| Messanges / Hangouts - Missing Text Input Window Posted: 31 Mar 2021 12:26 PM PDT Not sure if this is a wide spread issue or not, but when I woke up this morning I noticed that my text input box at the bottom of an SMS/Hangouts thread is now missing on my Android device (Pixel 2). When I got my my PC I could also see that the same issue is occurring in Google Hangouts as well. Is this happen to anyone else or has anyone else experienced this type of issue? [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 31 Mar 2021 01:49 PM PDT I recently discovered that all my media sounds are not working whatsoever. Spotify, youtube, snapchat, etc. nothing seems to work. My loud speaker works fine when I'm in a call and the mic does too but the ear speaker doesn't work and the person can't hear me either. Only on speaker can they hear me and I can hear them. I'm assuming this is a software issue since the loud speaker and mic work when in speaker mode and the media sounds are the only ones that don't work. Alarms and notifications work just fine. Media is normal through headphones also. How should I approach this problem is there something I can do? [link] [comments] |
| Audio Balance for Headphones Only Posted: 31 Mar 2021 01:34 PM PDT Basically my headphones are broken and the left earbud is louder than the right one so I use the built in accessibility settings to fix it. But this means whenever I play audio through the phone's built in speakers, the audio is then imbalanced. Is there any way to get the balancer to only work on the headphones? | Seperate Work/School from Personal on A Samsung Tablet Posted: 31 Mar 2021 01:15 PM PDT Hey everyone, I just got a Tab S7 which I want to use for school, to take notes and stuff like that and also obviously for personal use (streaming, maybe playing games...). I want to seperate school and private stuff. Something you should know is that my school can't control or see what's on my tablet, I just want to seperate school and private for myself and NOT because I have to hide the private things. The best option I found to have 2 "identities" or "seperate areas", was to use the secure folder. Thats the point where I need help:
I figured it'd be better to put school stuff in the secure folder since I only have a few apps for school (basically the MS-Office package, Samsung Notes and a few more), but I have 100+ apps for private use. Doing that I would have the secure folder that I can then just open when I need to do school stuff and for the rest I can use the "normal" area. I think it's clear, but just to clarify: First question is if secure folder is the best option, 2nd question is if I should put school stuff in secure folder or private stuff. | *System*-wide volume issue (ie device's speaker **and** headphone-jack!), cannot figure out a fix :/ Posted: 31 Mar 2021 01:09 PM PDT tl;dr -- suddenly my speaker, and my 3.5mm headphone jack, are both acting as if I had changed the volume-dial down to 05% of normal, despite the fact it's set at 100% :/ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Title sums it up really, this was not caused by an update (although that last update can kick rocks) or anything, just one afternoon last week I got a call and the volume was soooo faint I could hardly hear it from several feet away and I keep volume at max (when it's on, I use the swipe-down Notifications area to alternate from Sound//Vibrate//Silent, so I never actually touch the sound-adjuster as it's left on Max) Quickly found that no Settings were off, figured the unit's speaker went bad, but then thought to try headphones and they were just as muted, could hardly hear them either - but they did still barely work so - to this novice - that means "It's not hardware, it's software" (since the odds of my headphone jack, and the regular speaker, both suffering a partially-muting-defect simultaneously would be astronomically low..) I've tried the 'ole "turn it off/back on" but past that my understanding is my next step would be "hard reset" which erases my data (and I don't have this unit backed-up, it's a "de-googled" handset and no none of the de-googling was done recently the phone's been stable as can be for a month+ now!) Thanks a ton for any&all ideas, I hate the idea of giong to buy this same handset again & swap my data&service to it, especially when it realllllly seems to point to a software issue which should be easily remedied (right?) Again thanks for any help even guesses, I can / will post pics/readouts/etc as requested! | Questions about using an old phone as a gps tracker. Posted: 31 Mar 2021 01:04 PM PDT I just got this shnazzy ebike and I'm currently hiding a cheap old phone in it and using find my device as a tracker incase it gets stolen. What I would like to do is have an alert if it moves from certain range. I don't think that's possible with Find My Device. Any suggestions of other apps/solutions would be greatly appreciated. Side note: Would be really cool if there is an app that can tell me if the bike/phone is being jostled at all. I feel like that one is a stretch but seems very possible. [link] [comments] |

There were many animations to select from and i then stuck to a super mario jumping over obstacles while loading text shown above him. | Apps on Google store not being recognized and wont update. Posted: 31 Mar 2021 12:49 PM PDT (Samsung Galaxy S9) I deleted my OG google play account (that was just a former YouTube account) and made an actual account. Now when in Google Play store, any apps that aren't google/youtube aren't being recognized and won't update. I've already tried google scan, clearing data/cache for store and services, restarting, uninstalling google updates, etc. Anything I can do so I don't have to uninstall and reinstall my apps? | Nokia lumia keyboard for password not available Posted: 31 Mar 2021 09:00 AM PDT Hello everyone, I have a nokia lumia 630 that hasn't been activated for like 4 years, containing data that matter really much to me. It works fine until i get to the keyboard for the password of the phone itself, and here i just can't enter any number because none appears. Does anyone have a solution in order to get back into the phone ? I can access to it from my computer but, given there is a password, i can't go into the data. | Oneplus 8 Pro or S20 Ultra for the same price Posted: 31 Mar 2021 12:34 PM PDT Sorry if this post might be a bit out of place but I'm torn between the Oneplus 8 Pro and the Galaxy s20 ultra. The recent price drops on both of them have brought them both to around the same price of 700$. For the same price which phone would be the overall winner in terms of screen quality and longevity. Camera is not the biggest concern for me. At this point would I just be deciding between OxygenOS or OneUI and a slightly better camera on the s20? [link] [comments] |
