| Change screen resolution without root? MHL cable to TV question. Posted: 27 Jul 2021 08:43 AM PDT I have an MHL cable going from my S20 Ultra to a 1080p TV. My primary use is playing from my Plex server to the TV (no wifi for the TV, using my phones data or Plex sync). This works, but the resolution of the phone is greater than 1080p and I can't seem to find a way of changing it when using the MHL cable without rooting my phone. Any suggestions? [link] [comments] |

I have a Samsung galaxy a30s with android 10... My phone has already updated once to android 11 but I "downgraded" or should I say upgraded back to android 10 via Odin... one month after the update and I hated android 11... storage access not working... bluetooth controllers not working... horrible gaming performance compared to android 10... android 11 is shit... now my phone keeps getting the update notification... | Charging issue with Galaxy S10e Posted: 27 Jul 2021 08:40 AM PDT It just started today, with no software updates recently, but when I go to charge my phone, at low percentage, it gets close to saying "24 hours to 100%" (and does seem to actually charge that slow) until I restart it while on the charger and it goes back to normal fast charging time. If I remove the phone from the charger and then replace it, I then have to restart it again for it to charge correctly. Any advice on what to try to fix this issue? [link] [comments] |

Now, if I reset the sounds to default, they just all change to the notification tone I chose. I found some facebook messenger ding sounds on Zedge, but they're all highly distorted. If I am signed into any other network (even my public network at home) I have no connection. I have no issues with my old phone and have tried all of the troubleshooting I can find online. The apps are called Moj, Trell, and rummytime I feel this is really sleezy and preditory behaviour by samsung and I hope the guy who thought of this idea spills black coffee on his white shirt. Any clue how to turn this off? I've tried disabling the Samsung app store but seems like they enable it after every update. This mostly happens when I update but sometimes happens for no reason. Posted: 27 Jul 2021 09:29 AM PDT For S21 Ultra: So, I put my sim card pin in the wrong slot next to the sim card reader and pressed very firmly (like you do with the sim card reader). I felt a distinct popping feeling and then the phone vibrated. I asked support chat and they said that there's nothing wrong with the phone and that it only vibrated to inform me that it was the wrong hole. But that popping feeling still has me suspicious. I've heard that it's supposed to be impossible to puncture the water resistant safeguard with the pin from jerryrigeverything. | Pixel 3a Auto Unlocking / Pressing Notification Posted: 27 Jul 2021 09:27 AM PDT Pixel 3a - Android 11 Keeps auto pressing notifications when I receive one, on the lock screen and opening them, how do I stop it? It doesn't happen on every notification, and is very random when it does it. It doesn't seem to matter if smart unlock is enabled or not, because if it requires the passcode then it opens up the pin entry bit you normally get by swiping up. Any ideas? I've tried disabling any apps that can access notifications, and removed any apps that needed accessibility too, not sure what else to try. | Youtube App not working on my Galaxy A6+ Posted: 27 Jul 2021 08:26 AM PDT So about a week ago the youtube app on my phone started taking long times to load videos, about 5 minutes or more for a clip of less than a minute. But when I try to access them over mobile data instead of Wifi it works fine. A similar problem also occured in the Play Store: Apps will only download and update when I use mobile data. I already tried restarting my phone, deleted the caches of both apps, uninstalled the YT app, downloaded the latest update for YT but none of this has worked so far. All other devices in my house also work fine on Wifi, I can access youtube normally on my PC and even play videos when I use my phone's browser as opposed to the app. Any ideas on how to solve this issue? Posted: 27 Jul 2021 08:07 AM PDT Anyone know of a way to get the Google messages app to not ignore pause strings in a click to dial (Using commas as pause. For example 18001231234,,12345#)? We have a bot that will kick out an SMS with a specific callback number and string to get you to reach an agent in our call centers. This SMS works perfectly on iOS, but not on Android. We've tried different SMS apps, Google Messages directly, etc but no luck. If you click a URL in a meeting invite or email that is formatted correctly (tel:18001231234,,12345#) it'll work no problem, but the SMS totally ignores the commas and treats them as a delimiter making the telephone number and the after pause string two different items. I've tried formatting it every way possible in a SMS with no luck. Anyone run into this before? I can't believe in 2021 Google's own messages app is having this struggle. [link] [comments] |

Keyboard pops up giving me the "num-pad" version of the keyboard. So far so good. Then once i have typed the first number it switches to alphanumeric, making it hard to enter for example a number greater nine. Using Gboard. Happens only since yesterday and interestingly, happens on my GFs TLC phone also, which also installed coincidentally an update yesterday. Anybody else with that problem? [link] [comments] |

However, the notifications in the status bar display the message "enter to view the message content" when the app, corresponding to the notification, has an app lock. If I remove the app lock, the problem doesn't persist. But, is there any way I can keep the app lock and get rid of the message, and view message content in the notification bar itself. Thank you. | Posted: 26 Jul 2021 03:49 PM PDT So i recieved an Email from USPS saying there is a shipment for me but that they have problems with my address. And that they want a 2.99$ fee for that. I was stupid enough to click on the link but I did not enter my Credit card details. I closed the website and ran complete system scans with multiple antivirus apps (avira, avg etc.) and none of them found anything. I was also stupid enough to open the link on my laptop aswell and after i clicked the link all browsers started with about:blank instead of the normal homewebsite i set up. The antivirus software on my laptop also found nothing but i factory reset it to be safe. My question is: Should i also factory reset my Samsung S10+ which currently has the newest version of android installed?
