- My mother recently updated her phone and can no longer receive or make calls. She can text. When she tries to make a call a prompt appears that says "Call is not connected, would you like to retry?" Is this an issue easily resolved in the settings or do I need to dig deeper?

I k ow that the trashcan deletes pictures after 30 days, but if i delete just some random photo from today, it doesn't appear in the trash. But the trashcan still works normally for private folders. I've got a UK account, but since the last update my Google Play store is displaying everything in USD, and on top of that, I'm unable to install UK based apps as the app apparently isn't available in my country. | Some apps started malfunctioning out of the blue Posted: 11 Sep 2020 09:43 AM PDT I have a Samsung A3 android phone (2017 make running android 8.0) and have been loving it so far because it's small and lighter. Gets lost in pocket. Now I'm afraid I'll have to replace it soon. Began 2 hours ago. Gmail crashes after opening, the send feedback feature crashes if I choose to send feedback. Chrome does the same. Google Maps works fine. Some other 3rd party apps don't work. Whatsapp works fine. I haven't updated anything or done anything out of the ordinary before this happened. Googled it but no luck. Since then my touchpad has been off, not connecting to 4g, just freezing randomly, unable to load apps, long loading times for what does load, typing by itself even if my hands isn't even on the phone. Posted: 11 Sep 2020 07:12 AM PDT A friend of mine bought a moto e running Android 10 the other day and had the guy in the store set it up for them, but got some weird vibes from the dude and was scared he did something iffy to the phone. I told my friend just to factory reset the phone and it should be OK, but I wanted to ask the subreddit if there's anything else they could check or should do to make sure it actually was secure after the reset? | Posted: 11 Sep 2020 09:00 AM PDT Rencently I've been having a few odd bugs with the YouTube app, mainly YouTube visors sometimes don't play audio when I play them but instead the captions are on automaticaly (my audio setting are fine) closing the vid and opening it again doesn't fix it but closing the app and opening it does somehow. Another weird thing is that my search suggestions are off,when searching somthing the app does try to autocomplete the search for me as it used to do (my search history is off but it still used to throw suggestions at me while im searching things and it suddenly stopped). Also im seeing alot of posts ofrom accounts getting randomly suspended on r/youtube even tho they dont upload,whats that about? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 11 Sep 2020 12:15 PM PDT My father is one of those use it until it breaks type of people and has been using his Motorola Droid Mini (XT1030) for 7 years at this point. He finally got a new phone, motorola g power, now that his battery is shot and none of his texts can transfer over. The store has tried everything they could think of. Does anyone know a way to save the texts to a computer or another way to send the texts over to the new phone? Does anyone know if this impacts battery life in any significant way? Location is set to always on in maps anyway but I do get the little location sharing icon in the status bar frequently. | Missing text messages when switching apps or backup/restoring Posted: 11 Sep 2020 12:07 PM PDT I used a Samsung Galaxy S10+ with the default Message app (I think that is built by Samsung). I tried transferring, backing up and restoring, and I am missing several messages I sent in the threads. So I tried switching from the default Message app to the Google Message app and also SMS Organizer on the original phone but when I do that those same messages don't move into the new app. Any thoughts? Posted: 11 Sep 2020 05:59 AM PDT I am using a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra with Android 10 and can't find any option to add holidays to the Samsung Calendar app. I have three horizontal lines at the top left. If i click on that i can change the view and look at my accounts. If i choose the gear symbol in this view i can change colours and different stuff but no holidays. | How do you judge a phone camera's MP? Posted: 11 Sep 2020 02:32 AM PDT I am a bit confused when it comes to camera resolution on mobile phones, how they're ranked and what they mean realistically. I'm on LG G6, which has 13MP camera. It's a bit dated by now, so I'm starting looking into a new phone and reading some specs. Take Galaxy S10 for example, with 12mp camera. Kinda weird that a flagship released couple years after my phone has lower resolution, but resolution isn't everything, image processing, sensors, light sensitivity etc matters more so whatever. Then a year later we have S10 lite with 48MP sensor, which sounds like a step-up from it's "premium" model. Odd jump but okay. Current mid-top phones have 32/48/64MP cameras, which seems reasonable as tech develops, even if photo results are downscaled you still often have access to higher res which is a nice bonus. And then comes again the rumoured S20 FE, with leaks suggesting a 12MP camera. Isn't 12MP ridiculously low for 2020 phone in the higher price range, compared to its big brother having 64MP camera? Or if it's kinda similar in output, why reasons for 64MP sensor to begin with, what's the practical difference? [link] [comments] |

This call is very important. A messaged displayed on my screen about "Verifying a business" which I had never seen before. As I tried to switch over from my Dad's call, the other call was lost, and there is no record on my verizon app, or web call logs about the call. I have no way to call them back and do not want to miss the job opportunity. I am 100% sure I did not hang up on them, it just vanished/dropped without a trace. | Motorola Edge Plus vs Samsung S10 Plus Posted: 11 Sep 2020 07:33 AM PDT So after over a decade of company provided phones I've accepted a new position which does reimbursement instead of providing one. I'm currently on a Note 10 after trading my s10 Plus, I've got big paws so I usually go for the largest phone i can. The Motorola caught my eye as its bigger than the s10+, has a bigger battery, twice the ram and twice the on board storage (granted no micro SD slot tho) and quite comparable in price. Case availability for the Motorola is pretty poor but I'm sure I can find something decent. Anyone out there interested in chiming in with their opinion on which is better? | Bricked Galaxy S9 out of nowhere? Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 issue??? Posted: 11 Sep 2020 06:31 AM PDT Quick breakdown: I was driving, galaxy s9 plugged into android auto at 100% battery. Out of nowhere the maps/music stop and my watch disconnects from bluetooth. Get home and screen is black, no haptic feedback, but there is a blue led (notification light) blinking. However all the tricks to get it to shut down/reset/reboot/restart aren't working. Took it to tmobile (I'm sprint but they merged) at this point but they said they couldn't do anything until the phone died since there was no way to shut it off. Finally died this morning and we charged it up and tried booting it up again. No luck. My partner plugged it into their computer only to get the Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 indication.. Googling says it means my phone is bricked. Is there any advice on what to do at this point? I've had this phone for 1 year and 4 months and I've never had a phone just go belly up like this. I can't afford a new one and I'm panicking because my phones usually last at least 3-4 years! [link] [comments] |
