| Can someone explain what's this? Posted: 04 Nov 2020 05:24 AM PST While searching things in my settings something called 10377 appeared and it used 1% of my battery, I have never seen that before and I'm new to android. [link] [comments] |
| I need to turn off the automatic blocking of restricted calls Posted: 04 Nov 2020 08:26 AM PST Pixel 4a / android 11 When I get a call from a restricted number, my phone doesn't give me the option to answer, it simply shows up in my history after the caller has hung up. This is a huge issue considering my healthcare provider calls from a restricted number. I've looked through the Phone settings, App Settings, and also the general Settings apps. I've also looked online and found nothing. Has anyone else come across this problem or managed to fix it? Could it be an issue with my service provider (Verizon) rather than the OS? | Crazy battery drain on S9 LOS 17.1, likely Google Play Services/MicroG Posted: 04 Nov 2020 11:53 AM PST This started happening about 3 days ago which would lead me to believe an app that I installed recently could be the cause of this but that's not the case. I started a new job since 3 days and because of that my phone's on 4G most of the day instead of Wi-Fi. Because of this I think it has something to do with cellular data. Before I wouldn't really notice it because I wasn't out much. Out of all the apps being listed in the battery usage screen, WhatsApp, Google app, MicroG, Google Messages and Google Play Services are shown using battery actively. I managed to stop WhatsApp from using battery by signing out of WhatsApp Web. That's the reason it doesn't list as many hours as the others. Last 2 days it didn't show any less hours using battery than the others. My phone would always be connected to my PC as soon as it started. Somehow being connected to cellular data makes it drain my phone's battery. The fact that MicroG is listed to use as much as the others makes me want to say it's Google Play Services causing the battery drain. So far I tried clearing its cache and clearing all data but none of those helped. I also tried to update it by installing the latest OpenGApps package but the version stayed the same. So to make it clear: the battery drain is not happening when connected to Wi-Fi. It only happens when I'm connected to cellular data, which is 4G in my case. Small note: the screenshots were taken after I turned off battery saver which was turned on for almost 10 hours. That's how crazy the battery's draining. | Posted: 03 Nov 2020 11:11 PM PST I am using VMOS since the version 1.0.42 is released. Then it didn't had any problems. Now with the new updates currently 1.0.63 I can't seem to get internet connection at play store. Everytime I try installing something from play store in VMOS then it forever shows either pending or waiting for download. Devs claims VMOS uses real time connection as the original phone. I can open chrome and get internet connection in apps but what about play store. Without it I can't update google play game nor I can connect due to this problem. Please help. I use Poco X2 and for connection either Jio or super wifi speed. [link] [comments] |
| GT-S7582 Micro-SD Card write protection? Posted: 04 Nov 2020 07:28 AM PST I'm having an issue when trying to access my external micro SD-Cards on my phone. Reading works fine, but everytime I try to write, delete or move a file - either in windows explorer or android - it first appears to be successful, but after a few minutes and a refresh everything is reverted back to the old file structure. Is there some kind write protection in Android that has to be disabled? [link] [comments] |

| Adopted storage turned read-only; recovery without data loss Posted: 04 Nov 2020 10:52 AM PST Where can I find a comprehensive explaination of how to recover without data loss from adopted storage turning read-only? I also really want to understand the finer points of how Android manages Adoptable Storage. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 04 Nov 2020 10:12 AM PST I have a Samsung Galaxy S10. I recently started having issues with ads popping up randomly, in middle of texting, on Facebook, listening to my Amazon music, etc. Then comes the random audio ads in the background when I'm talking on my phone and I can't hear other person. It randomly does it all hours of the night also and wakes me up. One came on the other day that sounded like porn! My granddaughter had the phone......how embarrassing was that? Weird part is, when I try to go close it, there is nothing showing to close. What is going on with it? I found steps to clean things up and went through like 9 steps, took me hours but it didn't fix the issue. Please help someone! [link] [comments] |

| Camera app doesn't remember settings Posted: 04 Nov 2020 09:43 AM PST Hi. I own a Samsung Galaxy j5 on android 7 and every time I go into the camera app (the default one) it shows me the tips and tricks like it's the first time I'm entering it (glide and slide for this, pinch for zoom etc etc) and it's annoying as I have to double slide and tap OK and then I can use the camera. | Posted: 04 Nov 2020 09:38 AM PST I want to sell my old phone. However, I have factory reset it. Before doing so, I removed all my Google and Samsung accounts from the device, but I didn't delete everything or uninstall every app. Is there a chance after I sell it that someone could come along and access sensitive data that is not deleted with the factory reset? | Posted: 04 Nov 2020 09:37 AM PST For the last 2 months since registering to vote, I've been getting messages 10+ times a day from random numbers. Each number is different and half the time the name isn't even mine that they are "trying to reach". I've looked into my message settings and don't have the option to block spam. I have a galaxy s10. Anyone else have a fix for this? Any trusted app that will just auto block unknown number texts/send unknown number calls to vmail? Getting super tired of this election crap. It better end soon. If I had known this was the result of registering to vote, I'd have just skipped it. My vote wasn't worth this. [link] [comments] |

The phone is a oneplus 7 pro from Amazon, the post title says "GSM unlocked" so I'm assuming it would? | Get rid of a random alphanumeric string in quick settings drawer [help] Posted: 04 Nov 2020 08:21 AM PST How can I get rid of this random alphanumeric string showing up in my quick settings drawer beside the edit tiles button? It started showing persistently after the android 10 update. Device model is Nokia 4.2 if it helps. Thanks. [link] [comments] |

| iOS-like bluetooth headphones popup Posted: 04 Nov 2020 07:17 AM PST I've been trying to get a popup similar to the one shown off on iOS and some Samsung devices but can't seem to get anywhere. There are many apps that offer the popup but they only work with airpods and won't show up on any other Bluetooth connections. [link] [comments] |
| Losing charge while being charged Posted: 03 Nov 2020 06:38 PM PST Was using my note 4 while plugged in and noticed the battery % was dropping while the status bar battery showed the charge icon. I tried a different cable, wall outlet, adapter and battery. They still would not charge. I turned my phone off and tried charging it while off and the battery % still declined. Is it safe to say the port is faulty even though it is still registering the cable being connected? [link] [comments] |
| Opening PDF files from Chrome on my Android 10 Samsung Posted: 04 Nov 2020 05:49 AM PST Hi all. When I visit a webpage on my phone and click on a PDF link to open the file, my Chrome browser tries to open the file in what looks like Google PDF viewer (I think it's baked into the Google Drive app) but it doesn't actually work. The app opens a blank page with the filename replaced by a weird 5 digit number. If I try to open the menu and click "open with..." instead, it shows me only a limited number of options from the apps I have installed. The default app for opening PDF files on my phone is Word, so when I go to the downloads folder (through a file manager app, not chrome downloads), and click on the downloaded file, it opens fine in Word. Is there a way I can change the behaviour to stop using Google Drive to open PDFs in Chrome, or better yet... to fix the issue? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
