    Posted: 02 May 2022 10:26 AM PDT

I updated the latest patch just today. But it stops loading any data after updating while the Wi-Fi connection is still fine. It works again after restart but the problem comes 10 minutes after every restarts. Any clue? How to roll back to the previous firmware version? Thanks!

The patches says to update the following.

    --------------------

    680 MB

Security Patch Level Update (Feb 2022)

    WPA3 Support Patches Update

    HBO Max Button Fix

I've made a small project website for Kodi Tutorials, installs, android TV mods, and more!

    Posted: 01 May 2022 05:50 PM PDT

Hey guys! I've started making a site with some content I've been filming lately regarding Kodi installs with awesome skins, all sorts of addons, debrid services and more as well as other Android Streaming apps. I also have a video or 2 on modding the Onn Walmart 4K box (20$) -- please check it out! I also have a telegram for it too:

    Remote setup for unlisted tv

    Posted: 02 May 2022 04:09 AM PDT

I recently bought two Onn tvs and connected the first to my Samsung tv, no issues but my second tv is a Blaupunkt and isn't listed on the screen for the remote setup, so I can't control anything with the remote. I thought Blaupunkt would be a well known electrical brand. Is there a way to get this setup anyway?

    Best Streaming Device Performance

    Posted: 01 May 2022 09:22 PM PDT

    Hello,

I am looking to get a streaming device for my tv but I hate using slow ui which is the current problem I am having with my old fire stick, I noticed on newer steaming sticks the performance is still pretty slow.

I am wandering if installing android tv on an old pc would be a better option than buying a streaming device like a fire stick or something. I am just looking for the best performance so I don't have to deal with slow ui anymore.

Update to ADT-3 downgraded me from the new Google TV UI back to the Android TV UI.

    Posted: 01 May 2022 08:29 AM PDT

    Hey everyone,

I have an ADT-3, and I manually upgraded it to Google TV 12. Google TV is the new UI that will eventually replace the tried and true Android TV UI that most other TVs and boxes use.

Everything was going well for the past couple months but I got an update this morning that downgraded me back to the Android TV UI. Has this happened to anyone else?

I'm guessing that it's probably because the build number is newer (adt3-stt1.211025.001.z4) than the Google TV build (adt3_gtv-stt1.211025.001.z3) which is why the box saw it as an upgrade.

How to download the amazon app store on Google TV?

    Posted: 01 May 2022 07:11 AM PDT

I want to install the FireTV app store on the CCWGTV, so I can search for the Channel 4 app.

Is this possible? I could only find the mobile APK.

vpn + drm + chromecast = not working...

    Posted: 01 May 2022 04:59 PM PDT

    Hi,

I am trying to watch films from the uk-based channel 4 streaming service on my tv.

I am however not located in the uk, so I use a vpn.

On my pc everything works, but as I said I want to watch it on my tv, so I have tried to chromecast from a chrome browser running on my pc (that is able to play the movie) to my tv.

The tv is visible as a chromecast device and I can connect to it, when I do that while the movie is playing I get a picture on my tv but the movie does not play on my tv.

I never really understood how chromecast actually works, so I am not sure if what I want to do is actually achievable.

So my question: Should it be possible to chromecast a drm protected stream that is accessed via a vpn from a pc to the tv?

If so, what do I need to do to make it work?

    Many thanks!

Is there any way to at the very least install some common streaming apps on what I presume is a Linux TV system?

    Posted: 01 May 2022 04:35 PM PDT

I found and bought an extremely cheap used Sony KD55X7055. Since it has HDR support, albeit limited I purchased a Realme 4K stick which for its price it would be a great way to modernize the UI of the TV.

What I have concluded after hours of troubleshooting is that while the Realme stick supports HDR10 I have to choose some advanced features on the hdmi-port I use for my media stick to get an HDR signal on YouTube for example. However, when I do it this way all SDR content gets impressively grainy and bland in its color output.

However, if I use the YouTube app on my TV there seems to be a seamless understanding of the source and adjusts appropriately.

Installed apps on the TV are Netflix (not a big fan of them at the moment), Amazon Prime Video (the app was released before their name change) and YouTube.

The capability is clearly there but it seems to be a terrible tactic to force customers to buy a new TV whenever the app landscape changes.

ONN 4K streaming box (Android TV)

    Posted: 01 May 2022 02:34 PM PDT

I have the ONN Android TV "WATCH" installed and also added a ONN Watch indoor dual color amplified antenna. I set up the a Android tv and then added the antenna and did a channel scan. I have a bunch of local channels when I switch source to antenna... cool. My issue... I'm trying to utilize the "live TV" app on the android tv app to scan local channels so o don't have to switch sources. I'm seeing videos online of people running a channel scan... I'm dead in the water. Any help?? I see no way to do add antenna channels from the Live TV app from the play store.

Would I need a Firestick if I bought this tv, or any tv with android OS?

    Posted: 01 May 2022 10:43 AM PDT

I'm still using an old 720p plasma. I have a Firestick plugged in to use Tivimate, Prime, YT and CinemaHD mainly

If I bought an Android TV (like the one linked) would I be able to down/sideload these apps? The specs say nothing about storage etc

How to use Netflix on Xiaomi Mi 4K laser projector

    Posted: 01 May 2022 01:51 AM PDT

I know there was a thread on this here, but it is eleven months old, and things may have changed.

I just bought the above projector here in Europe, updated it to the latest software and wanted to install Netflix from Play Store, but it is shown as not found.

I tried to cast Netflix from my phone over the built in Chromecast and Google Home (I even added the G account especially created for my projector to my existing G account on GHome), but the projector never appears in the list of devices I can cast to, only in G Home.

I then side-loaded an old Netflix APK from here. It worked, although with several extra steps where I was asked to update the app (I didn't). Also, it seems that the resolution is not the highest possible, and films cannot be paused with the Mi remote. Finally (and a great inconvenience), Netflix does not appear anywhere in the list of apps, so presumably it will have to be "staged" on an ad hoc basis from the stick every time I want to watch it. Hardly an option for the kids.

I am thinking now if I should get myself some other intermediary device to cast/play Netflix on, so that the projector only acts as a screen. I use Chromecast on my old TV in another room. If I simply plug it into the projector, will it:

    1) work considering that the projector has its own Chromecast built in,

    2) recognise the projector and prevent playback?

Alternatively, is there another cheap device to play Netflix on?

    Thanks.
