    Does the google assistant on android tv do anything except for searching for youtube videos

    I switched to an android tv from lg webos bcz i wanted better integration between my google devices but i noticed that whenever i ask the google assistant on my tv for anything , 90% of the time it just pulls up YouTube search results, is this a default? , can it be fixed ?

    Expand internal storage Hisense H8G (issues)

    So I've been trying to use a USB stick to give some extra app storage. Bought a Memorex 32GB stick (cheap, could be the issue but wanted to test) and while the TV allows me to format as internal storage, it simple says "safe to eject" any time I try to check in device settings if it's working.

    I've tried FAT32 and exfat I believe, and have had to delete and repartition on windows as it can't see the drive--likely how it should be, but I can't use it for the TV apparently so figured it was worth reformatting there.

    So I'm at a bit of a loss, any suggestions? Already posted on Hisense board but no answers thus far.

    TCL P715 versus Mi Box S

    I'm fed up with buffering. Time for a new box I think. The picture stops for usually 2-3 seconds, while the sound continues. I don't know how to tell if it's the box or the content supplier - hints please?

    I'm in Thailand, watching UK TV. WiFi runs about 50Mbps, so I doubt if that's an issue. I got this box only last year, but haven't been too happy with it, very pretty, but who cares about that, it could be a Quasimodo model for all I care. Its an X10 PLUS if that matters.

    Recommendations for a new box?

    I run my own residential tech company, and would like to provide my customers after an install a free TV box for streaming.

    I would like it to be centered around my company logo, with certain pre-loaded apps (not custom apps). Amazon Prime video, Netflix, Hulu, Etc. etc.

    If anyone has experience, or recommendations where I can go to receive such service. Please let me know.

    I do plan on buying bulk android TV boxes. I'm assuming I would have to manually upload the code to them.

    how to lock nvidia Shield down to just Kodi?

    i only want my Shield to be used for Kodi for now, don't want the kids to access the games or whatnot.

    if i want to play games, then maybe it will ask for a password. otherwise, it's just Kodi.

    i tried "Launch on Boot" and it almost worked. i was still able to Exit Kodi easily by Exit on the menu or pressing Home button.

    Blurry UI on Android 4K TV

    I recently bought the 50 inch h6570G. However, it seems that the UI is not even close to 4k, or, is scaled incorrectly. This is most noticeable in the Netflix app, where the show thumbnails and the subtitles are extremely blurry (the show itself looks sharp). I was wondering if there is any way to fix this? On another TV that I have (samsung ru7100) the native netflix app UI looks sharp and I was wondering if there is any way to fix this?

    Can't sign in with multiple accounts in YouTube

    So I just bought a Mi Box S, and for some reason the YouTube app only lets me sign in with one account at a time. This is despite the YouTube app saying "Add as many accounts as you want..." on the Sign In page. I couldn't find anything on Google and I doubt the app lacks this feature, since the YouTube app on my 2012 smart TV can do it (despite not being updated for years).

    Any solution?

    Free music without adds and audio only (Spotify or YouTube clone - no cracks)?

    Disclaimer: I am not interested in any cracked apps. I am open to app clones from reputable developers that remove adverts on websites like XDA Developers.

    I have moved away from Spotify premium on my Android phone, in favour of Spotify Lite (no ads), YouTube Vanced, and YouTube Vanced Music. Using Set Orientation for Spotify Lite on my Shield TV works great, but most of the time you have to guess what is actually selected on screen as this does not highlight, and you cannot cast from Spotify Lite on another device. If you already have it running on Android TV and you open it on your phone (with the same account) and select something the UI will not respond on the phone but it will start playing on the TV. This could work but the drawback with this is that if you leave it running and you are not at home trying to use Spotify Lite your songs will only be playing at home, not to mention if you want to play music on your phone and someone else wants to use the Shield.

    There are ads when casting from YouTube Music Vanced to the Shield - on the Shield.

    Google Home does not yet allow adding the Shield TV to a speaker group

    Smart YouTube TV works great on Android TV, there are no ads but if you try to have audio only by going to your homescreen it pauses playback.

    Is there some way to do this? I am happy to root the Shield if necessary.
