Games to avoid playing : A guide

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 08:17 AM PST

Too much games to play and too little time? Worry not, this guide is here to help. Now, this would seem common sense for most people but some people would hopefully find it useful.

If you have too many games to play in your 'backlog', consider reducing the clutter by avoiding these kinds of games:

    1. Games that feel tiresome/repetitive but you don't want to stop playing because you desperately want to progress: Stop playing immediately. Games are meant to be enjoyable. If it's not fun for you then it is just a waste of time.

    2. Multiplayer games where ping and reaction time matters A LOT (e.g. FPS games) but you get bad ping or your hardware isn't capable of running it at playable fps (generally 60+): You might want to skip these to avoid frustration and possibly throwing your device/controller/both.

    3. Pay-to-win games: No argument required unless you're a whale and love spending hundreds of bucks to get better in-game items. You should really skip these. Your wallet will thank you. Support a good f2p game instead or buy a good one-time-purchase singleplayer game.

    4. Games that turn your device into a pocket heater: If you want to have a longer life out of your device's battery, you should skip these. A little heating up when playing graphics intensive games is normal, but pay attention to abnormal heating and frame drops which means that the processor in your device is struggling with that particular game.

    5. Games that cause a lot of unnecessary stress for you: You might want to avoid these and play a relaxing game instead.

[REQUEST] Looking for survival games, preferably PVE

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 09:44 AM PST

Hey there! I'm looking for a PVE game (or at least one with optional PVP), multiplayer or singleplayer, in the survival genre, doesn't matter if in an apocalypse setting or not. What I would love is a game that allows me to farm, fish, mine, hunt, build and explore. If it is multiplayer, it should have personal areas, not allowing items to be stolen from those areas, and trading would be interesting too. I'm not really into fantasy games, but I'm always open to try new things. Even that I'm interested on a mobile game, if you know one for PC, feel free to recommend please! (if that isn't against the sub rules of course)

For those interested in the same things, I can recommend such games as Minecraft, The Blockheads, Day R Survival or Last Day on Earth:Survival. The problem with the last one is the constant need for attention, because of the hordes, ect... and PVP of course, but I think it's worth a try. Durango was probably the nearest to this type of game I remember playing, but they shut its servers down.

    Thank you for your help!

Was wondering if this is possible / is it restricted to certain games? I've played Eternium on both Android on PC, but that was more officially offered through the windows store.

[REQUEST] Game like Clash of Clans, but more pixel based?

    Posted: 28 Feb 2020 04:52 PM PST

I'm looking for a particular game that I used to play, but can't remember the name of. It had base building lile Clash of Clans, but it was pixel based in design. The game had you based on a floating island, with building like catapults and ballistas. Kind of an ancient civilization being rebuilt setring. The thing you would click on to go to the battle menu was a ship with a massive balloon on it on the right of the screen. There was a feature were you could customize you troops, being able to change the full design of the troops. There were troops like shields, archers, ninjas, and samurai. You can share your troop designs and let others use them.
