Music Control on lock screen or AOD Posted: 21 Nov 2020 04:11 AM PST Is there a way to display music controls on the lock screen or always on display BY DEFAULT? I hate having to tap or swipe from the clock in order to access controls. I want it to display by default. I use Apple music as my service of choice. When you swipe over from the clock, tap the music controller, it displays a beautiful screen with artwork and pause, skip, back options. I want THIS as a default screen. Is this, or anything similar, possible? Edit: I'm fairly new to the android world. Converted from iphone X to a Note because iphone 12 disappointed me lol [link] [comments] |
Phones getting full storage despite being mostly empty? Posted: 21 Nov 2020 08:27 AM PST So I've got this problem with two phones: 16GB Sony Xperia Z3 Dual on Android 6.0.1, and a 64GB Samsung S9+ on Android 8.0.0. The Z3 system takes up 4GB which left me with 12GB, and I had 5.4GB of internal storage used up so I should have around 6.6GB free, but I only had 600MB left. Wtf. I used multiple apps and file explorers and they all gave me the same conclusion: 5.4GB used, 600MB available. As for the S9+, 53GB available after counting the system. Cool. I use up 26GB of the internal storage which ought to leave me with 27GB free, yet I only have 8GB available. WTF. It's worth noting that using FX File Explorer, the internal storage info says I've used 27GB, yet opening the internal storage folder says I've used 44GB used, 8. 1GB available. I performed a factory reset for the Xperia and that fixed it, and that'd probably fix it for the S9+ too, but I seriously don't want to redownload all my stuff again especially when I don't have a proper way to back it up. What's more, I'll probably have to do this again so I'd like to know if there's a way to avoid this crap? I tried performing a factory reset on a phone for my brother who had the same problem and that fixed it, if that information would be of any use. Thank you greatly in advance [link] [comments] |

Posted: 21 Nov 2020 09:42 AM PST Hello! Is there any way to unlock 4k 60fps on my phone's camera (Note 8 Pro, 6GB, 128GB, Max 4k 30fps, MIUI 12, Android 10)? For example via root or a custom rom. Thanks in advance! Senna [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Nov 2020 09:14 AM PST Hello everyone, I can't seem to find any answer for the problem I'm having. I'm having a hard time finding when the problem happens : I stress tested the phone, done various thing to try and emulate the occurance but to no avail. The only way to find the touchscreen functioning again is to reboot the phone (by maintaining the power button as I can't access the screen) and it goes away like that. Any help? Is the screen replacement I bought a faulty unit? Thank you so much [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Nov 2020 09:02 AM PST I was using it as a little tablet for my son to watch YouTube videos. It was stolen from my work bag at work sometime back on the 9th of November. He was just getting used to it as an option to see videos, he's little and it was working perfectly for using the pbs kids app to watch sesame st and such. I have used find my phone and it occasionally pops up as found via maps location. but I've discovered.. It pops up as my location wherever I am on my note 20. So it's just following maps, I guess. It says last logged in on Nov 9th. [link] [comments] |
How to turn off the white nav bar when using gesture nav on Pixel!? Afraid of burn-in! Posted: 21 Nov 2020 11:52 AM PST As you may know Android has gesture nav! However I am afraid of one thing! The white nav bar has a possibility of burning in, just like the nav buttons of the past! Is there a way to turn this off on the Pixel? On my mom's samsung S10, there is an option to hide the white bar. I don't see this feature on my Pixel 4a. Is there an adb command or app like System UI Tuner that could help? I'm going to keep this phone for a while so I want the display to remain burn-in free! [link] [comments] |
Bypassing screen mirroring "block"? Posted: 21 Nov 2020 02:37 AM PST I've been trying to screen mirror a channel from an app, but if i screen mirror it to tv or my pc, i get audio but no video. (aka a black screen) It appears it some kind of built-in DRM to that app? Cause screen mirroring is working perfectly otherwise. Can it be "bypassed" in anyway? Or could a chromecast help? My phone is a Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G, if that helps. Edit: The app is called "Elisa Viihde". [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Nov 2020 11:18 AM PST Note 10+. I tried googleing it. This must be a new update, but I used to swipe down from the top of my phone and hit the X. Now the X, is not there. I have to admit I haven't given it a hard look, but I was also just curious what others think of this? I'm gonna mess with my phone now. [link] [comments] |
[HELP] System UI stopped, Close app error, now I cant use my phone Posted: 20 Nov 2020 08:13 PM PST My phone is Samsung A20, my carrier SMART Communications Inc. I was updating my apps through the play store, when it prompted to delete some apps as there were not enough space, so I uninstalled a 1.5 gb app (LoL: Wild Rift) then it crashed and the System Ui stopped error came up, so i clicked close app or something, when I did that, the phone is showing a black screen with the back button and the quick panel/notification bar only showing up. Things I can do to it:
Things I cant do:
my only hope is that when the battery goes out is that it fixes itself, but I'm scared it will actually brick it instead or that it does not fix itself when it does turn back on [link] [comments] |
Can’t get fastboot to recognize my Asus Memo Pad 7 Posted: 21 Nov 2020 11:11 AM PST adb devices comes back with my device but when I run fastboot devices, it returns with nothing. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |
What is taking up space on my Galaxy S7? Posted: 21 Nov 2020 10:36 AM PST Apparently the S7 has 32GB of internal memory. I read that 8GB is for system memory. When I connect the phone to a computer I find 1.8GB of files and 6.5GB is free. That accounts for roughly 16GB out of the 32GB. Where is the rest of it? [link] [comments] |
Can I recover Microsoft Authenticator backup from iPhone on Android? Posted: 21 Nov 2020 10:32 AM PST I recently made the transition from iPhone to Android - so far going well! The only thing I'm struggling with is restoring my Microsoft Authenticator backup on my new phone - is it because the app is using iCloud on iOS for storing backup? This is what I did:
Is it possible to somehow get my codes without having to manually recreat them? [link] [comments] |
Gmail and Google app crash after disabling and re-enabling Posted: 21 Nov 2020 09:53 AM PST Hello all, The Google app was taking up half a gigabyte of storage even though I never use it, so I cleared its data and disabled it. After I did this, Gmail and Outlook crashed, so I re-enabled the main Google app. Gmail and Outlook were still failing, however. Since the main Google app was now an earlier version, I thought maybe I should update it. Although I can open the main Google app, it crashes as soon as I switch to the "Update" tab, so that's not an option. I also tried clearing my Gmail and Outlook data to see if that would help, as well as disabling and re-enabling Gmail, but neither had any effect. I've also cleared all data from Google Play Services and restarted my phone to no avail. If I try to visit Google settings from the Settings app, then the Settings app freezes. What can I do to make these apps operable again? Note that not all Google apps are afflicted. For example, I can still use Drive, YouTube, and the Play Store. For a little more detail, Gmail is receiving data - I can see new messages for the half-second that the app is open before it crashes. If I try to send a crash report, the crash-report-sending services crashes too. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge running Android 8.0.0. [link] [comments] |

