Posted: 31 Jul 2020 03:23 AM PDT I wanted to give android a go as I was tired of the old ui of iphone, so I bought a Galaxy 9+ I was constantly given the impression that on android I could customise almost anything yet I am unable to complete the most basic setting changes, such as:

Posted: 31 Jul 2020 09:27 AM PDT I generally defer updates because I'm doing something and then never remember to do it manually when I'm done, so inevitably my phone ends up giving me the final "your phone will restart in 10 seconds" message and there's nothing I can do. Is there a way to prevent this? What if I was lost in the woods and conserving battery power or something, and my phone just decided I can't defer my update anymore and restarts itself. Posted: 31 Jul 2020 06:25 AM PDT I recently switched from an iPad to a Tab S5e and I have no regrets after a week of use. The only issue I've had have been weird color banding on the Play Store, no HDR, and most of all, black bars when watching videos. Including but not limited to YouTube. On Apple if you used any browser that wasn't Safari, you could double tap to "crop in" on the content. Here it just fast forwards. I've tried all kinds of gestures to no avail. Has anyone found a fix? P.S. If you don't know of a fix, I would appreciate if you up-voted the post so it could get more attention. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 31 Jul 2020 11:38 AM PDT Got a spigen screen protector for my Samsung Galaxy S9 and enabled "touch sensitivity" in settings, since it was not sensitive at all with it off, but now it's just too sensitive with it on. If there any sliders anywhere in developer options or some app perhaps, so I could select the exact sensetivity I want? It has the latest android 10 [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 31 Jul 2020 11:31 AM PDT So I moved photos from my txt message app folder to my camera folder. (This is because I don't want to backup what is in that folder just a select few pictures from time to time) Anyways in the messages folder the moved photos still show up in there even though they were moved. They cannot be opened however and the thumbnail does not show up. The files do show up just fine to where i moved them to. I thought this was an issue with the photos app so I cleared data and cache but still had the same issue. Using the file manager I can see the same issue so I'm guessing it's a caching issue with Android itself. Has anyone else had this problem before? [link] [comments] |

The URL varies but I've seen a couple multiple times. I suspect one of my apps is sending an intent to Chrome, but I can't figure out which one. | Problems setting up adoptable storage Posted: 31 Jul 2020 11:13 AM PDT My girlfriend and I recently got micro SD cards, with the intent of adding more storage space to our phones (see end of post for phone specs). I was able to install the cards (and our phones each recognize the cards), but I can't move any apps to the cards, and I can't find the option for enabling adoptable storage. I've found the option to format the cards as portable storage, but not adoptable storage. I did some research, and other than guides that don't work for me, the only answer I've found is that some manufacturers disable adoptable storage on their phones, but I've had trouble finding a firm list of who does. tl;dr my questions are: 1) Can I either move apps to an SD card, or enable adoptable storage, on either of my phones? If so, how? 2) If not, is there some other way to move app data to the SD cards in a format that still allows the phone to read/write it? I'm imagining either some third-party app, or using a desktop computer somehow, but I'm open to most suggestions, although I would be hesitant about rooting the phones. My phone specs below. | Something is wrong with my phone's Swype/autocorrect/prediction Posted: 31 Jul 2020 11:12 AM PDT When I be use my other phone, the predictions/typing is generally right on but on this phone, I find that it tries to enter words that don't make any sense and I have to Swype the let's letters right on for it to figure it out. On my other phone, I don't need to swipe it spot on, I can be a bit of and it will predict accurately what I want to say. Am I out of my mind? [link] [comments] |

Apps like Month Calendar Widget only shows my secondary gmail to sync with, tried another calendar widget-same thing. I have registered Android Beta Program, so my Pixel's Android version is 11(R), the latest patch was A few days ago, my phone has powered down suddenly and rebooted. But I didn't care about that because it was beta. However, it has occurred faster over and over again. Now my phone reboot repeatedly after 10 seconds it was booted up. Also in safe mode. I can't use my phone anymore. When I watched Logcat logs with connected my Pixel 4 XL, I found the error like this: But I cannot found a relating source on android.googlesource.com There is no It looks like an invalid timestamp variable problem caused by that Is there anyone who gets the same error? Then while it's connected also have my controller hooked up to it. Like some kind of cord that can plug in to my charging port (USB C) then split off into two cords, 1 being a regular USB port (female) and the other being a hdmi port (female)? I'm tired of factory resetting when (relatively small) internal memory gets filled by updates I never asked for, or when the phone is just full of other junk, that slow it down (I have tried AMC Security cleaner, but it gave me just a little more time till the phone got totally jammed). I forbid automatic updates of apps and I'm manually choosing only updates of those I usually use or those that are important for the system... My primary files storage (downloads, images...) is external SD card... idk if there is anything else I can do. So I'm asking for your advice - does it worth it to root my phone and if so, which OS would you recommend (my current OS is Android 5.1) - keep it or use any other Android, some Linux distribution, or something different? | Accidentally deleted gallery app from an old Samsung Galaxy Core Prime Posted: 31 Jul 2020 09:22 AM PDT While debloating the phone from ADB, I decided to remove the built in Samsung Gallery app. The phone has Google Photos, so I thought it wouldn't be a big deal. However, I realized that only the stock gallery app can set the wallpaper. I have tried numerous ways of getting the app installed again, but nothing so far has worked. The app's package ID is I have searched everywhere online to get the APK, but I can't find any one with the same version. apkmirror.com seems to have one which is slightly newer, version 3.0.37, but when I try to install it, I get a Is there anywhere I can get the apk for that specific version of the Samsung Gallery app? If not, is there a way to set the wallpaper without the gallery app? I tried using the Google Wallpapers app, but it tries to redirect me to the gallery and gives me an "App not installed" message. I know that a factory reset would solve this, but as this is not my phone, it isn't an option. I'd really appreciate if someone could help, Thank you. [link] [comments] |
