How to remove this network prompt on a Samsung S8+ Unlocked Phone (from Sprint)? See photo Posted: 28 Oct 2020 05:16 AM PDT It appears every now and then. Probably 3 times a day. Is there a way to remove it? I don't mind if it needs rooting or a custom rom installation. I just want to remove it. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 27 Oct 2020 08:44 PM PDT I'm looking for a new phone and right now I want either the s20, Oneplus 8 or note 20. I'm open to suggestions and I want to buy the best phone with the money I have instead of buying 1 phone and then regretting it. I wanted a pixel phone for software and Calyx OS but the performance can't compete with these phones. I don't use the camera that much but I still love having a good one. Especially if it beats an iPhone since a lot of iPhone users like to be annoying and brag about it... (It's my first time buying one of the top phones) Thanks! [link] [comments] |

Twitter for Android: Automatically clear app data? Posted: 28 Oct 2020 11:22 AM PDT I've been having this issue for months where my Twitter for Android app (1) displays Android emoji as the flat icons from Twitter for web, and (2) shows DM reactions as "..." instead of the icons. In the last month or so,, every time Twitter would have one of those big failures or mass glitches, the issues would be fixed for a few hours. I also figured out that clearing App data fixes this, but ONLY temporarily. Is there an app or something which can clear out data for a specific app automatically so I don't have to keep doing this? It's very clear Twitter is not looking to fix this as I have written emails, left Google Play store reviews, and it has been months of me having this problem. [link] [comments] |
Should I get Samsung S7 Tablet? Posted: 28 Oct 2020 03:41 AM PDT Currently owning a Samsung Note 9 & Samsung Buds+ Thinking to purchase a S7 Tablet but not sure if it worth it or not...what are your thoughts on it? Is it worth the price? Anything I should know? [link] [comments] |

GBoard Help: Changing Auto light/dark themes Posted: 28 Oct 2020 05:48 AM PDT I got a replacement phone (cracked) and most everything switched over well. An odd thing is the default Gboard light and dark are different themes on the new phone than old. How do I change the Auto Light and Dark keyboards. It switches fine in the day and night but i'd like different keyboard colors like the outgoing phone. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Oct 2020 05:34 AM PDT Hello, I got my pixel 3 XL two days ago (looks like refurbished as the box was sealed with third party stickers) and I flashed my device with the Google flash tool (web browser) and now I'm seeing widevine security level L3, therefore I can't watch Netflix video's on HD. Any way to fix this? I have never used any room or kernel stuff, locked the bootloader after flashing and disabled developer mode. [link] [comments] |
Disturbing privacy security issue Posted: 28 Oct 2020 09:13 AM PDT I first noticed it 50 days back. I slept with 23% battery and woke up with dead battery. Never happened before. I checked battery usage, it was this app "-5" I click on open, it opens Google photos. Now, I don't have wifi here and the cloud back up is turned off using mobile data. I thought may be some issue, took a screenshot and ignored it. But then, it happened again. And again. And again yesterday. I had downloaded data counter. I check and the photos app has used 1.3GB in last month. Doesn't look good. I am using MI A3. Stock android 10. September security patch. Installed avast and AVG antivirus, but nothing. Anyone can help? Shohid I be concerned? Pics attached. https://ibb.co/DwHDvhL https://ibb.co/0X9jL6T https://ibb.co/sW7Yw4p https://ibb.co/QM09cqT https://ibb.co/dc9zcqm [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Oct 2020 08:57 AM PDT Hello everyone! Recently, I've been thinking about changing my phone. I have the IPhone XS, I bought it when it was released to the public, so, It has been a couple of years since then. I just wanted to try an IPhone. It was my first high end cellphone ever, and I love it has never had a system crash, screen freezing, delay on changing the apps, etc. However, now that IPhone 12 was released, I was considering some other options. And I would appreciate any recommendations for this. I would like a good camera (something similar or better to what latest iPhones have), not that many camera things on the back, I just hate a cellphone which looks like a freaking security facility, excellent screen (maybe at 120hz), and most importantly, a cell phone with top performance (no screen freezes, no crashes, etc.) To be honest, I just lost track of the new releases, hence, the suggestions I ask are for me to get in the right direction. My price range is about 1k, could be somewhat above or below NP. I appreciate any feedback or suggestion provided! Additionally, if there is a better Reddit thread for asking this, let me know. Posted: 28 Oct 2020 08:56 AM PDT Alright, so my folks had a junk android box, I updated using Coolios firmware flashing from SD card, worked but no wifi. Tried to flash another firmware because it's useless without wifi and now it's in an endless boot loop. The hard reset button doesn't work, took it apart to have better access to the reset button, still cant boot to recovery. Another thing, I'm wondering if there is a code I can use in the remote to boot to recovery. When it was working, I tried flashing it from inside the OS after rooting using an app but it wouldnt see the .img file. Any help is appreciated, if it doesnt work it's going in the landfill and I hate throwing away electronics that could still serve a purpose. [link] [comments] |
How can i have a whatsapp voicecall on speaker with the screen off? Posted: 28 Oct 2020 02:54 AM PDT I take voicecalls over whatsapp pretty often and it really annoys me how the screen has to stay on or the call disconnects. Is it not possible to leave the screen off while i'm just having a voice conversation so i'm not obliterating my battery? Galaxy S9+ on Android 10 if it matter. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 28 Oct 2020 06:36 AM PDT I am trying to analyze some apps, specifically what files they create and move while being installed and while running. I've tried "file observer" and "file monitor" but neither seem to work very well. All I'm looking for is something that will show me directories created, as well as files created and moved. I'm currently using the Nox emulator since I'm operating from an airgapped system. [link] [comments] |

