My alarm hasn't gone off in the morning twice but it's activated for all weekdays Posted: 01 Sep 2020 05:17 AM PDT I, like many others use my phone as an alarm to wake up to in the morning. Last week on Thursday, my alarm didn't go off in the morning. It almost made me late. This morning it happened again, but thankfully I naturally woke up 10 minutes after it was supposed to go off. It seems my alarms are occasionally not going off, so if there's a fix for this please let me know. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Sep 2020 08:31 AM PDT Hi, I recently managed to root my Samsung Galaxy A3 2016 (SM-A310F) and decided to install /e/ OS onto it. when the WiFi is off, it works perfectly, no glitches, bugs, etc, however, when I turn WiFi on and try to connect, it freezes, shuts itself off and keeps doing that every time it connects to WiFi. I was on Lineage OS 16 before, and I know they pre-warn that it can brick the device, however, my phone isn't actually bricked, it just reboots once it connects to WiFi. I have tried reinstalling the OS multiple times, but that doesn't seem to work. The android version it's currently on is 8.1 oreo. if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this, please let me know. Posted: 01 Sep 2020 11:45 AM PDT I keep my phone on vibrate pretty much all of the time. As of a month ago, I started noticing that my sound would randomly reactivate and I would get sound notifications. It seemed only once in a blue moon but now it's several times a day that I put my phone back on vibrate only to get sound notifications and see that the ringer/sound is turned back on. Any ideas where to look for help on this? I've got a Samsung Galaxy S10+, running Android 10 on Verizon. I've restarted the phone several times. I haven't installed any new apps in this period of time. However, apps update all the time on their own so I'm not sure if that has an effect. [link] [comments] |
How to merge tethering and hotspot to be in one LAN? Posted: 01 Sep 2020 07:52 AM PDT I don't have network card in my computer so I use my phone with mobile data on connected to computer over USB to ask this question. My problem is I want to have computer (over USB to phone) and tablet (over wi-fi / hotspot to phone) to be in one LAN, because they doesn't seem to be when they're connected like that. Does anyone know how to easily solve this problem? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Sep 2020 11:34 AM PDT Hi. Is there any way to do it? Drives me nuts that Samsung wastes over 2GB of space on my phone for apps that I don't want or use. I'm using a Sprint Note9 SM-N960U, Android 10. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Sep 2020 11:31 AM PDT I've tried searching to avail, theres a lot of tutorials but none of them seem to go into details which version of galaxy note 20 ultra they used (snapdragon or exynos) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Sep 2020 11:21 AM PDT My friend never had his own phone here in the US, only a work phone provided by the company we both work for. Unfortunately he's leaving the US and going back to Germany. He signed himself up for a Google Voice number, and text me the new number, from his work phone. I mistakenly deleted our texts from his work phone number without saving the GV number. His phone has already been returned to our office, and wiped. So the texts are gone. Is there anyway on my phone to find the text? I tried contacting T-Mobile to see if they keep texts in their system, and they told me they don't. I have a Galaxy S10e and I use the Samsung stock texting app. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Sep 2020 11:17 AM PDT Is there any working fix for the "loud beep at end of call" problem? The phone is a Huawei P20 Lite. ( if you google it, you'll see the problem is older than this phone : https://www.google.com/search?q=loud+beep+at+end+of+call ) It is especially loud when talking hands free in the car. (I had the same problem on Nexus 5X too) There is no Snapchat installed (that is the proposed solution on most sites: delete snapchat or remove some permissions from it) [link] [comments] |
Dumb Question about OS/Phone App update Posted: 01 Sep 2020 11:12 AM PDT Hi everyone, So I've been using a friend's old S8 for the last year and it cracked so i bought the A21 because I could get that outright without it messing with my bill too much. Anyways, there's an update where on the phone app instead of that shortcut to putting in text messages it now goes to video calls. I'm ugly. I don't need this feature. Does anyone know how to change it back to a shortcut to texting? Anytime i try to look up phone app or text message it's too broad and takes me to something that's not this. [link] [comments] |
Is there a way to see which files an app is accessing once you give it permission to access storage? Posted: 01 Sep 2020 10:50 AM PDT For example, if I give an emualtor permission to access storage, is there a way to verify it is only looking at the files it needs? How do I check to see if it is snooping elsewhere? [link] [comments] |
How are Motorola with updates? Posted: 01 Sep 2020 10:28 AM PDT I search on Google but can't find much recent info so this is the only place I could think of to ask. I'm very interested in the Motorola One Fusion+ since it's the perfect phone for me spec wise. But that is no good if the software sucks. How is the support? For how long will I get updates? Are custom ROMs a thing at all? I would rather avoid custom ROMs but it's always nice to have as a backup. [link] [comments] |
