Posted: 08 Sep 2020 05:18 AM PDT I have an U49C7006 Android TV from TCL, and while image quality is very good, I'm constantly annoyed with crashes on Apps like Youtube and slowness. The TV takes more than 2 minutes just to boot. So, is it possible to completely remove Android TV and make it dumb? Or at least to somehow replace it with a lightweight Android version without all the bloatware? [link] [comments] |
[GUIDE] How to map buttons on Mi TVs Posted: 08 Sep 2020 08:17 AM PDT Hello, I finally found a solution to map the following buttons on Mi TVs- 1. Mi PatchWall button 2. Netflix Button 3. Prime Video button 4. Google Assistant button Please follow the steps below- 1. Map the buttons as usual in Button Mapper. 2. Go to Settings > Apps > Special App Access > Usage Access > Enable Button Mapper. 3. Go to Settings > Apps > Special App Access > Modify System Settings > Enable Button Mapper. After this, your buttons should work as you set in the Button Mapper app WITHOUT launching the app the button was made for. EDIT: Only single press and double press mapping works, long press ends up opening the intended app. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 07 Sep 2020 09:22 PM PDT Hi All, Going a little crazy here and trying to see if it is just me or an AndroidTV app issue. I have a Shield 2019 Pro and the last two shows I watched on Prime Video (The Boys and World's Most Difficult Race) had scenes where non-english was spoken and intended to have captions but no captions are present unless I turn on CC - English which then enables ALL captions for the show. I wouldn't care but captions drive my wife crazy, and I obviously know this isn't "as intended". I loaded it up quick in a web browser and it worked as intended (English captions when Spanish is being spoken but not when English is being spoken). Any others have experience with this? Or is it working as intended on your AndroidTV? Thanks much EDIT: For those who may have this issue see what resolved it for me below [link] [comments] |
Posted: 08 Sep 2020 04:29 AM PDT I am talking about Sony Android TV.. Not Android TV box. Yes, I am aware of NordVPN and its perfect for Android TV due to rotate but it is not free. I am looking for free VPN for Android TV. There are several good apps and worked great but the problem is that the whole app I found doesn't rotate and doesn't react very well to the remote. That's frustrated. Can you help ? Or do you know which app ? Sorry about my English and much appreciate. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 07 Sep 2020 02:19 PM PDT Curious how people set their Android tv boxes up with a 4ktv. I tried auto resolution, auto hdr, auto color depth. But unforntualy the box doesnt do what its supposed to on 4k Hdr Content. I have to manually set the resolution to desired one for a 4ktv, manually set color depth, manually set to Hdr. Anyone have this issue thanks? [link] [comments] |
No way to download files on android tv in 2020? Posted: 07 Sep 2020 10:53 AM PDT While I know various ways to download things, especially APKs to sideload, on other devices and get them to the Android TV box (Mi Box), I prefer to be able to just initiate the download on the TV box without having to take the extra step of moving the file. I had been using Puffin for that, but at some point I guess I accidentally let it update from the version that didn't have downloads blocked and when I tried to downgrade, the app refused to launch. I installed Downloader, but when I gave it URLs to download, it just gave me an error I couldn't resolve, and it gave me the same error when I tried to install the browser addon. I don't seem to be able to find any other app in the Play Store that lets me download from web. I tried the only other web browser app (TVWeb) I could find, but it doesn't even try to download files, it just sits there doing nothing if the link not a web page. Is there any method left getting files from the internet into the Android TV box within Android TV, or am I going to be stuck moving files from my other devices? [link] [comments] |
