! AndroidTV July Update - Removed Support for NTFS External Drive Posted: 28 Jul 2020 11:24 PM PDT Hello, yesterday my Philips OLED854 has been upgraded from TPM191E_R.001.002.173.010 to TPM191E_R.001.004.100.000, running Android 9. In the update, the NTFS capability of writing on external HDD via USB , has been removed. I don't know the reasons, but any app (Kodi, Solid Explorer etc) won't let you writing data, move files, create fils or folders. I've been told that TLC brand seems having the same side effect from the update. And i can indeed confirm that came with the last update, because i managed to downgrade the TV to version TPM191E_R.001.002.173.010 and , now, it reads/write NTFS file system without any problem, as it used to. Of course i turned off the automatic updates. Anyone of you is experiencing the same issue ? I'm really trying to make Philips aware of the issue (intended or not), so the more issues are flagged, the more chances we have they would actually look into. PS : it seems that, early on this year (around February or March) the same thing happened to the MiBox Android TV. It might be something totally up to Android. Thanks to everyone! EDIT: Philips is escalating the issue internally, higher levels, because it's supposed to work. It might have fallen thru the QA process. [link] [comments]

Looking for a new remote (suggestions) Posted: 29 Jul 2020 05:55 AM PDT My Rii MX6 (version 1) just stopped working suddenly a few weeks ago and they no longer make it. I really liked using it and the version 2 (backlit version) doesn't have programmable buttons for some reason. I'm looking for suggestions on a new remote. Musts: Well built, IR learning feature for the TVs power button and volume at least, Keyboard, Air mouse Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Jul 2020 05:01 AM PDT Hi, quick question: is it possible to sideload Google Assistant and get it working on an Android TV with Chromecast built-in? Sorry if this question is already asked, couldn't find it. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Jul 2020 12:53 AM PDT I've downloaded an entire season 1-5 of Better Call Saul 1080p at my workplace and when I cast it to my Mi Stick TV it decided to load again from my wifi internet(1mbps) at crappy quality. Why not cast it like a local video from my phone? Mirroring quality also bad. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Jul 2020 04:35 AM PDT So I bought a sony x75h cause it's a cheap androit tv, I saw that you can play games on this with a wired controller, my question is does the red dragon saturn g807 work with this and if not is there any workaround. [link] [comments]

Posted: 28 Jul 2020 09:51 PM PDT I'm currently using a Chromecast Ultra on my LG TV. I did want to get some more functionality out of the TV such as the use of certain apps. How future proof is the Mi Box? It's there anything else which I can consider at that price point? [link] [comments]