I cannot change 'open supported link' behaviour of an app Posted: 01 Sep 2020 09:56 AM PDT Under the settings > apps > manage apps > default apps > opening links > here in the list whatever app i chose when i click open supported link, there are three options: Open, Ask everytime, Don't open. Whatever i click, it doesnt change. It always stays how it was. Phone: Xiaomi MI9 i dont use any custom rom or something. [link] [comments] |
Bootloop after flashing dtbo.img Posted: 01 Sep 2020 09:51 AM PDT Hey everyone, as the title says I flashed a wrong dtbo.img file in my phone and now I'm stuck in recovery mode. If I try to reboot to system it keeps bootlooping. I tried entering fastboot mode so I could use the "fastboot flash dtbo dtbo.img" command but the device isn't even recognised in my PC, tried multiple drivers with no success so far. All I can do is enter TWRP or Fastboot mode. I know I screwed up, I did a backup beforehand thinking it would help me if something went wrong, side note, it didn't. [link] [comments] |
Next alarm reporting improperly Posted: 01 Sep 2020 09:37 AM PDT I just got a Samsung A71 and overall I love it. I'm having one maddening issue though. The phone keeps telling me that my next alarm is set for 9:00 or 00:00. I have no alarms set. If I set an alarm then the phone reports properly. But if I remove the alarms it reverts back to saying 9:00. I found this link from ages ago with the same symptom. But I've uninstalled half of the apps on my phone and cleared cache on the other half and I can't get rid of the & %$! alarms. If anyone has any insight I'd be eternally grateful. [link] [comments] |
How to check if a phone has been tampered? Posted: 01 Sep 2020 09:16 AM PDT I'm using the phone of my dad now and I would like to know how can I be sure that no one installed something in a deep level or unlocked and relocked the bootloader, or something like that. Yes, it's a bit of paranoia. Should I get a new phone? [link] [comments] |
Former Android user wanting to come back after 11 years on iOS Posted: 31 Aug 2020 01:34 PM PDT So when I started my Smart Phone journey, I started on an Android device. I switched to iOS about 11 years ago because of a previous employer. With the release of the Pixel 4a, I am thinking of moving back to Android. Here's the catch: I have about 11 years worth of pictures and videos up in iCloud. What's the best way to transfer everything off of iCloud and into Android? I know it isn't gonna be easy, but I'm just tired of the Apple ecosystem. [link] [comments] |
Can I enable biometric signin for apps _without_ biometric signin for phone Posted: 01 Sep 2020 08:58 AM PDT I'd like to only allow my phone to lock/unlock using PIN. But once I'm in the phone, I'd like to quickly verify/authorize/log in to various apps using fingerprint/biometric signin. Is that possible to configure? (NB: Pixel 2XL, stock android 10, etc.) [link] [comments] |
phone wont turn off/ turns off when on lock screen Posted: 01 Sep 2020 08:12 AM PDT I don't know what changed this morning, but my phone screen is staying constantly on. If i turn it off by putting in lock, it turns on immediately. even though the setting for turn off for inactivity is 15 seconds, it will not turn off. I have tried restarting and powering off/on specs: t mobile galaxy s9 [link] [comments] |
Change key assignement to unlock my phone (Motorola One, Android 10) Posted: 01 Sep 2020 08:02 AM PDT Hey guys, so the unlock-key/ Power-Button of my smartphone is broken, it just doesnt work and i cant turn my phone on, if its "blocked". [link] [comments] |

How to edit short replies from the notifications Posted: 01 Sep 2020 07:44 AM PDT Now when I get a message, from the notis I can reply. Is there a way to edit those short replies? [link] [comments] |
Can I swap left & right channels? Posted: 01 Sep 2020 03:22 AM PDT I have a wired headphone that has 2 3.5mm plugs, one for the speaker and one for the mic. I usually only plug in the speaker one on my phone, and if I do that, it will use the phone's mic instead of the headphone mic. Because of that, I bought a 3.5mm splitter so I can plug in both plugs to my phone. It's working really nicely, but there's one problem: the channels were switched. The sound on the left came out on the right side, vice versa. This problem occurs on both my phone and my laptop. I've found a way to swap the channels on my laptop, so it's no longer a problem, but I can't figure out how to do it on my phone. Is there anything I can do to swap the left and right channels? Or maybe is there any app that I can use to do that? It's really frustrating when I'm playing games on my phone. I'm currently trying to swap out the splitter I bought with a new one, hopefully it fixes the problem. But for now, if there's something I can do to swap the channels, I'm definitely gonna try it out. My phone is Oppo realme 3 with Android 10. I've read another post that suggested to use SoundAssistant, but the app is not compatible with my phone. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Sep 2020 06:09 AM PDT Greetings. I am a owner of a OnePlus 5 8/128. The phone is now over 3 years old and I am looking for my next purchase and I am curious what is a good phone for the price, because I don't want to waste money on Samsung, Huawei or even the OnePlus 8 (even though I love the phone so much, I just can't afford it right now). My question would be if there is any 2020 or upcoming 2021 phone that is in the $450-600 range that would actually be worth to buy, or should I keep my OnePlus 5 for another year and maybe just buy OnePlus 8 then, since the price will go down? I have considered OnePlus Nord, but I think it won't be much of an improvement over OnePlus 5 (even though I could be wrong). I would love to hear some opinion on this. Thank you! [link] [comments] |
