Phone alarm playing on multiple speakers simultaneously Posted: 08 Sep 2021 09:10 AM PDT I sleep with my phone playing static over a Bluetooth speaker, and I also use my phone as my alarm. I'm having an issue where when the alarm plays it plays over both the Bluetooth speaker and the phone's integrated speaker. I want it to play over the Bluetooth speaker only. It does interrupt the "music" playback, which is good, but due to the latency of the Bluetooth speaker it ends up playing with a terrible echo and just sounds awful. Is there any way to force the clock app to play alarms over Bluetooth only, if a Bluetooth speaker is connected (or to play only on the actively selected media output device)? I'm using the default clock app on a Oneplus 5 running Android 10. I'm not terribly excited about changing apps, if that can be avoided. [link] [comments] |
The circuit board of my Galaxy S7 Edge is broken. Any way to recover my photos? Posted: 08 Sep 2021 01:53 AM PDT I dropped my phone a few days ago. It turned off and I turned it back on like everything was fine. Until it wasn't. A few hours later when i checked my phone it was not working. No screen, no charging, nothing. I went to a repairman and he said the circuit board is broken and replaced it with a new one. I kept the old one. Anyway, now everything in my phone is gone. How can i recover my photos? I haven't used Google Photos since June. After the unlimited trial is over. No photos are backed up. (Excuse me if my grammar is bad, I live in Mongolia) [link] [comments] |
Brand new Tablet Samsung Tab A7 Lite lagging? Posted: 08 Sep 2021 09:10 AM PDT Updated system, apps, disabled and uninstalled these that I don't need, did a restart and... it's still laggy, every app opens slowly, google maps are lagging as hell, even when opening the menu apps sliding animation is like at 10fps. WHY is that? [link] [comments] |

AP Fastboot Flash Mode (Secure) - After update Posted: 08 Sep 2021 12:08 PM PDT - I might have chosen the wrong Flair - I was able to use it for the whole 2nd half of the day. This morning it woke up with this message in the title. I found this advise from 4 years ago: "The AP Fastboot Flash mode(secure) seems okay to me. However it is highly possible that your drivers aren't installed on the phone. So in this case try to first connect the phone to the computer and see if it get's detected or not, and then you should manually install the fastboot USB driver. Download the driver zip from Google's repository and extract it, later choose the .inf file and then the Android Bootloader Interface. https://dl-ssl.google.com//android/repository/latest_usb_driver_windows.zip PS: This driver and the fastboot adb binaries are completely different thing. fastboot won't work unless you have this USB driver." --------------------------------------------------- Would it still be good today? Thank you in advance guys :) [link] [comments] |

Posted: 08 Sep 2021 11:52 AM PDT So I have a 100 Mbps broadband connection at home. Taking into account the limitations of a wireless signal, I'm supposed to getting anywhere from 75-85 Mbps on WiFi and close to a 100 on wired internet. This is where the problem comes in. All my android phones max out at 50 Mbps. This is considering me being practically right beside the router and with no other significant load on the network. I've tested about three different phones and all of them show network Speeds from 35-50 Mbps. I did call my ISP and confirm that I was on a 100 Mbps plan, and to make matters more confusing my iPhone 11 very clearly reads 85+ Mbps each time I test it. So I've come to the conclusion that the Androids have smthn capping their network speeds. I've delved through all connection settings and haven't found anything worthwhile. Please give me some thoughts on this. All help is appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Not Receiving Texts on New Phone Posted: 08 Sep 2021 07:54 AM PDT I switched from a Pixel 3 to Xperia 1 iii on Spectrum Mobile. Spectrum recognizes either phone when the SIM is installed. Either phone can make calls, receive calls, use mobile data or send text messages. Only the old Pixel will receive text messages. I have tried sending them from both other androids and from iphones to no avail. The texts never show up on the xperia. If I plug the SIM back into the Pixel it gets bombarded with any texts I have received while the SIM is in the Xperia. Does this seem like a carrier issue or an android issue? Anyone have any leads to follow. Ive reboot and reset network settings many times. [link] [comments] |
Samsung Galaxy J3 Luna Pro version 6.0.1 How to get NEW wired headphones to work? Posted: 08 Sep 2021 11:14 AM PDT Hope you are well! I've never used any headphones for my phone before. I just tried them on my computer. They work. i thought as simply as soon as I inserted them into my phone, I could start playing music like the beatles on youtube. I played a song and nothing happened, well except for the fact that the song played like usual and I could hear it while my headphones were on lol! I bought JBUDS Pro from JLAB. It says on box goes with Sart Assistant Androids + Apple. Thanks in advance! :) [link] [comments] |

