| Where to find hardware specs for Android TV Posted: 07 Jul 2021 08:44 PM PDT Is there a website or blog post where I can find hardware specs for a certain Android TV like CPU, memory, internal storage, etc. Basically the info given by Aida64. I am trying to decide between getting the TCL 43S434 or the Hisense 43A68G and I wanted to check the hardware specs for at least these 2 models. [link] [comments] | ||

| How to rename a recording on Sony Bravia Android TV Posted: 08 Jul 2021 08:53 AM PDT Hi, I have an issue on my Android TV, Sony Bravia KD-49X8305C. There is no way to rename recordings (that are often named badly, especially if you start the recording 5 minutes before the actual program). From the beginning I've pushed Sony to add the feature, but it was always rejected. On Sony community, I can see we are a lot to complains, in all countries, but Sony does not move an inch. I've investigated, and it seems that for some Sony TVs, modifying a simple SQLite database is the solution. Unfortunately, my Android TV is not based on that architecture. I don't see a SQLite file, but many folders named by Channel number (eg CH6 = chanel number 6) ; each containing groups of 4xfiles. Exemple for a recording of channel 6 scheduled at 2021/june/28th at 19h44 :
Is it a known format on reddit ? Else, would someone be able to help, understand the files syntax of the 3 first files and identify where to rename the recordings ? [link] [comments] | ||
| [Mi Stick TV] Error installing system update Posted: 07 Jul 2021 03:39 PM PDT Someone knows a solution to this problem? I updated my stick tv and now it just says "Installing System Update" forever. There is a on moving circle, but nothing happens. And I can't do a hard reset. [link] [comments] | ||

| Any reason to wait for the new Google TV TCL models vs buying now? Posted: 07 Jul 2021 03:48 PM PDT Hi y'all, is there any reason to wait for the upcoming TCL models with Google TV—rather than just buy the TCL tv I want, and adding a CCwGTV now? Maybe the TVs with GT built into the tv tend to work better… or maybe they're actually worse, I can't tell from forums. Do I get any additional features/benefits when the OS is built into the TV? I suppose it would save me money/clutter if I had the new set all together vs buying the CCwGTV and Ethernet adapter. But I don't really know when the new TVs will drop (supposed to be soon, but not sure which models). I'm a new tv buyer and I want everything to work really well… thanks in advance for helping me not screw it up :) [link] [comments] | ||
| Programming harmony remote App shortcuts on Sony Android TV Posted: 07 Jul 2021 10:18 AM PDT Hello, so I was hoping that someone might be able to help with my current problem. I am attempting to program my Logictech Harmony Remote to have shortcuts to open up different android Apps on the TV. Now so far all of the information I have seen regarding this sort of setup pertains to using the Nvidia Shield and programming the shield's function keys to act as shortcuts using Button Mapper, then setting the function keys on the harmony remote. Now I have managed to program the function keys into the TV by using a wired keyboard to set the keys, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the harmony remote to send those commands. (yes I do know that I could probably use the numpad as the keys, but that could break other things on the remote, hence my reluctance to do so. ) [link] [comments] | ||
| shield TV Power adapter - how do i test if it's faulty? Posted: 07 Jul 2021 10:10 AM PDT Hi all.. My 2017 Shield is no longer turning on. I have a multimeter and would like to know how to test the power adapter as I think/hope it might be to blame. I plugged the power adapter into a power outlet, switched it on, touched the live probe to the adapter's connector's inside (though it's very narrow so not sure if it made proper contact) and the negative probe to the connector's outer metal surface. I got 0.000 reading. I think I'm doing it wrong. Could someone please advise. Thanks [link] [comments] | ||

| Can't watch Android TV when uploading photos. Help please. Posted: 07 Jul 2021 08:34 AM PDT I have DSL internet and every time I upload photos to cloud, internet goes to a crawl and you can't watch anything streaming on android tv at the same time. It just buffers like crazy until the upload is complete. Is this normal? Using speed test: download speed is 16.5 Megabits per second. Upload 0.7 Mbps. I would like to setup my internet so I can continue watching android tv, and make the upload bandwidth stay in check. Thanks for any suggestions in advance. [link] [comments] | ||
| An issue with my Phillips Android TV. Any help would be much appreciated. Posted: 07 Jul 2021 08:04 AM PDT Today when my wife went to turn our TV on. The TV was giving off sound but no video. I tried my Xbox which is on HDMI 2, same problem. I then tried the DVD player which uses composite cables and all works fine. I then use the TVs remote to access my apps and they all work as well. It seems like any HDMI port on the TV will give off sound but no picture. I've tried swapping wires and turning off the tv for a few minutes then back on with no luck. The TV is less than a month old. Does anyone have any suggestions? Edit: we've went into the settings and saw the backlight set to 0 for some reason. I raised it and still no video when I went to HDMI 1. However, when I hit the home button the HDMI1 picture flashes for a split second before switching to the Home Screen. [link] [comments] | ||
