    Northgard is arriving on Android devices on August 24

    Northgard, the popular indie strategy video game is confirmed to release on Android devices on the 24th of August, 2021. The game has been overdue in the Google Playstore for a long time. The game will be released by Playdigious, who ported and published the game for an iOS release in April.

    Northgard is a real-time strategy game that was developed by Shiro Games. Set in the Viking era, the game had initially debuted on PC in the year 2018. This was followed up by a release on the Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4 and Xbox One in October 2019. The game was a surprise hit, particularly on PC, selling well over 2 million copies.     3 Quick Tl;Dr Android Game Reviews / Recommendations (Episode 178)

    Happy Friday, fellow mobile gamers! :) And welcome to my weekly game recommendations based on the most interesting mobile games I played last week. Hope you'll enjoy it.

    This episode includes a cute farming RPG, a fun simulation game about climbing the corporate ladder without getting fired, and a unique and hardcore arcade game about circles.

    The games are "ranked" somewhat subjectively from best to worst, so take the ranking for what it is.

    Let's get to the games:

    Harvest Town [Game Size: 549 MB] (free)

    Genre: Simulation / RPG / 2D - Requires Online Access

    Orientation: Landscape

    Required Attention: Some

    tl;dr review:

    Harvest Town is a simulation farming RPG with great pixel art, a vibrant universe, and a gameplay experience that many refer to as a free Stardew Valley alternative.

    The game features a ton of content and gameplay mechanics that revolve around growing crops and expanding our farm and town, such as mining, fishing, raising livestock, exploring caves, and even participating in horse races. While primarily singleplayer, we can also join multiplayer races and trade items with other players.

    Progression feels nicely paced, and there's a ton of quests to dive into and achievements to obtain. The main downside is that the English translation is decent but not without flaws. With that said, the story is mysterious and sweet, and the touch-to-move controls work alright, with a joystick option that can be enabled through the settings.

    Harvest Town monetizes through incentivized ads and iAPs for cosmetics and to progress faster. While paying players have an advantage in some of the game's events, there are no hard paywalls ruining the free-to-play experience.

    Harvest Town is a relaxing adventure perfect for any fan of RPG simulation games.

    Circle Affinity [Total Game Size: 76 MB] (free)

    Genre: Arcade / Indie - Offline

    Orientation: Landscape

    Required Attention: Full

    tl;dr review:

    Circle Affinity is an incredibly unique arcade platformer-like game where we make our way through an infinite series of circles in an experience the game's indie developer describes as a love letter to circles.

    Our character starts on the outside of the edge of a circle. Tapping a button while standing on a specific part of the circle lets us enter it so we can run around on the inside of its edge instead. The inside may contain enemies that we must avoid while trying to perfectly time a jump so we can reach the small circle rotating in the middle, at which point this loop repeats. If it sounds confusing, it's because it is – but this infinite layer of circles is what creates one of the most unique arcade experiences on mobile.

    A monster appears and kills us if we stand still for too long, which means we must hurry our way through the circles to survive. The goal is to get as far as possible, with new game modes unlocking every 25th level.

    As we play, we unlock 60 color pallets that each give the game a slightly different feel. Some of these may even increase the difficulty by making enemies harder to recognize. The consistent art-style combines with the great soundtracks to create an immersive and atmospheric experience that really sucks you in – heck, even the menu is navigated by running around in circles.

    Circle Affinity monetizes through banner ads on the death-screen, incentivized ads to double our score, and occasional instantly skippable forced ads. The ads aren't pushed heavily, but there is, unfortunately, no way to pay to remove them.

    Circle Affinity is a fantastic arcade game that will provide a true challenge for any fan of the genre.

    Don't get fired! [Game Size: 133 MB] (free)

    Genre: Simulation / RPG-like / Indie - Offline Playable

    Orientation: Portrait

    tl;dr review:

    Don't get fired! is a challenging, unique, and weirdly relaxing RPG about climbing the corporate ladder of a Korean company without getting fired.

    Starting as an intern, our job is to collect and complete work tasks from our colleagues to earn gold and experience that may eventually lead to a promotion. Each task is completed automatically within a few seconds, but we can also continuously tap our character to increase our work speed, although this depletes our HP, which may lead to losing our job because of stress.

    There are no less than 29 different ways to get fired that we gradually get to experience as we progress – some of which are triggered by random events. When we get fired, we start a new job at a lower rank and must work our way up again. Although frustrating, there's a certain feeling of accomplishment attached to unlocking all the firing reasons. Thankfully, the more we get fired for the same reason, the less the chances are that we'll get fired for the same reason the next time.

