I just received the new Play Store interface, I really love it.

    Things I like:

    - Beautiful interface

    - Better organized

    - When you are inside an app, it shows at the bottom the rest of the apps made by the developer.

    - The "My Apps" section now shows the apps I had previously installed or the ones installed on my other devices.

    Things I don't like:

    - I have to click more than once to get to the search icon, in the previous version I had to click up once.

    - It's hard to tell when I'm over the search icon and settings icon, they should change of color or something.

    - The search window in the previous interface had empathized the voice search, now it opens the keyboard instead.

Latest version of Amazon Prime 4.14.3 finally works OK on MiBox S

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 02:49 AM PST

https://prime-video-android-tv.en.aptoide.com/ I've been using some old 4.11.4 version for ages, yet the latest update seems to work as well, even seeing Ultra HD for some of the content. p.s. I'm not on the Pie beta.

Shield VS MiBox - Plex streaming speeds?

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 06:52 AM PST

I've had the MiBox S for a while now, and it works ok, what was curious if the streaming or buffering would be a lot faster on the Nvidia shield. More specifically, fast forwarding or rewinding tends to take a bit of time on the MiBox, even with a good 5ghz ubiquiti wireless setup. I know it's and expensive box for not running Plex server or playing games on, but I'm fine with getting it on sale if it would mean any faster and smoother Plex client (id be hard wiring the shield)

Accessing Android TV USB HDD remotely

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 03:06 AM PST

I'm about to move house and looking to re-arrange my media. I currently have an Alfawise H96+ Android box connected to my TV which is running Kodi/Libreelec.

Is it possible to remotely transfer files from my home PC to the USB hard drive attached to the Android box? Or am I easier just moving the hard drive and copying the files over physically?

I have no idea how to use the 'TV Guide' app, has anyone ever got more than just the default Play Movies & TV on it?

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 04:43 AM PST

Android for Sony Bravia has a 'TV Guide' for streaming channels but there is no option at all to add any streaming channels so there only think on this guide is Play Movies & TV from Google.

Is this a failed app that never got support after it was first released or is there a guide to turn this app into a fully functioning TV Guide?

    Hey All,

Looking for a quick recommendation for a cheap android box.

    Cheap (less than $50 USD)

Analog A/V Out (Bonus points if you've tested it yourself)

SD Netflix capable (over the analog out)

    USB/SD input for additional media

This is for an in-car entertainment system.

    Thanks!

How do I know if my Android TV is compatible with Alexa?

    Posted: 15 Nov 2019 03:28 PM PST

I'm looking for some deals on 55" Smart TVs and I want one that's compatible with my Amazon Echo Dot. Right now I'm looking at a refurbished 55" 4k Sharp Smart Tv Hdr Full Hd (LC-55Q7530U) at approximately USD354 vs a new Smart Tv Hisense Led 4k 55" with Roku (55R6E) at approx USD365.

Approximately because its actually in mexican pesos.

Any advise would be great! I'm new at this stuff
