No option for changing audio output in Prime video android TV app Posted: 05 Apr 2021 06:31 AM PDT Almost all the prime video titles I've visited shows the "5.1" icon, but there's no option for choosing it once I've started playing any of them. Is there any fix? [link] [comments]
Control Yamaha vx1800 with Sony android tv remote Posted: 04 Apr 2021 08:41 PM PDT Is it possible to control the volume and power on a Yamaha rx-V1800 receiver from a Sony KD65A8H tv remote that runs Android 9 tv? The receiver doesn't have hdmi arc BUT I previously had a chromecast google tv dongle and it could control it?!! [link] [comments]
"Upload logs failed" pop-up on Tivo Stream 4k Posted: 04 Apr 2021 02:41 PM PDT I just picked up a Tivo Stream 4K, and I'm seeing an occasional message popping up: "upload logs failed." I've tried turning off notifications for a few system apps to no avail ( It doesn't seem to be connected to a particular app (I've seen it in a couple of different ones), but I suspect it's something complaining about not getting through the PiHole. Any thoughts? Edit: I was wrong about the anaylics. Requests to api.amplitude.com are still hammering away. [link] [comments]
Hisense Android TV not Chromecast/Google Home friendly - What am I doing wrong? Posted: 04 Apr 2021 11:21 AM PDT Our TCL Roku TV died, and got a good deal on a Hisense Android TV (H651OG). I have an Android phone, and used Google products for a lot of things, so I figured it would be an easy transition. Our a Roku did the basics well. I could cast to it, or turn it on/off with Google home routines, etc. But with this TV, I can't do much. I could cast to it at first, but I changed the TV name on the TV and when i wouldn't cast, I removed it from Google home, but it's not even visible anymore from my phone or PC. Any ideas what is going on, or what I'm missing? Google has it's little bugs that are annoying, but for the most part, their stuff works pretty seamlessly. This is the opposite of that. Using Android TV without Google - network issues Posted: 04 Apr 2021 10:12 PM PDT So i'm a bit stumped - maybe someone around here will have some ideas.... I'm not a fan of mass data collection and privacy intrusion, so I block Google on my home network and on my mobile devices using dns block lists. For my home network, I am blocking them at the router level. This does wonders for privacy, but the downside is that my android devices won't connect to the internet - or rather, they think they have no internet connection. This ONLY affects my android devices though - everything else will connect just fine (Firestick, Windows PC, chromebook running linux etc.). My internet connection works fine, but the android devices aren't recognizing a connection and will deliver a "server not found" page when using a browser, or certain apps just won't work and will tell me I don't have an internet connection. On my ShieldTV for instance, my NordVPN app, Downloader, VLC player etc (apps that don't rely on google services) will work, but not Disney, Netflix, Prime or YouTube (which insist I have no internet connection). I still like to watch YouTube (in the browser) occasionally, so to get around the block lists I whitelist certain google domains which gets them past the filter. I'm wondering if anyone here knows which precise google domains android needs to contact to recognize that it has an internet connection? I tried whitelisting gstatic, which worked for my mobile device but not for my android TV. Thoughts? [link] [comments] |
