What phones are most likely to get Material You? Posted: 26 Aug 2021 10:01 AM PDT As the Pixel phones are not easily obtainable internationally, what current flagships do you think will get proper Material You support? It seems OnePlus is heading in another direction with their Oxygen OS for Android 12, but Samsung's One UI 4 is actually coming closer to Google's look and feel from what I've read. The phone series I'm personally most interested in are:

First impressions RAZR 5G to Z Flip 3 Posted: 26 Aug 2021 09:52 AM PDT So my new flip got delivered last night and I've been messing with it for a few hours now. Overall it seems like a good upgrade over the RAZR 5G, it feels more solidly built, especially the screen. Overall the build quality is probably the biggest improvement. My biggest nitpick is with the notifications on the cover screen. They don't seem to be interactive outside just dismissing them. On the RAZR 5G I would get 2FA notifications that I could accept directly on the cover screen, as far as I can tell I can't do that on the Flip. I can see the notification but I can't accept the request without opening the phone. There is definitely room on the cover screen so hopefully that's something they fix. Also in general I would like to see more customization and better app support with the cover screen [link] [comments]

Detect apps that slow down your phone Posted: 27 Aug 2021 01:53 AM PDT Today i removed WPS office suite after I noticed that it creates a shortcut to its 'notes' sub-app when selecting some text resulting in a much quicker phone overall. I see that google translate offers the same kind of shortcut although it looks like it does not affect performances (google might be more experienced at writing apps for Android :-) I was wondering if there is way to detect apps that make your phone slower, besides bad reviews about apps. Maybe the play store might alert the possibility of this kind of issue ? It could create a sort of ⭐ review section which reports apps impact on phone speed. [link] [comments]
