Sony X900F Network Speed 10x slower than it should be?

    Hi All,

So I sideloaded speedtest.net app on to my Sony X900F to check network speeds. From our ISP we have a Gigabit connection. When I do a speedtest on the TV it only gets around 94Mbps though. The TV is on a wired connection. When I do a speedtest on a PC which is connected to the same switch as the TV it gets 945Mbps. So why is the TV showing such a significantly lower speed?

Hulu Live ESPN Quality is Terrible

    Posted: 30 Jul 2020 05:22 PM PDT

I've been trying to watch as much of the MLS tournament as I can, but the picture quality is terrible when playing from Android TV.

I have a Shield 2019 and it's wired Ethernet with gigabit FiOS internet.

    • If I play using the native Hulu app on Android TV, it is terrible.
    • If I cast from Hulu to my Shield the picture is great

    What's up with that?

    App to control decibel output?

    Posted: 31 Jul 2020 05:08 AM PDT

I know it is a long shot, but I was wondering if there is an app to control the output volume of my Android TV?

When I watch shows, (on Netflix or Youtube), the volume fluctuates because the editor/director felt that I needed to hear really loud music all of a sudden..

So it would be great if there was an app that could control the decibel volume coming out of the app playing the sound.

Or maybe it is simply not that easy to manage/control?

    Thanks

    Mi stick navigation problem

    Posted: 30 Jul 2020 04:40 PM PDT

    Hi all,

Just bought a mi stick TV, with Android TV and I'm not having fun. First of all, my fault I didn't know the only app I want to use is not supported (I want to watch football with the app my operator provides and it is the only way to watch the premium channels). Second, I managed to install it, I side loaded it, easy. But when I'm running the app, I have to log in, and the login menu is like a popup over the screen. The deal is, when that happens, I can't navigate anymore. I can't move up, sides, Down, nothing. Seems that it doesn't recognize something appears in a new layer.

    Anyone can help? Please?

No Netflix 5.1 Audio with HDMI in Xiaomi Mi Box S (but it does Amazon Prime)

    Posted: 30 Jul 2020 11:19 AM PDT

I have a Xiaomi Mi Box S connected to an A/V Denon X3600H using an HDMI cable. When I play a TV show using Amazon Prime, GooglePlay Movies, or any other app I tried, I get 5.1 Digital Sound. However, on Netflix, I can see the symbol 5.1 in the TV shows main page, but then I don't have any 5.1 option in the audio menu when playing it. The signal received by the AV is just PCM. I tried everything I can think of, but no luck at all. Can you help me? Thanks

Can my Sony Android x900f TV read files from my PC over HDMI?

    Posted: 30 Jul 2020 09:48 AM PDT

I was streaming movies from my PC to the TV via Plex, but there's occasional buffrring due to wifi with huge bitrate files so I'm wondering if I can play these files directly from the PC on TV/Plex app?

They are already connected via HDMI so trying to find a way to natively play the files over TV's OS since it's bothersome to adjust HDR and refresh rate with every movie when playing over desktop.

Getting TV to play content from YouTubeTV

    Posted: 30 Jul 2020 08:10 AM PDT

I have a Sony BRAVIA X850E w/built-in assistant. I can control on/off, pause, volume +/-. I can ask via one of our minis/hubs to play X from Netflix on THE TV and it works, HBO works as well. But, if I ask to watch BBC from Youtube TV on THE TV, it will say "Sure, playing BBC from YouTube TV on THE TV....sorry something went wrong. Give it another Try." If I just say "Watch BBC on THE TV", I get the same response. Sometimes it will say the show I want is available from several sources and ask which one I like, but if I choose YTTV -- "Sure, playing X from YouTube TV on THE TV....sorry something went wrong. Give it another Try." This USED to work -- I could just say the channel or the program and voila -- but over the past few weeks -- no dice. Anyone have a solution?

Bought an android TV and I'm regretting it

    Posted: 30 Jul 2020 11:29 AM PDT

I'm trying to get hulu to work on the tv. I sideloaded the app because my tv is a piece of shit and is not compatible with the playstore app but now I don't see it in my apps. How can I get it into my apps?

Ok got it to work with chromecast and my phone. Much easier.
