| How long are movie titles available to rent? Posted: 18 Jun 2021 06:02 AM PDT When WW84 became available to rent on Google TV, I figured I could wait a little while for the price to drop. When I checked back a month later, it wasn't available to rent. (I know it's available to rent from other services, but I have some Google TV credits I'd like to use.) Does anyone know how long are movie titles available for rent on Google TV? I'm asking in general, but maybe specifically for movies that will end up on an subscription service, like HBO Max or Disney+. Thanks [link] [comments] | ||

| gamepad, PS5 controller - left/right analog stick movements not recognized Posted: 18 Jun 2021 02:41 AM PDT I use ButtonMapper which is GREAT. But: Some buttons are not recognized. Especially when I move the left/right analog stick in any direction. I get nothing. I really need those. In Kodi for example it works without any issues. Is there any solution? With or without ButtonMapper. Any help is highly appreciated! [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 17 Jun 2021 10:39 AM PDT It has come to my attention that the Disney+ app on the XH9005 doesnt show/support Dolby Atmos anymore. It only shows the Dolby Vision logo and 5.1 audio. [link] [comments] | ||
| Cannot play certain Netflix titles on Xiaomi Mi TV Stick (Global Version) Posted: 17 Jun 2021 12:54 PM PDT I got my streaming stick a few days ago and immediately encountered an error with Netflix. When I would play certain titles like White Chicks and The Legend of Zorro, it would give me an error saying "We are having trouble playing this title right now. Try again later or select a different title.". It also gave error code tvq-pb-101 (5.2.15). Any solutions? [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 17 Jun 2021 11:54 AM PDT Just got an Onn streaming box, tried to cast to it and found the audio kept up with the computer but the video very quickly fell behind and out of sync. Has anyone had this issue or know of anyway to fix it? TIA [link] [comments] | ||
| Device with more RAM than Shield TV? Posted: 17 Jun 2021 02:17 PM PDT We all love the Shield TV for how powerful its CPU and GPU capabilities are but what I find really lacking is the RAM. 3GB RAM is fine for basic or powerful single app usage but the issue is it doesn't retain apps in the background if you run any RAM heavy app/game. I use Kodi, YouTube, Netflix a lot and it barely keeps all 3 in the background which means they are restarted all the time for such a powerful device and if you play any game, it pretty much kills all the apps in the background due to "paltry" 3GB RAM. Is there any other reliable Android TV device which has more RAM than the Shield TV so atleast few apps can remain in background? (I couldn't find any :( ) I really wish they upped the RAM in 2019 Shield Pro. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 17 Jun 2021 01:47 PM PDT I have a Philips 50PFL5766, when on ambient mode the weather it shows is for California but I'm in Michigan. Needles to say it's incorrect, I have location through WiFi enabled. Is there anything I can do to fix it? Thanks! [link] [comments] | ||
| [Google TV] Is there a VLC alterative? Posted: 17 Jun 2021 04:46 PM PDT I really like VLC, but it does not handle subtitles well. The video stutters constantly when subtitles are enabled. If I disable subtitles they play just fine without stutter. I did some searching and came across this topic on the VLC forum. The topic is 3 years old and the issue still present today. I tried Kodi, but it's not what I'm looking for. It's way too much. I just want a simple video player not an entertainment hub. I play files via SMB and I can't even figure out how to add a share to Kodi with all it's mazes of menus. Even tried reading the Wiki, but it starts you off in the middle of the instructions. Image 1, how did you even get there?? Maybe the instructions are for an old version because I can't find where you see image 2 with being able to enter your username and password and server. Kodi is just way too complicated. With VLC it was quick and easy to add a SMB share. Is there any other video player out there? I'm afraid I'm going to have to go back to casting. I much prefer being able to browse with the remote. Since I use subtitles 99% of the time, VLC isn't going to cut it. And with a 3 year old issue I doubt it's going to be fixed. | How do I connect to local SOCKS5 proxy on my Android TV? Posted: 17 Jun 2021 08:26 AM PDT I am trying to connect my Android TV (Philips PUS7304/62) to local SOCKS5 proxy. It does not support built-in proxy configuration for networks, only static IP config available with DNS. I tried many apps including Proxy My Apps and Shadowsocks and other apps unavailable at TV Play Store to connect to my local proxy. None of these worked. Maybe SocksDroid app could work but it was incompatible, unable to enable proxy because the button was cropped out on TV screen. Any apps or workarounds? Thanks! TLDR: Issue: Can not connect to local socks5 proxy Device: Philips PUS7304/62 Built-in proxy configuration: No Proxy apps tried: SocksDroid, Shadowsocks, Proxy My Apps, other popular proxy apps. App should support SOCKS5 protocol. Premium proxies or VPN service is not required. I only need a working proxy client. [link] [comments] | ||
| Rii x8 remote problem with xaiomi mi box s Posted: 17 Jun 2021 10:52 AM PDT I've tried the standard google routine but can't find anything on my specific problem so I'm coming here next. I just bought a xaiomi mi box s and also the rii x8 mini keyboard so I can use a web browser. Everything about the keyboard is great except that the back button on the keyboard (which actually says "back") doesn't do what it's supposed to. It does nothing. This means I have to keep the xaiomi remote handy too which is annoying. Anyone else encounter this issue? no other button on the keyboard seems to perform the same function as far as I can tell. thanks in advance [link] [comments] | ||
