| Is there a way to remove a bricked Android 9 phone from My Devices on Google Play? Posted: 21 Jul 2021 10:13 AM PDT I used to have a phone that I have damaged with a high current but low safety charger, this is my bad. The device is bricked and I cannot turn it on and unregister from the Google Play services in a normal way. The device is still sitting in My Devices list at the Google Play and there is no "Remove" button. At the Google Play I have seen a number of similar or identical questions from various other Android users and even upvoted those, though without any hope. My quest would not be complete without asking for the advice of respected redditors. | Posted: 21 Jul 2021 04:07 AM PDT I viewed a few pics on XHamster. Next day I tried to download a pdf file on my Samsung A10 android phone, and guess what...up popped the Xhamster plague. I was able to leave the page, but next time I tried to download the same pdf file, the little xhamster bastard popped up again.Surely there is a way to permanently get rid of it. The phone itself states only 18GB has been used during this time. I suppose it's safe to say there's something infecting my phone? [link] [comments] |
| Looking for alternative email app Posted: 21 Jul 2021 12:27 PM PDT Hi all, I just upgraded to S21 from S8 but on both devices I've had this issue: I have 3 emails I need to track daily, including one gmail account. I've historically used Outlook and been okay with it. Over the past couple years (and including my new upgrade) the syncing is all over the place. The main issue is that I'll get a new email. Click on it to mark it read, then a few hours later if I get another email (even to one of my other accounts) I get a push notification for that older email. Yes it's marked read. I'm sick of it. | Posted: 21 Jul 2021 11:12 AM PDT Hi! I have an issue with my OnePlus 3T. From time to time, the Chrome app crashes when I try to download files. Whether it's pictures, PDF, videos, you name it, it freezes then the app crashes. It's not just an issue with Chrome since all of my files can't be accessed. The File Manager app and the Gallery show no files. I noticed that the issue occurs more often when I'm using the wi-fi rather than my cellular data. The only solution I found is to turn my phone on and off but it doesn't always work and it can take a while. Do you guys have an idea of what's going on and how to fix it? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
| Problems saving images to SD card from Chrome Posted: 21 Jul 2021 10:00 AM PDT I recently purchased an SD card for my Galaxy A20, and I'm having trouble saving images to it from Chrome. If I download images from Chrome, they get saved to [SD Card]\Android\data\com.android.chrome\files\Download. Chrome knows the images are there, and if I go to that location with my phone's file browser I can see them, but they don't show up in my gallery, and if I plug my phone in to my computer and go to that location with my computer's file browser I can't see them. Photos in other locations on the SD card work as they should. For example, if I move a photo to the SD card's "Pictures" directory it correctly shows up in the gallery and on my computer. | Best custom ROM to run Libby on Nexus7? Posted: 21 Jul 2021 09:28 AM PDT Hey guys, I've posted this on r/nexus7 but figured I'd try this sub as well since that one's kinda dead. I've seen other posts about custom ROMS so I hope that's okay. I'm still using my Nexus7 as for me it's the perfect e-reader size format coupled with Moon+Reader. It's running Android 4.4.3 currently and its laggy as hell for everything else, but completely fine for reading my ePubs. I've gotten interested in a few titles that are only available through a library, and was trying to get Libby so I could read them on my nexus. Alas, I can't install it through the PlayStore because the Nexus isn't supported at this point. I have installed custom roms on a previous Nexus back in the day (CyanogenMod, probably?) but am wondering which one is the best nowadays that could help me run Libby on my dear device? Literally only need Libby and Moon+Reader. Any suggestions? [link] [comments] |

Despite that, whenever I turn my phone off and on again, no matter the time between turning it off and turning it on, it shows my the "swipe up to open" screen. I've reset my phone 3 times now, and the lock only seems to turn back on for a couple minutes, maybe an hour at most. Despite this, the "unlock with fingerprint" thing is still active. | LG G8 ThinQ Ringer and Speaker on Calls Issue Posted: 21 Jul 2021 08:25 AM PDT If this should be in a different subreddit instead, please let me know. I've had my G8 close to 2 years now and for about a year I've noticed some weird issues happening with the audio that I haven't been able to find an answer for. My phone won't audibly ring when I receive calls, when I'm on a call and I try to switch to the speaker it goes silent, notification sounds don't come through, just the vibration, and videos on websites have a really low max volume that can really only be heard if the room is completely silent that I'm in. But when I watch videos in the YouTube app or listen to music or podcasts the volume levels are where I'd expect them to be. Alarm music work just fine. And the strangest part to me is if I go to the ringtone selection screen, I click on the ringtone name and no sound plays, but if I wait a second and click on it again, it does play. The same thing happens with notification sounds in their menu. I've never changed my ringtone or notification sounds, so they're still the default, just fyi. I tried a factory reset with no luck. I did crack my screen last year in August and had it replaced in September and I believe the G8 uses its screen for some speaker functionality, but I don't know if the replacement Sprint/T-Mobile put on it would have been the cause since I didn't notice these issues until sometime after they replaced the screen. Does anyone have any clue why this would be happening and how to fix it? [link] [comments] |

Or just uninstalling the app would do? For example this is one of the commands for Naptime: adb -d shell pm grant com.franco.doze android.permission.DUMP Is replacing "grant" with "revoke" going to do the job? [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 20 Jul 2021 08:41 PM PDT So, I have a particular issue that's driving me nuts. Google Photos loves to delete photos that have been backed up. For the most part, that shouldn't be an issue, but once they're in the cloud and removed from the device, they no longer show up in the Facebook app for uploading. Which is annoying, because I hold onto memes and such. Problem is, I Google my issue and get "how to delete from phone, not the cloud" and "how to delete from cloud, not phone". I don't want to do either of those things. I want 100% of my photos and videos to be synced and in both places. Local storage is no issue (256gb of local storage, 3gb of photos and videos), and I'm tired of having to go into photos and re-downloading whenever I want to use a particular photo. Is there an easy way to prevent Google Photos from removing synced photos and re-download my backups? [link] [comments] |

After some digging in the settings, I saw that the option to change the voicemail number is greyed out and cannot be changed. Is there a way to do it through ADB?