| Regularly getting a white popup on my Galaxy S7 (got video) Posted: 31 Mar 2021 12:16 PM PDT For the past week or so I am regularly getting a strange white popup on my Samsung Galaxy S7. It lasts for about one second and then everything is normal again. It can happen on the home screen or while I am using an app like Chrome or Twitter. This is what it looks like: https://imgur.com/a/P2sE6y3 I can reproduce it somewhat reliably by turning off my internet for a while and then turning it on again. Then it will usually happen after a few seconds. But sometimes it also happens randomly while I am using the phone. I did install one app via APK recently. This app is not available on the Play Store of my region, so I had to get it via APK. I downloaded it from here: https://m.apkpure.com/kippo-the-dating-app-for-gamers/com.covalent.kippo/ I consider the app itself trustworthy (it's also on the Play Store, just not for my region) and based on what I read online I thought that apkpure is also a safe site but now I am worried that I maybe got some kind of malware or something. But of course it could also be completely unrelated to this. Apart from this one app I have never installed anything external and all my apps and Android itself have the latest updates. The device maintenance check is also showing no problems at all. Is there any way for me to find out what is causing these popups? Maybe some kind of monitoring app that will log which app or process is active while this is happening? I definitely don't want to root my device though. [link] [comments] |

Sharing Videos from Google Photos to WhatsApp doesn't work anymore. Im having a Google Pixel 3a and when i try to share and upload a video via WhatsApp, the video (also for the receiver) is just flickering green (attached Screenshot), the sound of the video is working. | Posted: 31 Mar 2021 07:44 AM PDT Weird crashes in knox secure folder All of my apps will instantly crash when trying to start the keyboard, i can use them, except when i tap a text input field. Except google photos, when i try and send a crash report with that app, it tells me im not comnected to the internet, which i very much am. S9+ android 10, one ui 2.5. 6gb free storage, 4/6 gb ram in use currently. Power cycling hasnt helped. If i try and uninstall secure folder, what happens to the data and files in it? | Posted: 31 Mar 2021 10:14 AM PDT I recently had got into photography and with that I got a decent camera that i use an SD card with and I also just got a note 20 and I can't put a SD card in it so I got a little dongle thing that I can plug in using USB C but my pictures and that do not come up in my gallery and I really want them too so is there anyway I can do that? ( to have my eternal stored pictures show up in my gallery ). Any help will be appreciated. | Locked second hand phone - Need help Posted: 31 Mar 2021 09:52 AM PDT Hi all, So I bought an old phone from where I work at a charity auction (unclaimed lost property sold to raise money for our nominated charity), it is a Samsung Galaxy J3. Naturally it was locked. I've reset it to wipe all data but it keeps asking me for the original owners google account password. I get this is a security feature to stop stolen phones being used so I'm guessing there is nothing I can do to get around this? Any advice or suggestions Thanks for any help all. [link] [comments] |
| roms with voWiFi and voLTE for OnePlus 7 pro Posted: 30 Mar 2021 07:03 PM PDT Got a OnePlus 7 pro the other day for a pretty sweet price ( 320 usd) , it came preloaded with the oxygen os 11 update , it works flawlessly, im currently in israel for the time being, and it is legal to record calls here, called my operator and they said that on there end, voLTE and voWiFi is turned on for my device, yet I do not see it in my device options, The evolution X rom seems pretty good, can anyone tell me if this rom has these options built in? | Phone Stuck in Lockdown Mode after Update Posted: 31 Mar 2021 08:47 AM PDT Anyone know why I can't put in my pin while in lockdown mode? Last night my LG Velvet updated part of its software and when I woke up my phone was in lockdown mode. It wouldn't have been a problem, but I can't for the life of me find a way to put in my password. The screen's just black until the AOD (always-on-display) kicks in and it shows the date and time. But the moment I tap/swipe the screen or hit the power button to put in my password the screen goes black again and I can't put in my password. Any ideas? | Bluetooth wifi sharing question Posted: 31 Mar 2021 04:40 AM PDT My phone, Moto g6, can connect to work's 5ghz wifi. Co-workers Moto e6 cannot. If I'm connected to the work wifi and we pair the phones via bluetooth will the data used default to the wifi connection? I have unlimited cellular network data, with an 8gb tethering/hotspot cap. He has a 1 or 2gb cellular data limit (older man, new to smartphones and frugal). I'm trying to save his data without using all my tethering. Or is there a better way? [link] [comments] |
| Rooted and unlocked Samsung S20 FE 5G Posted: 31 Mar 2021 07:16 AM PDT Can find a demo model of a S20 FE 5G for about 50% off it's RRP apparently in great condition though not sure of the battery (apparently shop model). Biggest snag is that it is rooted and bootloader unlocked. What are the implications of this? I use banking apps and Google Pay pretty extensively, does Knox trip never to be untripped again?
