PSA: YouTube mobile's 480p streaming limit seems to be gone now. Posted: 22 Oct 2020 06:24 PM PDT This happened a few days ago, I have also checked with some of my devices and my friends' devices as well, the 480p video quality limit seems to be gone now, both on YouTube Android app and mobile website. All the resolutions seem to be available now including 720p60 and 1080p60. I don't know if the resolution was limited in other countries as well but in India it seems to be gone now. I just thought I'd let everyone know since it was a really frustrating experience for a lot of people. Edit: Here's an article to get the context of what this is all about: https://www.androidpolice.com/2020/07/16/after-3-months-of-restrictions-the-youtube-app-is-still-limited-to-480p-in-india/ All resolution options are now appearing even when you are on the mobile data, previously it was only available when you're on Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi limit was also only lifted 2 months ago).
