On Xbox you can a Dolby Access app to get Dolby Atmos with any headset even if it doesn't come with it built-in. Is there something like this on Nvidia Shield TV Pro/Android tv?

I'm going to be using Bose NC 700's which I like but doesn't have built-in Dolby Atmos, at least I don't think it does.

I did find Dolby Atmos apk through a google search but I don't know if that's just meant for android phones or will work with android tvs as well.

Android box(Mi box) as android PC?

    Posted: 05 Sep 2020 03:34 AM PDT

Hey there! I was wondering, being able to run 4k60fps without stutters by the mi box can i use it as an android pc?

My needs: Youtube, web browsing, amazon prime video and some netflix, ms office, coding.( Very lite usage)

I dont expect it to be too powerful and i don't do any games ( i own a console)

Can it handle a few chrome tabs? And does the on screen keyboard disable when i connect an external keyboard( i dont like the on screen keyboard blocking like half of the screen)

Thank you! Any help would be appreciated !!

Specs to look out for streaming games ?

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 03:59 PM PDT

I've made another post but since then I've had another question , a more specific one. I would like to find a nice android tv box but my main focus would be game streaming and not local gaming on it. There's quite a difference. When we talk about gaming and tv box we think instantly of the Nvidia shield which makes sense, except when streaming games either for my own PC or from servers, from my understanding raw power won't necessarily mean much better performance at all.

In a scenario in which I specifically want something decent for streaming games from the cloud or my own PC , what specs should a look for in an android box? I don't think that the gaming focus of the Nvidia shield tv and its price would make a massive difference in my situation.

Looking to discuss this further because I lack the knowledge of this android box world .

Raspberry Pi 3, 3B+ and 4, Can I do Netflix and Amazon Movies, 'wife proof'

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 10:36 PM PDT

I hope that makes sense to anyone here with a wife.

We have 2 ipads, an iPhone an Android phone we could use as a remote control (or I could buy a $15 ebay one??) but I would really really like to be able to replace my PS4 with one of the 3 Pis in my house (yeah I got all 3 models)

Can it be done reliably? I have ethernet, only 1080p TV etc. Curious how good Android TV on Pi is? Worth wasting my time trying it?

Sorry to bug you guys, I only googled this about 15 minutes ago.

Must pass wife acceptance factor (!!)

New to android tv / sticks looking for suggestions

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 11:06 AM PDT

Not sure if this is where I should post but I'm looking for a decent android tv box in the likes of a fire stick Roku... You name it, that's good for streaming of games and fast enough to be fluid in the UI. Currently using a fire tv 1st gen and not only it shows its age but not having easy access to the Play store is a bit annoying. I know there are work around but I'd rather not I tried it and for some reason did not work this is on this device.

Looking for something that'll work maybe with game pas (xcloud), that'll work fine with moonlight ( android PC streaming app) steam link.. otherwise the usual Netflix , YouTube Spotify... I'm not sure what I'm looking for but I'm open to suggestions . Feel free to redirect me to the good sub Reddit if I'm lost
