| Posted: 24 Apr 2020 07:05 AM PDT A few months back..maybe last fall I bought a TCL UnionTV version 9. Mostly just got it for the built in chromecast and netflix. When I got it, it had a really nice menu, well nicer, than what is there now. The old menu when I pressed home was a grey color, and included a "channel" or section in amongst the other channels that allowed you to select which HDMI input you wanted, etc. Recently there must have been an update or something, because the menu is now a reddish color, and this is gone. It now has to be accessed via another button. Also, I can't really seem to find any controls for the chromecast any longer. The chromecast had actually disappeared, so I was looking for a menu item to check it's status, but I couldn't find anything anywhere. I eventually ended up doing a manual restart, but it still wouldn't come back. I had the TV connected via ethernet, the wifi is configured (it used to be wifi only). I had to disconnect the ethernet and finally the chromecast came back. Anyone know much about these TVs? The specific model is the TCL 40S6500 [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 23 Apr 2020 07:26 PM PDT Hi all, I have a question regarding the Auto Refresh Rate feature on Mi Box 3 (Android 8.0). I assume this is an inbuilt feature that isn't able to be toggled on or off? There is an option in display>screen resolution>auto switch to recommend resolution of tv. I have this switched off and locked at 1080p 50hz but I assume this is not related to the Auto Refresh Rate switching fixture. I currently Kodi set up on Mi Box 3 with Auto Refresh enabled within Kodi. The refresh rate correctly changes according to the media being played. This makes me assume that the Auto Refresh Rate Switching feature in the Mi Box 3 is not something you have to turn on to enable? Is this correct? [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 23 Apr 2020 05:09 PM PDT I have been really excited for this TV ever since I saw they were brining quantum dot technology to Android TV at a mid-level price range. No one else has done that before. At least not in North America. My only problem is the pricing between the 50 inch and 55 inch is a big difference on Amazon. 50 inch is $421 and the 55 inch is $599. All basic specs are identical from what I researched. Only difference is the size far as I can see. However I remember seeing somewhere a long time ago that last year's 50 inch H8F had way less local dimming zones than the 55 inch H8F. So can anyone provide me with how many local dimming zones the 50 inch H8G and how many the 55 inch H8G have? [link] [comments] | ||
