Can I somehow prove that I haven't deleted any photos in the last two months? (Galaxy S9)

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 03:07 AM PST

Disclaimer: I know this isn't /r/legaladvice and you can't provide legal advice, I'm just wondering about whether this is hypothetically possible or definitely impossible.

I'm currently involved in a legal dispute in which someone in my neighborhood is claiming the only reason they assaulted me and threatened to kill me is because I follow them around constantly taking photos of them and threaten to kill him when he asks me to stop, which is untrue. (The reality, I believe, is that they're a heavy meth user who has latched onto me in some fit of paranoia after seeing me around regularly, but apparently my suggesting this isn't enough for them to get drug tested.)

Then I thought... I basically never delete photos. I definitely haven't deleted any in the last few months. Is there any way I can provide the court with my phone and say "Look, not a single photo of them, and nothing deleted in months", which they can consider reliable? I use a Samsung Galaxy S9 with the default camera app and Google Photos, and it's not rooted or anything like that. I know it produces files with incrementing names like IMG_5000, IMG_5001, etc. If there's a continuous run from say 5000 (a year ago) and 6000 (today) with no gaps is that proof nothing in the interim got deleted?

How to disable "Slow Charging" notification?

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 02:00 AM PST

The slow charging notification is extremely instrusive. I know it is slow charging, I don't need to know every 5 seconds. I don't need to know when i plug it into lower amp charger. I do not need a notification if the port is jiggle a bit and I certainly do not need to know when I'm doing something on the phone while charging.

I just want the notification to stop. I have googled this shit to death. I have looked through the entire list of apps notifications settings including system apps. I don't need a new charger. I don't need a new cable. I don't need advice on how to charge my phone properly. Just tell me where the fuck in the labyrinth of settings to disable this most useless, anger inducing feature of this entire fucking platform.

Can't get correct date set automatically?

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 09:11 AM PST

I'm 30, I'd consider myself fairly tech savvy. Today (Saturday the 29th) when I woke up my phone showed it was Friday the 28th. Still says the year 2020 though. I'm unable to send texts when it's set to the date automatically, the only time it is set to the correct date is if I do it manually, and when set to that I can SEND but not receive texts or calls. I've tried taking the battery and sim card out for an hour, didn't change anything. I've gone through the time and date settings, made sure my location was on, tried airplane mode, wifi on or off, data and network set on or off, nothing makes it correctly set the date automatically.

EDIT: updating PRL fixed the issue. My bad.

So, what the heck is going on? Any suggestions?

A non cloud, basic photo viewer, does that exist ?

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 06:45 AM PST

I recently upgraded to Android 9, the last phone I has had a native non cloud gallery application that I used.

Now on this version there is only google photo and its cloud and AI stuff that I don't need or want.

Is there a basic photo viewer application on the app store ?

If anyone can tell me what is that

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 08:50 AM PST

recently I've been hearing some random giggles and girls laughter on my phone (Galaxy S9+)

It happens whether I am playing something like a video or playing a song or even if my phone is completely silent and I am just using it.

So I was wondering if anyone has experienced such issue before or any ideas about what can this be or a solution

    thanks in advance :)

Where is the task manager in Galaxy s10?

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 08:33 AM PST

My Verizon Galaxy s10+ has recently been going very slow. Apps take forever to respond and load. I did a factory reset and it was back to its fast speed but then again it's been slowing down. I want to see what apps are taking most of the memory but there isn't a task manager in the settings. I know they had this option back in the s7 or s8 but I guess they got rid of it. Where do I go to see how much of the system memory and CPU is being used without downloading any 3rd party software.

Edit: the phone also gets hot when not in use

I just buy phones and use them as it is. I dont know what applications to trust or download what usb drivers i need and all sort of stuff. I also need to get phone's stock rom but i dont know what to trust (phone uses MT6582 chipset btw). And i dont want to brick the phone :)

    Passing data via NFC

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 11:41 AM PST

Hi guys! I am a newbie and continuing to discover Android OS. This time I have a problem with NFC module on the board of my phone. I am using it for debugging and testing apps. But I have stuck this time trying to understand how does NFC data transfer works. From phone and back I understand nothing according to this question. Did anybody deal with this? Can you please give me any links where I can get information about this question step by step? Let it be format "for dummies", but I want to get any useful tutor. Cause official Android developer site can't give me knowledge comparable to my level Thank you in advance!

Help- how to minimise notification so info doesn't show on tray

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 05:40 AM PST

Hi, so I know how to silent and minimise a notification but i want the minimised action so that I don't see the content if I drag down the tray quickly, but i still want to be notified of the notification. This was happening with direct messages on instagram right up until yesterday when I accidentally uninstalled it and now I can not get that notification setting back. I either get the notification coming through but when dragging down the tray see the message, or I don't get the notification at all but if I drag down the tray the notification is there and minimised. Did I glitch the system the last time? As I can not find a way to be notified of a notification, but not see the content in the tray unless I press the drop down arrow. Help. I have people accessing my phone that i don't want to easily be able to read content of notifications but i also don't want to not be notified! Thanks.

Using Google Assistant on a locked device

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 05:19 AM PST

I'm having trouble using Google Assistant when my device is inadvertently locked. I set up Smart Lock to unlock my device when I am home (via map/GPS) but it apparently unlocks inconsistently. I only ever use the assistant at home for my lights and blinds. Every now and then, seemingly randomly, Google would tell me "you need to unlock your device first", which is quite frustrating. What am I missing?

    Matte screen protector recommendation

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 10:57 AM PST

I just got a Gadgetshieldz matte protector for my S10 Plus and the application looks perfect. When viewing dark colours it looks fine, but light colours, especially a white background, shows a significant amount of "RGB shimmer" across the entirety of the screen.

Looking more into some other matte protectors, it seems this is a common problem.

Has anyone found a matte protector that has a clean matte/satin finish without any shimmer?

I wish screens were just matte in the first place...

Is it possible to get a virus from allowing notifications on Chrome?

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 06:44 AM PST

I was trying to watch movies and this site kept asking me for the allow notifications. I accidentally hit Allow and it sent like 3 "your device is infected" notifications. I disabled the website and the message hasn't come back. Am I safe?