    To increase our chances of getting promoted, we can spend gold on improving our HP, work speed, speaking skills, and leadership abilities. The game is challenging and initially rather slow-paced, but the humor shown throughout makes it a fun and lighthearted experience.

    Don't get fired! monetizes through banner ads at the bottom of the screen, incentivized ads for bonus gold, and then iAPs starting at $1 to remove the ads and gain a bunch of gold. Although the iAPs aren't necessary to enjoy the game, watching a few incentivized ads feels almost mandatory in the early game since gold is earned very slowly.

    Any feedback on citra emulator?

    It seems to be the most common, if not the sole, 3ds emulator for android. I want to replay some old pokemon games but I've sold my old 3ds and thought maybe give emulators a try.

    DualShock 4 massive deadzone

    Has anyone been able to change the DualShock 4 deadzone? It's frustrating, since it's huge and not sensitive enough. I haven't even been able to properly change it on PC. I've tried to use Gamepad Keymapper, but it doesn't work. I've tried Gamepad Tester, but it no longer works. I tried changing .kl files but Android 10 has those files read only even with root.

    Any help?

    Top 10 Sports Games for Android (my opinion and research)

    tl; dr 1 - When creating this list, I factored in gameplay, career mode, reviews and graphics. I have bolded the title of each game in the post. I also added 3 extra games. One of which is a troll game, but hilarious and needed mentioning.

    But for those of you who rather read, here is the video script:

    Mobile Sports Games continue to trend upwards with almost all of the big game companies competing so in this video I am going to list the top 10 sports games for android and iOS. Some of these top games will not be a surprise to you, but then there are a few that so far have stayed a secret.

    The first game on the list is PES 2021. This will not be a surprise to many of you. Soccer is the biggest game in the world so naturally it also has one of the biggest followings in gaming. Now some might be surprised to see that FIFA 2021 is not on this list and that is because even though it has great graphics and menus, it can not measure up to PES's gameplay which is ultimately the most important thing about a sports game. PES 2021 is renowned for its great graphics, enhanced dribble controls and their options for local and real-time online matches. What I love about this game is that they take esports serious even on the mobile phone.

    The second game is Motorball. This will probably be a surprise because most people have not heard about this game and that is because it is not technically released yet. There are beta programs for both Android and iOS, but they official release date is not until August 6th, but when it does get released, it will be a big hit because the game is basically rocket league designed for the phone. It is simple, fun and addicting and it will be a big hit in mobile gaming.

    The third game is Grand Mountain Adventure. This game will also be a surprise and many of you might wonder why it is listed above some of the other games I haven't yet mentioned, but the reason is because this game is amazingly well done and offers something unique to the gaming world. I personally don't like calming adventure games, but watching even just 5 seconds of this game… calms me and I just watch. Which is crazy impressive, but the people that play this game are even more impressed. In fact, you will be hard pressed to find a list of top sports games that doesn't have this game on their list.
    The fourth game is NBA 2K21. This game is made by 2k games which has been the leader in basketball games for over two decades and It is clear that they have put the same amount of time and effort into making this game worthy of the franchise. It has amazing graphics, updated rosters, and most importantly, a really good career mode. They've also done a really good job of implementing good dribbling and shooting mechanics into the game in a way that feels natural on the mobile phone.

    (Fifth game from video edited out because it is iOS only. Rest of post slightly diverts from video)

    The fifth game is FIE Swordplay. This is another game with fun game mechanics, but it also is strangely educational. All of the techniques used and the tournaments in the game are set up like actual professional fencing. So not only is the game fun, but you get to learn about actual fencing. And then once you get good at the mechanics in single-player, you can advance to playing against other players online. So while this game probably won't be that game that has you playing for hundreds of hours, I think this is the game that everyone should try because you will have a lot of fun for a few hours and then when you do quit, you will leave with a greater understanding of how fencing works which even though that probably won't come up in conversation often, when it does, it will feel really good.

    Sixth on the list is Madden NFL 21. Like NBA 2K21, this game is made by the industry leader and they have done a fantastic job. It has all the things you would expect from me a Madden game like great graphics, good game mechanics, updated rosters, but there are also a few things they added that I was not expecting. For example, they added all of the game modes that you would see on a PC or console game and added co-op to career mode so you can jump in and help a friend in their career. Which that may not seem like a big deal to a PC or console gamer, but the integration involved letting another device jump in on your career for one game of a series and that not messing anything up sounds new and exciting to me. Regardless, if you want to play North American football on mobile, you need to play this game

    The seventh game is Skateboard Party 3. I'm going to be honest, I'm not really into skateboard games so this game is not on here because I enjoyed the game. Rather, this is on here because it is a very well done skateboard game. The graphics are obviously not anything like the NFL or NBA games oh, but they are the best graphics for a skateboard game out there and the game mechanics for a skateboard game are also the best. So if you want to relax and get good at hitting buttons at the right time to create the most amazing tricks out there, this is the game for you.

