Free up storage on your android tv Posted: 28 Oct 2020 08:55 PM PDT I spent some time looking for a post like this and it didn't exist on the Google machine, so here we are. My Hisense android tv kept interrupting me mid-show saying it was running out of space. I had deleted the unused apps, but x-plore helped flush out another 2gigs. Here's what you do: *Download "x-plore" on your android tv *Use the "disk map" feature in the middle pane to see where large files are hiding. For me, I had a 1.5 gigs in "trash", and another gig in folders that didn't seem important *Navigate to said folders and delete in x-plore When looking at the "internal shared storage" in my android tv settings, I couldn't figure out how to delete the "Misc." Category. The above process was the answer. Hopefully this helps someone else searching around. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Oct 2020 04:46 AM PDT Does anyone know if 2 GB is enough for a few years of using an Android TV box?Have 4 GB options, is it the most recommended, or is it overkill? [link] [comments]

Posted: 29 Oct 2020 05:53 AM PDT I recently got a smart TV, and have ordered the Google TV with chromecast. My smart TV at the moment doesn't have Android TV but instead has built in YT, Prime and Netflix. I was wondering if, once I set up Android TV and access YT etc from it as opposed to pressing the designated YT button on the remote, there will be a difference between the built in app versus the Android TV app. Or will Android TV OS completely take over the smart TV OS and there won't be an option to load the native YT app anymore? In this case, will pressing home on the remote take me to the Android TV home page as opposed to the built in home page of the TV's natural OS? Sorry if that's unclear. Long time Apple user trying to make sense of my new toy! [link] [comments]

Posted: 28 Oct 2020 09:57 AM PDT Hey everyone, recently been playing around and was able to get a nearly fully working google tv experience on my Sony X900H. This will apply to shield as well. Follow the instructions from this site: How To Geek Install the two apks (both are needed), enabled adb, uninstall default launcher. From this point depending if you have access to the new Google tv app or not (I don't in Canada) to pick your streaming services and work your watchlist go to a new Google search and type "What to watch". You'll see a settings icon to the top right of the results. Click it and hit edit services. This will make the "For You" tab work for you. You can rate shows to help it along. For the most part everything works. You won't have the new settings menu and clicking the screensaver button in the menu will crash it. (Reloads) [link] [comments]
Chromecast remote stopped working Posted: 28 Oct 2020 06:55 PM PDT The remote of my Chromecast with Google TV stopped working. I restarted the Chromecast but it didn't fix it. I checked the batteries and that didn't work either. Tried unpairing and not I can't figure out how to pair again. I can't put it back into pairing mode and the light on the remote doesn't light up. Any ideas? [link] [comments]
Smart YouTube TV + Chromecast with Google TV Posted: 28 Oct 2020 04:17 PM PDT Has anyone successfully set Smart Youtube TV as the default YouTube app on the new Chromecast? If so, how? [link] [comments]
DAZN app for new Chromecast (Google TV) Posted: 28 Oct 2020 02:07 PM PDT Hi, not a big fan of the DAZN app on my LG TV, very hard to rewind and keeps getting me to login almost every time I start. I was hoping the new Google Chromecast with Google TV would have the DAZN sports app for it In Canada BTW Thanks [link] [comments]
New Sony X750H Android TV doesn't show up on Cast Menu when TV is off Posted: 28 Oct 2020 08:01 PM PDT Our brand new Sony X750H 4K Android TV doesn't show up in the list of available Cast devices (for example, attempting to cast something from Netflix) when the TV is off. The TV is just turned off via the power button on the remote, so it's on standby, and it's still plugged into a turned on surge protector. This is a regression from our old Chromecast Ultra and dumb TV, where casting content while the TV was off was available and it would turn the TV on. I'm also unable to turn on the TV from Google Assistant/the Google Home app, like I should be able to do. I am able to turn off the TV from Google Assistant/the Google Home app, however. Mi Box S, 4k HDR Netflix error Posted: 28 Oct 2020 11:56 AM PDT I recently got a new MiBox S for my TV as I got sick of the UI of my tv. My tv is Samsung 4K hdr capable. It also has smart hub. I don't use Netflix in it as my TV doesn't have Bluetooth but Netflix supports full 4K HDR on the TV for supported titles. When I use the MiBox, even though the resolution is set to 4k60 Hz, the Netflix app doesn't show any titles in 4K or even HDR. It just shows HD for all titles. The weird thing is that at rare times, I see 4K and HDR on available titles. It's just very rare. And yes, my Netflix plan is Premium 4K. I used different HDMI cables including the one that came with the box and I plugged it in all 3 ports of the TV, but no luck to be found. Can anyone help me to fix this issue that I'm having?
