its app can handle (it's not a normal zip file as used on SAI app or APKpure website), and installing apps using their app requires either a long wait with ads or a subscription, after you already downloaded the files... I used APK mirror website for a long time. Was a very reliable place and easy to get its APK files, but now they got worse with those decisions. About APKpure, are all APK files the exact same as they were on the Play Store? How do they get the APK files? In fact, how does APK mirror get its APK files? I've tried to compare an app (Netflix) on both websites, and it seems that the one on APKpure has more split APK files. So I think they use a different approach. [link] [comments] |
Secure folder not working despite phone not being rooted Posted: 24 Mar 2020 12:22 PM PDT Two days ago my secure folder began giving the error "Secure Folder has been locked. Unauthorized software is installed". I don't think I'd downloaded any software in the previous 24 hours. It seems this pertains to Knox. I downloaded two apps (ES file manager, Root checker) to check if my phone had been rooted, which I believe would cause Knox to stop working, and they say my phone has not been rooted. I also tried rebooting the phone. Now, when I click on the secure folder, nothing happens at all. I can open any other app with no problems. What would you recommend? Edited: I downloaded Phone Info SAM from the playstore and in the general tab, it says Knox Warrant 0x0, which should mean the warranty is still available. Now I'm more confused about the secure folder not working. [link] [comments] |
Need help finding a USB -C splitter for my Pixel Posted: 24 Mar 2020 11:30 AM PDT I have a Pixel 1 XL. I would like to find a splitter so that I can change it and plug a flash drive in to watch movies off of. Most of the one's I've seen online have only an audio option. Does what I want even exist? Can't find the reason why my storage is full Posted: 24 Mar 2020 11:23 AM PDT On my phone settings it shows it only has 3gb of 53gb left, but when I check all it's folders contents size and the apps sizes, it doesn't sum up to this value. I simply can't find out why my storage is full. Can anybody help me, please? Phone: Samsung Galaxy S8 [link] [comments] |
Pages saved to desktop disappeared Posted: 24 Mar 2020 11:11 AM PDT My Samsung phone did me wrong the other day. I use duckduckgo as my browser, it lets me save links to the desktop. Phone is Samsung Galaxy 7, Android version 8.0.0 About a week ago all the web page links I had saved to the desktop went away. One folder had 4 links go away and all that was left was one app not in a folder. Another folder had about 9 links and when they disappeared the folder left with them. I can't see that the phone updated Android, and I certainly did not update anything else. Anyone have a constructive thought on what happened, or how I can prevent this in the future? Thanx [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Mar 2020 11:01 AM PDT I have quite a few old phones laying around and really want to see them being used for something. They are no more than 5 years old, so nothing ancient. Sadly, none of the can obtain root. Can anyone give me a few ideas? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Mar 2020 02:15 AM PDT Hey everybody, My father has Wi-Fi and I'm looking for an app that would allow me to video chat with him with using only our Wi-Fi's and no mobile plan for the Pixel XL. This phone would only be used at his house. Is there an app out there to do that? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Mar 2020 11:00 AM PDT I tried uninstalling some bloatware last night and must have gotten rid of something associated with my contacts. I can create new contacts, call and text existing contacts, but when I open up the details to a contact the app crashes. Cmd crashed before I could write down a list of what I uninstalled, but here is a partial listed generated from "pm list packages -d": package:com.samsung.oh package:com.dsi.ant.service.socket package:com.google.android.apps.tachyon package:com.sec.android.app.dictionary package:com.google.android.apps.maps package:com.dsi.ant.plugins.antplus package:com.google.android.webview package:com.samsung.android.ststub package:com.sec.android.emergencylauncher package:com.samsung.android.dlp.service package:com.samsung.upsmtheme I'm at a loss and new to this stuff, so any help would be fantastic, even bad news. Thanks! [link] [comments] |

can I prevent Bluetooth watch from reading messages Posted: 24 Mar 2020 07:57 AM PDT I have a virgin pulse max buzz watch. I'd like to be able to use the feature to get alerts for calls and text messages, but without my watch screen reading out the content of the message in the case of texts. It's fine if it displays the sender name if that makes a difference. It doesn't directly pair with my phone, it only pairs through their app so I can't adjust the bluetooth settings for the device directly. I've always had my phone set to not display details on the lock screen, only a generic notification. I tried changing the notification setting in messaging to not display details so even when my phone is unlocked it simply says "new message" instead of previewing the message. But even then when I get a text my watch displays the full message. Is there some other setting I can try to fix this behavior? Thanks. [link] [comments] |
How can I buy an app without the play store? Posted: 24 Mar 2020 07:34 AM PDT There is a game I'd like to purchase. However on the phone I'd like the install the game on, I don't use any google products. They've all been removed. Is there a way I can get a paid game on that phone, without pirating it? In the past I tried buying the game on an old tablet with google services installed, extracting the APK, transferring the APK to the new device, then installing it. It installed ok but couldn't run because of the "phone home" system built into the app that checked for a google account. Any suggestions that don't involve piracy or using google products? Is there a "Clear All" button in Android Q? Posted: 24 Mar 2020 07:03 AM PDT I've recently upgraded to Android Q and one thing I have noticed missing is the "Clear All" button for open tabs, a feature that I've used very often. Is there any way to get it back? [link] [comments] |
