Posted: 16 Dec 2020 12:44 AM PST Why is it 2020, and Viper4Android has not been adopted as the standard for audio equalization? I'm using an OnePlus 8. I was completely underwhelmed by it's audio prowess, I've been rooting phones since the nexus 6 (not 6p, the 6) just to get Viper4Android. I rooted just to get Viper4Android and the difference is night and day. This isn't a dig at the OnePlus, it's a dig at the overall audio quality of Android phones. Viper4Android is an incredible audio equalizer and should absolutely be the benchmark phone companies should be trying to emulate or better yet just build it into the software. [link] [comments]

Experiencing frequent audio stuttering with screen off? Here's how you fix it. Posted: 15 Dec 2020 02:29 PM PST I've been experiencing this infuriating bug since Android 10 (and on 11) across multiple phones (Samsung and Pixel 3a) where audio playback would frequently cut out randomly when I locked my phone. Keeping the screen on prevented the issue, but obviously that's no real solution. I couldn't find any tutorials on how to fix it aside from one random comment claiming disabling the Google app made the issue disappear. To my surprise this actually worked, but it also removed all assistant functionality from my phone, which suck, because I quite l quite like the 3a's squeeze-for-assistant shortcut. Disabling just the "hey google" hotword detection is enough to make the issue go away. That way you get normal audio and access to the Assistant without disabling the Google app as a whole. Hope this helps some people. This seems to be quite a common bug, with how many users commented on it in the official Google forums. [link] [comments]
