| Posted: 26 Oct 2020 07:57 AM PDT Since I never had a phone with notches, and it seems to be getting harder & harder to find a phone that fulfills my needs that don't have one, I was wondering how these notches work with Apps like YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime, or any other streaming service. Will it always cut off part of the video I'm watching or do these phones have settings that minimize the video player so it fits right below the beginning of the notch, so it won't cover part of the video? | What is the future looking like for custom roms for Android 10 preinstalled Android phones Posted: 26 Oct 2020 07:33 AM PDT According to this article the chances for a proper functioning of twrp for new phones with Android 10 pre-installed is pretty slim. It means custom roms will also not be created for developers if there there is no proper support for TWRP which is the current case for models like OnePlus 7T and new pixel devices. EDIT: I looked it up TWRP 3.4 does bring support for some Android 10 launched phone but still a lot of phones are struggling. If there a chance it'll get better? [link] [comments] |

| Deleted .thumbnails but no free space Posted: 26 Oct 2020 01:07 AM PDT I deleted .thumbnails on internal storage via ccleaner to free up some space since it has 500+mb. But after deleting, no free space was added. How do i get those free space? I tried to search on google and looked for Lost.dir but found no such folder on internal storage. | I really need some help regarding storage on my Galaxy J3 V Posted: 26 Oct 2020 06:39 AM PDT Tl;dr I'm looking for a way to trick my phone into treating my sd card as internal storage. I have 16 gigabytes on the phone, over 100 free in an sd card, and I'm still running into problems with storage that are beginning to make the phone unusable. It's full, to the brim. I've got 15.9 gigabytes used, according to my storage settings, and the phone is warning me that my apps are going to stop working as well pretty soon. Like I said though, I have an sd card with more storage space available than I will use before I get a new phone. Problem is, I can't seem to move any kind of bulk data to the sd card. Most apps on the phone are not permitted to be moved to external storage. I can move files but it's tedious and really, the stuff taking up the most space is the software and apps that I can't put on the sd card. I mentioned that moving picture and video files is annoying, but what I didn't mention is that I already did it, and it didn't even work. I managed to free up about a gigabyte of internal storage a few days ago, by moving files, and today I'm back to it being dangerously full. So is there a way to trick my phone into think the sd card is internal storage? So my pictures, apps I download, everything, will just seamlessly use the space available on the sd card? | Need help with S20 Ultra screen-off notifications Posted: 26 Oct 2020 06:06 AM PDT I've tried searching around and making setting changes and everything but I still haven't found a way to get any kind of notifications with the screen off on my new S20. Here are the settings I've made: Settings > Display > Edge screen > Edge Lighting
In the Samsung Messages app, Messages > Settings > Notifications
I had my wife send me a message with the screen off and there's nothing happening to show me that I have anything waiting for me. That's seriously annoying because I'm the kinda guy that just sets his phone aside and only picks it up when I need to look at something or see that I have a notification (previous phone was a Note 5 with a light that blinked consistently whenever I had anything), so if there's nothing letting me know I have a message to read then it'll just sit there until I pick it up for another reason. So recently I've noticed my phone doing the shittiest things I've ever seen. All the time I'm missing texts. I figured maybe my phone's just not loud enough, but I noticed what this little sack of shit is actually doing.
I've caught specifically my sms notifications flying off the side off the screen on their own before I can click them. Several times now. Just them, too. All the junk I don't want stays cluttering up the notification list.
Yesterday, I waited all fucking night for a text message. It's 7pm and there's no notification, I figure it's hiding the notification again. I open the Message+ texting app, and there is no messages. Just the last one from several days before. I waited a little bit longer, mind you this is around 7pm, then I go to send the first text. A text pops up. There was a text sent at 3pm and the fucking messaging app wasn't even displaying it the first time I opened it at 7pm Does anybody have the slightest clue why my phone is being such a cunt? I figured it was "Do Not Disturb" mode, but it's been turned off and this annoying bullshit is still happening. [link] [comments] |

The issue I'm having is when I set it up I leave it plugged in,but it eventually stop drawing power and the battery dies. Once it shuts off from dead battery it will charge the battery again. And so i turn back on and the app runs fine. Until it says "low power". Using Alfred app for reference. Any way to trick my phone into staying on full time? [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 26 Oct 2020 07:53 AM PDT Using gesture navigation with third-party launchers sucks because there's a noticeable delay when returning to the homescreen from any app, and the Recents screen is a little wonky as well. This has been an issue since gesture navigation was added in Android 10, and from my understanding it has to do with the fact that the Overview/Recents menu and some other aspects of gesture nav can only interact properly with the phone's stock launcher. But I'm wondering... Would installing a third-party launcher as a system app via adb shell fix this issue? I haven't seen anyone mention this anywhere else, so I'm guessing that's not the case but figured I'd ask. [link] [comments] |

When I went to charge it, it wouldn't turn on for like 20 minutes, and I could only see "Huawei" on a black background. After those 20 minutes, my Huawei finally turned on, but then "Your phone has encountered an error and has entered emergency backup mode" appeared and I now cannot access my phone. I've got 4 options now: Back up; Reset; Restart, Power Off. When I tap on Back up, it sends me to External storage, and then it says No memory card and it also says No USB devices. I do not understand this as I am not tech-savvy at all. I don't know what happened. I don't want to lose all my phone's data and files and images. Can someone please tell me what is happening? I didn't do anything in particular. The only thing I've done is download an iOS Emoji Keyboard, and it was 2 months ago. What should I do next? Thank you. I am quite worried. [link] [comments] |