Galaxy S20 FE Andoid Auto Launch Issue Posted: 28 Oct 2020 04:30 AM PDT I'm having an issue launching Android Auto on my new S20 FE. First I had to change the default USB action to tethering in the Developer Options. Now when I plug in my phone I get a notification saying Android Auto is connecting... I have to unplug the phone which changes the notification to Android Auto is available. Then I plug it back in and it connects. Not only that but to start the process the phone has to be unlocked and the lock screen dismissed. [link] [comments] |
I find myself having to hibernate background apps after 5-10 mins. Posted: 28 Oct 2020 03:10 AM PDT I don't know why but I'll be using my phone and it will be going super slow so I'll go into ccleaner and hibernate 45 apps just to have to do it again after 5 or 10 minutes. Also could this be why my phone is slow charging? I've tried 3 different chargers. Please help [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Oct 2020 02:54 AM PDT Hello I have a Realme 7 Pro with Realme UI 1.0, I noticed that you can't change the lockscreen message for some reason ( if you're asking how I got the lockscreen message in the first place, I got from a Google Backup...I think) so my only chance getting an old cringey quote out of my phone is ADB. So does anyone know what "the code" I need to type is? or just any idea how to change/remove my quote. Would be better if I know how to change it rather than removing it. [link] [comments] |
Android 11: Pictures and Videos Saving location changed since Android 11 Posted: 28 Oct 2020 02:49 AM PDT I have noticed in my emulator that in Android 11, the photos and videos are getting saved in internal memory Pictures and Movies folder respectively but before it used to get saved inside DCIM folder for previous Android versions (<=10). Cannot find any documentation regarding it on Android page. This change is causing my app to fail as it keeps searching for picture inside DCIM folder. [link] [comments] |
Can't Open Android 10 Fairphone Files on Debian KDE Posted: 28 Oct 2020 02:28 AM PDT Hello 🙂 I've connected my Fairphone 3 (Android 10) to my Debian KDE (latest version) laptop via USB. I've enabled MTP file transfer on the phone. I can see the files of the phone's internal storage along with their names. However I can't open any of the files? 'Can't open file X' says Debian. Does anybody know how to fix this? [link] [comments] |
Weird issue with voice over IP on my Android phone Posted: 28 Oct 2020 02:01 AM PDT I have a very strange problem with my phone. I got an Android V90 phone which I was very happy with. It uses Android 9. Now when I talk on WhatsApp while speaker phone is on, there are apparently bothersome noises on the other end. They apparently hear sounds like crackling paper. When I am not on speaker phone it's fine. I immediately tried talking with that person on Hangouts and it had the same issue. I installed a voice recording app, tried recording my voice multiple times, all came out perfect. I tried recording and texting my voice on Whatsapp, again perfect. I also tried talking on speaker phone via a regular phone call, again no issue. I am stumped here. Why is this happening? I tried talking to 2 people via Whatsapp and both had different phone providers. Same effect. So this seems to be an issue with all voice over IP calls when I enable speaker. [link] [comments] |