    The eighth game is MLB 9 Innings 21 which for me is similar to the skateboarding game. If I were going to want to play baseball as a video game, then I definitely think the mobile phone is the best place to do it, but it doesn't have a great appeal for me. That being said, for those of you that it does, this is the best baseball game out there. It has great graphics and awesome game mechanics that give you a real challenge. It feels like they really captured the concept of pitcher versus batter as you hone your skills of trying to hit the ball. And then of course it has a great career mode which is important for any sports game like this.

    The ninth game on the list is Boxing star. This game Made it on this list because of great reviews, fun gameplay and entertaining animations. If you like the feel of beating someone up without the remorse of giving them actual bruises, this is the game for you. It has a great single player mode in which you get to advance and fighting harder and harder bosses and then it also has a really good multiplayer mode in which you can play with your friends or random opponents. It is the most highly rated boxing game out there and I would recommend it for anyone who finds fake violence therapeutic.

    The last game of the list is Touchgrind bmx 2 which is a fantastic game. The game consists of doing all kinds of tricks with your bicycle which unlocks more points so that you can upgrade the better bikes or get cooler skins for them. This game is renowned for being highly addictive and like I said, it almost made it on the list.

    So that is the top 10 sports games of 2021, but in addition to these 10, I have two more that I wanted to mention. But before I mention them, two weeks ago I posted an interview with the former president of Activision and like only a couple thousand people watched it. I don't know if you guys thought that was clickbait, but it wasn't. It was real and it was amazing. So I put the link in the top right corner of the screen. I hope you guys go check it out.

    A game that was a contender that did not make it on the list is Head Ball 2. The reason it did not make it on the list however is not because it was not fun or didn't have good graphics, but rather because I'm not a hundred percent sure that it is a sport. It is listed as a sports game, but I'm not convinced that it is. It is definitely a game with competition and it looks like a lot of fun, but by that definition, pretty much all games are sports. So I highly recommend this game because a lot of people are having a lot of fun with it oh, but I couldn't put on a list because it just didn't seem sports-like enough. But I go back and forth on whether or not this game is a sport.

    That being said, a game that I do not go back and forth on is Kick Hero. This game is listed as a sports game because it includes kicking a soccer ball, but there is nothing about this game that is actually a sports game. Rather it is a hilarious arcade game that is wildly addicting and extremely therapeutic. So while I do recommend playing this game, I am adamantly opposed to calling it a sports game.

    Well, that's it guys. I normally do a lot of tutorials, but it seems like you guys are really liking these top 10 game videos because they are exploding! And these videos are a lot of fun to make because I get to research a lot of games so I plan to do quite a few more of these type of videos over the next couple of months.     Wondering if anyone remember a TCG from a few years ago. All the cards were dragons. You levelled up your cards by collecting more of the same card. The strategy of playing was you had 5 cards and set them out in an order against 5 other dragons and it auto played. The only other thing I can remember was the visual design of the level progression was a sky with clouds. Thanks if anyone can remember.

    Lenovo Tab M8 worth in 2021?

    I'm planing on buying a Tablet (95$) for basic google and some gaming. I want to play relatively big games, so I don't know whether the 2gb ram would be a big brick in my way or not.

    And also it uses android 9. Is this a big downside? Any reasons why I should look out for a Android 10 tablet instead?

    Anyone some ideas whether a Tab M8 is worth in 2021?

    [Request] Triple-A quality games suggestions

    Looking for games to play on my phone and/or tablet. Been playing Wild Rift recently a lot with friends, I like the quality of the game and the monetization model.

    Looking for games with the following aspects: - high quality game - not pay to win or extreme monetization , pay to play is fine - Singleplayer as well as multiplayer is fine - preferable no PvP shootee - some king of progression - playable for longer time

    Looking really forward to Diablo Immortal for example.. Wonder if any of you got a good suggestion to play.

    What mobile games have a solid community?

    Really popular games like COD mobile, FGO, Wild rift etc. has a subreddit that has a huge active community.

    I noticed that I've been playing very niche mobile games and for a change I'd want to try out the more mainstream ones so I can discuss and share stuff around. Even though I'm an introvert, ironically I still want to socialize with people who like the same stuff as I do.

    Besides, it wouldn't be very popular if the game itself isn't good right?
