- Someone signed in their device with my mother's account. I can see it in Find My Device and have the option to erase it. Will they know it was me?

| Posted: 30 Mar 2021 04:52 AM PDT Not sure if carrier is relevant to Samsung's OneUI version distribution but in case it is I'm in Vivo, a Brazilian carrier. And just to reiterate this is a Galaxy S10+. Until now I could have up to 25 apps on each Secure Folder page. Just updated OneUI and now it's down to 12 apps on each page. I had all my social media, texting, banking and credit card apps on my first page along with gallery and camera. Is there any way at all to go back to 25 apps? Or maybe folders? I've looked for both under Customize and Settings. The question ends above but just in case you're wondering why I need everything to be in the Secure Folder, and in case you're about to suggest I take it all out of it... I live in a really dangerous city, and I only started putting most of my apps and content in the Secure Folder after I took a wrong turn, entered a favela controlled by a drug lord, and was almost murdered upon inspection of my phone because they suspected I was gay judging by a few pics in my gallery. They were looking for any signs that I might be working for the rival gang and instead saw Zelda Breath of the Wind's Link disguised as a Gerudo, i.e. a man/boy/twink in women's clothes. Still would have died right then and there if they didn't believe me when I said I wasn't gay, which was a big fat lie that I was terrified they were going to see through. 😠So that's why everything, including video game screenshots and memes, everything goes in the Secure Folder now. The thing is that account has passwords, work emails, important emails, Google Photos, Google Drive. I already disconnected the device, but I can still see it in Find My Device. It's also possible that some things are still stored in that device, right? Like emails and stuff. I want to erase it to be completely sure. I know the kid isn't a techy person, so he wouldn't suspect his device was erased with Find My Device unless the phone tells him so. He comes from a... troubled... family and we don't want to have problems with them, just make sure my mother's privacy is respected. Would it be safe to hit the "Erase" button? Thanks! I'm terrible with tech and even worse at talking about it so please forgive my ignorance! My husband and I have iPhones, our friends (another couple) have android phones. When we first met, one of the android users accidentally entered my husbands phone number in her contacts with an incorrect area code, just off by one number. She sent a group text that included the four of us (well, the wrong number) and when we realized she accidentally included a stranger, she tried to correct the number and send the text again (this time all of the phone numbers are correct) and the group text sent again to the wrong number. It's like her phone knew my husband as that wrong number and will never forget it. She has tried resetting her phone, making a new contact, making a new chat, having someone else start the chat, but anytime she replies to our (correct) group chat, her response goes to the old chat with the incorrect number. | Huge 100gb of "others" in storage Posted: 30 Mar 2021 11:30 AM PDT so my little sister has a redmi 9 phone and recently she's been complaining about the lack of storage on it. I gave it a look and the phone is 98% full. mind you its a 128gb phone, I tried looking at the storage and it showed the apps,images, videos..etc all had normal space consumption. but the "other" was a huge 100gb, I tried cleaning the cache both from the clean up and manually and I tried digging around to find huge files but I couldn't find anything. i tried connecting it to my laptop but it would show that the phone was empty. thanks in advance [link] [comments] |

| Notification sound identification problem Posted: 30 Mar 2021 12:11 AM PDT Hi all, In my former phone (asus zenfone 4 pro) I got a very nice notification sound used for IMs. Unfortunately It wasn't transfered and in my current phone (s10) don't have it anymore nor I remember the name. | Spoof Older Version of Android for Specific Apps? Posted: 30 Mar 2021 09:42 AM PDT My S10+ updated to Android 11 and the chat heads in Facebook Messenger got replaced by the new Bubbles feature. I much preferred the old chat heads and would like to keep using them. I checked on an older device and chat heads are still present in the newest app when you're on an older version, but there's no option to switch to using them in Android 11. Is there any way to make Messenger think that I'm on an older version of Android so it uses the display-over-app chat heads instead of the Bubbles API? Thank you! [link] [comments] |

I don't remember any passwords I used for it except one and it isn't working. A recovery email, number or question wasn't set up. | Posted: 30 Mar 2021 08:54 AM PDT I woke up one morning about a month ago and my phone told me it needed a software update. Being the responsible phone owner that I am, I immediately updated it. How does it repay me? It starts randomly restarting itself. No rhyme or reason to it. It's done it during phone calls, while using various apps, while sitting there not being used. And it doesn't go through the shutdown sequence, just goes black and then goes into the end of the little opening sequence - not even the full sequence. As such, I lose whatever I'm working on in the app or the phone call and all of my notifications. I'm on AT&T and asked at the local store if they had any ideas. They told me to get a new SD card because almost every time it restarts, it unmounts my SD card. They thought it was corruption or something in the SD card. So I did. I painstaking moved everything onto my phone and then back to the new SD card. No dice, still does it. The most recent restart has taken my photos and completely mixed them up. I have super old ones that say they were taken yesterday (the day of the last restart), so brought to the top of my camera gallery and they're not even all together. I have old Disney photos from one trip that are interspersed with photos I took weeks after at work. It's really annoying and I have no idea how to fix it, if I can. I had an app that I'd downloaded a few days before the update so I decided to delete it to see if it helped. No dice. Otherwise, I haven't added any new apps in ages. My storage isn't exceptionally full. I think it's about 60% full for both internal and SD card. I regularly go through and do smart cleaning. Sometimes it restarts several times a day. Sometimes it waits a few days to restart. There are no other software updates available. I can't plug it into the computer to do anything because the charging port decided one day to just randomly stop working. I use wireless charging now. Please help fix this annoying problem! I read a Lot about other Users of Android having the Same Problems: all Media Apps Like spotify stop randomly. Already did all the described battery deoptimization, No Change. So now i feel it light be the Android Version. Mine is 9 now and cannot be automatically updated. I thought about rooting/jailbreaking the Phone - in your educated guess,would that be a possible game Changer? Is IT very hard to do? Can i destroy my Phone Like that? Any other Things i best know? | Annoying Startup Notification Sound on Galaxy A40 (Android 11) Posted: 30 Mar 2021 05:02 AM PDT For some reason, my Samsung Galaxy A40 produces a notification sound upon startup. Not when I unlock my phone or display, but right after turning the phone on. I used to be able to remedy this by simply switching a specific setting in "System UI" to mute. But since Android 11, System UI seems to be gone. Does anyone have the same problem and / or an idea on how to fix it? All I want is for my phone not to make that sound whenever I'm turning it on, and I really don't want to have to set it to mute every time I turn it off. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 30 Mar 2021 08:24 AM PDT Is it possible to do this on devices launched with Android 9+ (using FBE by default) by modifying the userdata entry in fstab or similar, or have the current ROMs / kernels lost support to boot with this type of encryption? Are there any successful cases? I ask this because FBE is a nuisance for anyone who likes to modify their device. You need to format the userdata every time you change the ROM, consequently also losing the internal storage, different from how it was in FDE that just wiping data was enough. I have also had many problems with the device random not being able to unlock the userdata and forcing me to format it, which never happened when I had a device with FDE. | LG K41s won't let me move apps to the SD card Posted: 30 Mar 2021 07:06 AM PDT This phone only has 32gbs of internal storage and half of it is already being used by the system. I've got an 8gb SD card but when I go into an app's storage information page, there's simply no option to move to SD. This seems like a ridiculous LG problem. I can't format the SD card as internal storage through the settings, it only lets me format it as external which I assume is how it's being treated by the system already.
