Been researching ways to create customize homepage tiles using apps like TV App Repo. I'm trying to make an icon that loads Youtube on a specific video or channel. ANY way to do that?

Revamped & Better Prime Video App on Mi TV Stick

Revamped & Better Prime Video App on Mi TV Stick

I personally own a Mi Box 4K (or Mi Box S). It's Prime Video is app is very outdated with very slow startup time, no smooth scrolling and thumbnails, and no profile switching options. The app isn't available on the Play Store hence hasn't received any updates till now. I was watching a YouTube review of Mi TV Stick and I noticed that it has a completely different and revamped Prime Video app. What is the reason behind this and is this app available for other Android TVs? Can anyone find the APK for this so that it can be side-loaded?

TCL android TV - Is there any good setup tips, tweaks I can do.

    Posted: 14 Aug 2020 04:02 AM PDT

I recently got a cheap TCL TV with android TV built into it, for use in a bedroom where the TV doesn't need to be high-end or fancy but having built in chromecast and some smart features was preferable.

Is there a good way to change the layout? I don't like having to scroll horizontally through countless apps I have or will have installed .

What's the best way to sideload apps and manage them?

Is there any good tweaks I can do to make the most out of Android on my TV?

Finally are there any 'must have' apps I should get? I currently have solid file explorer so I can access my NAS and in case I need it for anything else.

    Can't Navigate Hulu App

    Posted: 13 Aug 2020 08:07 PM PDT

I sideloaded the Hulu App onto my Mibox S, but I can't navigate it. I try to switch from tv, movies, etc and I can't even get the remote to select them. Did I sideload the wrong version? All I'm able to do is scroll through my recently watched and the front page. Scrolling up to even search is not possible.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Are there different packages for phone and tv? I tried to use the android tv remote app for the touchpad feature and even then I couldn't navigate.

Best Android Box for VLC Player

    Posted: 13 Aug 2020 12:38 PM PDT

    Hi All,

I am looking for some recommendations for a new android tv box to keep in the bedroom with a USB connection primarily for using VLC player.

I keep all of my media on external drives, and one of the key reasons for using VLC is that I prefer to control the playback speed when watching certain TV Shows.

I currently have a Shield TV in the living which is excellent and serves as my Plex server and use the VLC player app when I wanted to watch media with controlled playback speed.

Currently, in my bedroom, I have a Samsung TV which contains all the smart apps I need (Netflix, Prime, etc.) so I won't be needing those features and just looking for something simple which I can connect an HDD/USB Stick and play via VLC.

Another Shield TV would be overkill for my use here so was looking for some recommendations on some cheaper options that will do the job.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Connecting Laptop to Philips 24" Android TV

    Posted: 13 Aug 2020 06:16 PM PDT

Hi everyone, I just bought the 24" Philips Android TV to use as a tv, as well as an external monitor for my Windows 10 laptop. I used an HDMI cable to connect the two but it's coming out extremely blurry. Is there another way to set this up so display is more clear?

I was previously using a curved Samsung monitor and it was working quite well..

    Thank you!