Camera question: importance of OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) Posted: 08 Sep 2021 09:54 AM PDT I am looking to upgrade my lg g6, and I think i am going to go with a samsung phone due to their promised 3 years of software updates. Unfortunately, verizon only supports the samsung a42 5g, which does not have OIS. I dont shoot many videos, but do often take photos, especially of scenery and my cat. Do you think I will notice the lack of OIS going from my current phone with OIS? Aside from that, the A42 5G seems like an upgrade [link] [comments] |
Posted: 08 Sep 2021 09:37 AM PDT I have a OnePlus N10. I am unable to hear anyone when they call me, but they can hear me. All other sounds (i.e. notifications and app sounds) work fine. Call volume is on the max setting. I am on T-Mobile. [link] [comments] |
Potentially managing a large number of tablets. Posted: 08 Sep 2021 09:35 AM PDT The study I work for is planning to respond to an RFP which, if we are awarded, will send hundreds of health interviewers into the field to meet with participants. We're looking to procure 300-400 tablets for this. The preference had been for iPads, but now they want Android tablets considered. I suppose that's fortunate, because I am an Android user so am more comfortable with the OS and user experience, though I don't own any tablets. My questions then are, is it feasible to do the following with a fleet of remote Android tablets:
I know this is a tablet/device discussion, but it's high-level at this point, so am hoping it's suitable for this sub. Really appreciative! [link] [comments] |
Random people answering calls to what should be secure lines. Surely a virus? Posted: 08 Sep 2021 01:06 AM PDT I just received a worried call from my father, and after hearing about what's going on, I'm worried too. Twice today my father on his galaxy s20fe has had some very strange occurrences. First, while calling the director of medicine of a large public hospital on their fixed line an unfamiliar voice answered. Dad asked "is this directorguy?" as he knew it was not, and the voice answered yes before hanging up. This conversation was heard by the actual director of medicine, so it did ring the correct number etc, but actual director was not able to be heard by my father. A similar thing happened upon calling my brother. Dad called him, but it didn't go through. My brother received a call from dads number, but some random lady was on the other line. Please help. He's cancelled CC's etc, but what to do from here? Is it the phone? Surely it is? If so, is it recoverable, or better to just destroy it? I've heard of these sophisticated viruses getting deeper than is wipeable. Is that the case? Thank you for reading Update. His Google account seemed to be compromised as his passwords don't work. Changed and 2fa activated. Using a temp phone until a firmware reset can be done. Crazy shit all the same as for an old bloke he's super savvy. Edited for clarity and correct phone model [link] [comments] |
Android hides folders in Android/data. Posted: 08 Sep 2021 02:02 AM PDT Hello, I have noticed that I am short on folders in the Android/data location. On my previous phone, Samsung galaxy S8+, I could access the folders but now there are 0 available on Android 11. I can access the folder from my PC (screenshot links below). Data folder on my phone is empty. Here my phone technical information: Screenshots for visual: I am very techincal and I know my way around android but I can not seem to find anyway on how to access the folders that are not showing anymore. They are not hidden, I have turned on that option. I could access those folders via PC like as seen in the screenshots. My colleague who develops in Android say's this is a change since the latest Android version but doesn't know what to do in order to get all the folders to show again. I have not changed any settings in my phone If anyone has any suggestions or what to look for please post. This is a frustrating matter. [link] [comments] |
Search into an excel file with a Google lens like app? Or even better with Google lens? Posted: 08 Sep 2021 07:42 AM PDT I'm trying to find a app that can scan barcode, qr code look into a file and show me the line data. I tried few but they never do what I want. The best would be to do it with lens but I don't think it's possible. For now I'm using a scan to clipboard app and the excel app. [link] [comments] |
Android 11: App Notification types Posted: 08 Sep 2021 06:46 AM PDT Hi, I've bought a Pixel 4a yesterday to replace my Galaxy S7 Edge and there's a lot of new stuff for me to figure out. What annoys me atm is that the Google Assistant seems to send a notification about the current (!) weather every freakin' day. Like why would I want a f***ing notification about how the weather is right now? So I wanted to turn this specific notification - the daily weather - off and found several tutorials, like this one here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y068vGkazcU The problem is that my settings look completely different and I cannot turn off the daily weather specifically, just all Assistant notifications, which I do not want: https://imgur.com/a/98a3Cbh Does anyone know why and how to solve this? Thanks a bunch! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 08 Sep 2021 06:29 AM PDT I got a galaxy a42 5g a day ago and the volume button wont change with one press. I have to hold down the volume button for 3 seconds for it to change. Is there a setting to change this or is this a defect that can be fixed. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 08 Sep 2021 05:02 AM PDT My alarm tones just changed on me out of nowhere. Im one of those that has the first alarm 1 and a half hours before I have to be at work, then every 5 minute interval in between. So roughly 18 different alarms all with different tones, so as to tell the time by tone without looking. Plus some other random ones. That I use outside of my daily morning routine. A handful of them had the tone change on them overnight. I didn't think anything of it, as I had some system updates, so surely they were just some stock alarms that maybe got swapped out for something else. However. These are weird ones. Multiple have the sound of like a geiger counter. Some with slow low tone pops. Some with rapid high tone clicks. All of those have a tone name similar to effect_HW, or effect_EW. There is one called submarine that sounds like a cartoon spaceship taking off. I had some labled emergency_alert, that sound just like and amber alert. One called glass thats hard to describe. One called continuous_shot_last, that I havent heard yet. I looked thinking maybe some of these new stock tones would be cool, and it didn't really like any of the weird ones. However none of these are on the list of stock alarm tones, and I havent downloaded any different ones so I have no idea where thes come from. I cant even see them to select them. Anyone know whats going on? Or dealing with the same thing. [link] [comments] |

Is 6gb of ram enough these days in a smarthone? Posted: 07 Sep 2021 10:39 PM PDT I just bought a OnePlus 6t used for a really good price It's in excellent condition. But it's only the 6gb ram version. I could've gotten one that was more scuffed up but with 8gb ram for around the price. The phone is lightning fast [link] [comments] |
