- My galaxy s9 is not connecting using an OTG (USB c to full size) I have tried l it using two otg adapters and they both do the same thing. It shows up in notification shade for a second and then dissapears. I have restarted and it still does it.

I noticed in my security events today that on March 27, 12:51 AM. I had a new sign in on a "Google Pixel 3". I have a Pixel 2 XL, not a 3. It was last synced "Yesterday at 9:24 PM". I tried to remotely erase the device or contact it but it is off. I have had 2FA on for years now (since 2013), no SMS verification. Only YubiKey, my authenticator app, and back up codes (none used). My password is like 30 characters long (LastPass). According to the security event - it came from my IP address?? I'm like WTF?? As far as I remember, I had no emails of new devices being synced. Idk if it's the right place for this but a friend's got an old Nexus 6P which was laying in a drawer shut off for at least a year. They forgot the password for it, don't have a google account linked to it, it isn't rooted and it has 2 password attempts left. They want to recover photos from it how do they go about that ? | How do I turn on "Picture color mode"? Posted: 12 Dec 2020 12:30 PM PST I bought a new phone recently (Realme 7, with Realme UI on top of Android 10) and I've noticed that the display is really saturated and I just found this developer setting called "Picture color mode" which supposedly is meant to give the display more natural colors by switching to sRGB gamut. The thing is, whenever I turn this option on and leave the settings, it switches off by itself. I tried to switch it on and then restart my phone, but it still doesn't work. | Maps not launching from WhatsApp or Instagram Posted: 12 Dec 2020 12:02 PM PST Hi all, for some reason when I receive and try to open a location in a WhatsApp conversation, or try to open a location from Instagram, nothing happens... Anyone else have this issue? Any clues on how to fix it? I have a Samsung Galaxy S9, latest firmware... It was like this for about 2 weeks or so after my phone, the Motorola g7 power, got the Android 10 update. It did eventually fix by itself but for some reason it went back to being broken 2 days ago. All will be fine for few days and suddenly one day all files are lost. Facing this issue for a while, happened thrice. Not sure how they are getting deleted automatically. I clear junk occasionally using Google files app suggestion and I generally hit clear without checking junk files. I assume mostly there are temp files or such. is this related to the issue ? Is there a way to consolidate the notifications from an app, so I only see a single icon rather than multiple ones? For those who can't pull the image, my notification bar displays a Netflix, Samsung Health, Google, Google, Neighbors, Neighbors, New Oxford American Dictionary, One Drive, Amazon Photos, and New Oxford American Dictionary. | Is there a way to move all app toolbars to the bottom? Posted: 12 Dec 2020 06:13 AM PST I have an LG Velvet, which has this very tall, big display. It is my first android phone, so sorry for the noob question. I found that some apps such as Gmail have a toolbar at the very top of the screen, which is basically impossible to reach with my thumb. I can't grow a 6.8" thumb unfortunately. Is it possible to move these toolbars to the bottom in all apps, like Firefox does by default? Currently the only way I found to reach these is to either use 2 hands, or use a gesture which brings the app halfway down, but both of these are somewhat inconvenient. [link] [comments] |

| LG G6, cant remove "remote call service" Download notification Posted: 12 Dec 2020 04:12 AM PST model: LG G6, the south korean version so a good few months ago i got a notification (when you scroll down from top of screen for settings, screen brightness etc) saying it wants to download remote call service. i cant swipe it away, only snooze for a few hours or go to settings. I go to settings and it says the notification is "general" , i set it to "low" which claims "no sound or visual impairment", however this makes absolutely no difference and the notification is still there. I tired downloading the app and then deleting it and the notification comes up again. i do not want the remote call service app as the phone was bought used and its a south korean version so i highly doubt id ever get "offiicial" assistance anyway. Plus it feels really unsafe for there to be an app on my phone that is designed to let someone remote in. i tried turning off all notifications in app store too and that does nothing either. how do i get rid of this notification without downloading the app? | Smart Switch copied data from a third phone Posted: 12 Dec 2020 03:51 AM PST Yesterday I helped my girlfriend to copy all the data from her old Samsung to her new one (don't know which models) via smart switch, I did it wirelessly. At the end of the process we found out that she didn't only hava her contacts saved in her new phone but also all the contacts that are saved in my phone (Huawei P20), I can't figure out how that happend. I thought it was because a couple weeks ago I logged in in her new phone with my google account, but in this new phone have also been saved contacts that do not appear in my google's contacts list, therefore it must be something else. This also happend without my phone asking for anything of this kind. Another detail that doesn't seem to be important (but who knows) is that both my phone and my girlfriend's new phone during the data transfering process have been charged with the same computer, but since we had only one cable in different times. I would like ti figure out how this happened. As long as it happens with my girlfriend there is no issue, but it made me a bit concerned about my privacy. [link] [comments] |