Changed resolution of LG Stylo 4 and cant tap anything and more Posted: 21 Nov 2020 08:21 AM PST Changed resolution of my phone, trying options to fix batter life. I restarted my phone and now I cant go to the home screen. The resolution is cut in half, i cant tap on anything and when my screen turns of and on, it flickers. I cant use my phone right now and its causing me a mental breakdown because thats the second phone that broke today. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Nov 2020 07:53 AM PST My grandmother has a LenovoA1000 phone. I've combated ads on it once, but now it seems they were back despite (Lenovo's system) ad service being deleted, so I grabbed the phone and went to see what else can be causing it. While checking out /storage/emulated/0/, I found a folder called Game Store, which I immediately found odd considering she doesn't have it. Knowing Lenovo, I knew I was onto something. After messing with its subfolders for a bit, I found 5 apks with the general name structure being com.bonbon.xxxxxxx.apk. Literally found no info on any of them(just generic games, albeit really small-in kilobytes), except for one certain "marina"-it seemed to show up as a request in google, but I only found some weird store app. Maybe will look into them later, even though 2048 really doesn't even have a permissions file and classes don't seem to have any weirdness regarding internet going on. Anyone knows what's up with these apps? [link] [comments] |
Launcher with Smooth Animations Posted: 21 Nov 2020 07:45 AM PST Anyone have any recommendations for third party launchers that have the same Pixel Launcher like animations? I've checked Lawnchair and Hyperion, but they don't have the same animations sadly. i.e opening and closing apps, etc Thanks [link] [comments] |
Blokada, DNS and banned websites Posted: 21 Nov 2020 07:35 AM PST Hi everyone. I'm using a Galaxy S9 with Android 10. I have been using Blokada for a year now and its been great, does what I need it to do. So recently I tried to add a private DNS in the android connection settings (Cloudfare), in order to access certain websites blocked in my country. However, when I save it, it does not connect to it, it says "couldn't connect". Nothing was loading on my browser or apps either. I tried switching data on/off, WiFi on/off but nothing changed, and then finally I switched off blokada, and that's when it finally worked. I went into blokada and turned off the dns settings in app and then reactivated but it has the same problem again. So is there any way to fix this? Or do the two just not work together? Also, if I use cloudfare DNS in Blokada, can I access banned websites then? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Nov 2020 04:40 AM PST I am on Android 10 smartphone and Easy Voice Recorder and GOM voice recorder stops capturing audio 4-5 minutes after phone screen goes dark/is locked. The record file is complete, but when you play it back after the 4 min mark or so, no audio is captured (the recording is blank). I am under Optimised Power Mode, Adaptive Battery is turned off, Put Unused Apps to sleep is turned off and Easy Voice Recorder and GOM Voice Recorder is under "Apps that won't be put to sleep". But the problem still persists. What's going on and how do I fix it? [link] [comments] |

Huawei P Smart just keeps clicking itself on the middle of the screen. Posted: 21 Nov 2020 04:18 AM PST Same as the title says. So the phone basically on the middle part of it just goes berserk and it's like someone is constantly touching it on that exact part. Is this a hardware or software problem. Anyone has some tip for possible easy fix? [link] [comments] |
How do I remove apps from “My Apps” list on Google Play, without a phone/tablet? Posted: 20 Nov 2020 06:12 PM PST While browsing through play.google.com on my laptop I noticed in "My Apps" that there are a few ancient apps from when I rocked an HTC Legend back in 2010 (my first smartphone <3) I'd like to remove those old apps from my account but I can't seem to find the option on the website. I've learned that you can easily do this on mobile/tablet but the only Android devices I currently use are running Android TV (a Sony TV and a Chromecast with Google TV) and it looks like I can't do this through their versions of Google Play too. Any way to do this through the Google Play website, or any other method? [link] [comments] |
