Recommendations for games like Hexonia with more modern settings?

    Posted: 27 Jul 2021 05:40 AM PDT

Polytopia and Hexonia are great, but I have played them enough to be bored with them. I love the sort of 4x lite format. Can anyone recommend something similar with modern units, like musketeers, tanks and aircraft?

Gameloft released Heroes of the Dark: A strategic RPG with PvP and PvE elements

    Posted: 27 Jul 2021 11:23 AM PDT

Gameloft SE, the well-known game developers and publishers have released a new fantasy strategy RPG game called Heroes of the Dark. Players need to work on their empire from scratch and then take on enemies by building up the strongest army they can. The game features vampires, humans, and werewolves, who are the three main groups vying for power in the dystopian world but also working together when needed.

Currently, the game is still region-locked to Bulgaria and available only on Android due to being in its early testing phases.

    Simple Games? Role-playing if possible

    Posted: 26 Jul 2021 10:32 PM PDT

So Google released a role-playing browser game to celebrate the 2020 Olympics and its hella fun, last time I had this much fun was back to the Gameboy games like Pokemon Gen 1 to Gen 4, Beyblade G-Revolution, Harvest Moon and its successor Stardew Valley. Does anyone know new games similar to these? I don't care about the graphics and genre but role-playing games are the best for me. I tried MMORPG's like Genshin but they're not for me. Thanks (sorry for the grammar and choice of words, im not fluent yet)

[REQUEST] Games with cards, preferably not as core gameplay (like ragnarok socketing cards into equipment)

    Posted: 27 Jul 2021 03:50 AM PDT

Do not be selective with your suggestions. I can tell quick if the game is what I am looking for so I would rather have 10 half decent suggestions than 1 good suggestion.

    Things I am looking for

    • highly prefer cards are not the core mechanic - I don't really like card games but I do list some card games in my "good examples" because they are single player so it is possible I could like one...
    • NO Card Roguelikes - I don't want to play a card game like Slay the Spire
    • cards obtainable without premium currency - I don't want to be forced to pay for cards
    • no pay 2 win trash - I like ragnarok the PC MMORPG but mobile versions are pay 2 win
    • art quality - I don't care if the game looks like trash

    Perfect Example:

    • Dead Shell: Roguelike RPG (mobile) - the game has card packs you open for equipment / currency but is a RPG dungeon crawler, the gameplay honestly isn't that fun but it really is so close to being perfect while also being mobile so I listed it perfect still since nothing on mobile even comes close that I've played
    • Ragnarok Online (PC MMORPG) - it is not a card game but cards are still impactful to the core gameplay like the boss card Golden Thiefbug Card, I really really do not like how hard the cards are to get but still overall this is exactly what I am looking for

    Great Examples

    • Trickster Online (PC MMORPG) - like ragnarok cards monsters drop cards but this time cards are used in a card battling system which is not as fun as socketing cards into equipment. I just read in the wiki that some cards actually teach you skills, I just read in the wiki that you can learn skills from cards which would definitely make the game a perfect example of what I am looking for, I just don't ever remember doing it so I am leaving it as "great"
    • Final Fantasy VIII (PS2) - cards are a minor part of the game but pretty fun obtaining them and battling in a simple system

    Good Examples:

    • Elements the Game (flash browser) - its a card game but singleplayer was fair, fun, and quick to learn, I just played it a minute ago and it will still fun from starting from scratch
    • Pokemon TCG for (Game Boy Color) - its a card game but singleplayer was fair, fun, and quick to learn

    Bad Examples:

    • Zen Idle - cards are not the major gameplay but you need premium currency to obtain cards
    • Hearthstone - I hate multiplayer card games
    • Ragnarok Mobile stuff - I haven't played all the ragnarok games but the ones I have played are all pay 2 win trash so it doesn't matter if they have cards or not
    • Clash Royale - if it wasn't multiplayer then I probably would give it a try but it is

[REQUEST] Looking for physics games like Angry Birds

    Posted: 27 Jul 2021 09:39 AM PDT

    Hey, everybody!

I'm looking for games where you knock down towers like Angry Birds or banghero.

If you aren't familiar with banghero, you pretty much just shoot support columns and whatnot to kill enemies. I don't necessarily want to kill stuff, more just play with the physics. Banghero suffers from repetitive level design, but is still entertaining.

As per the community rules, my three key points are:

    • Physics based, preferably knocking down structures, buildings, towers, etc.

    • Varied level design. Even better if it requires you to come up with more complex strategies as you go.

    • No energy requirements for how much you can play in a day. I'm flexible on this one since so many games use this model now. I don't mind watching ads between levels.

This kind of game was pretty popular in the days of Adobe Flash, but they seem to be more rare now.

All suggestions are welcome. I look forward to hearing what you all have to say!

    Thanks!

Dual Sense and Xbox X/S controller with PUBG mobile?

    Posted: 27 Jul 2021 08:45 AM PDT

Does it work (connect) and is it safe? I know many who play with gamepads but not sure with "real" controllers

And once in a while I hear someone got banned for using a gamepad/controller. Don't know if this is true or not for everyone or just random.

Looking for some fun, easy to learn games that play in portrait

    Posted: 26 Jul 2021 09:10 PM PDT

I vastly prefer portrait for mobile games (although I do make exceptions from time to time). And I also have like no attention span whatsoever. Lol. So the game has to be very easy to learn. So, no super long, in depth tutorials. Any suggestions? Genre doesn't matter too much. I hate platformers and strategy games but I've been known to make exceptions for them if they're very simple (for example, A Hat in Time and Soldiers Inc.).

I did and i could play just fine. Couldn't really did extensive gaming session yet because my left arm is still numb after receiving vaccine earlier but it seems to ran smooth on my Huawei Nova 5t using Kirin 980.

Looking for an old japanese-ish rpg

    Posted: 27 Jul 2021 01:26 AM PDT

So I've been tryinh to find this for a super long time, but all the search results either end up with nothing or a netflix series. In the game you play a boy that was raised by wolves and then captured/saved by a prince(?) You then became his friend and bodyguard. The game began on a trainings field/military camp to the left or top of the square. You then chose your class (I remember mage and archer, but there must have been a melee class) and you had to deliver a message in the Palace. The square had a big fountain but thats almost every game. Eventually you went down from the screen and had to do all kinds of quests from an escort quest to one where you had to collect x amount of money.

All the fighting was done on the overworld, no special turn-based combat screens like you'd see in some Japanese games. I believe there was a section where you contolled a boat.

I really like the game and It drives me mad I cant find it

As I said, I'm trying to push the phone to its limits so I only want a good looking game, everything else would be an extra.
