| Phone won't stay on Do Not Disturb throughout the night Posted: 24 Apr 2020 09:47 AM PDT I'm at the end of my fucking rope here. For the past few months, I've been woken up in the morning at various times by by phone's vibrating notifications because something is causing Do Not Disturb to be turned off in the early morning. I have a Samsung Galaxy A50 (and a fitbit) and a starting a few months ago, I would wake up every other day because my phone would be buzzing even though I had scheduled it to be completely silent. I have tried looking this up on the internet to no avail; every post on the topic is about Do Not Disturb turning *on* on its own, not turning *off* on its own. I have tried scheduling, I have tried adjusting exceptions, I even tried turning scheduling off and forcing it to be toggled manually. No matter what I do, I wake up to buzzing and I look at the setting and Do Not Disturb has turned itself off. I'm so fucking tired. Please help before I have a meltdown. [link] [comments] |

I am a noob at these things, and i cannot find a way to flash, i just don't know what to do and how to install the rom onto the device. I don't know how to go into twrp flash either, even tho i installed the official app. My device is already rooted, so does that take away one step? I have prepared everything , aside from nandriod or any system backup, because this device recovery does not show any option related to backup. Plz help! [link] [comments] |

| Strange "message" notification, trying to find out if it is dangerous Posted: 24 Apr 2020 10:59 AM PDT Hi, can somebody help me figure out if my phone has been infected or hacked? It is on Android 6. There was a notification from an unknown app, looks like some kind of messenger or sms, you can see it in the picture. Top is the notification icon, bottom is the notification itself. I have google hangouts disabled, I have had WhatsApp in the past but it is uninstalled. I have currently installed Signal, CoffeeMeetsBagel and Skype, but they have different icons. No other messaging apps. Anrdoid doesn't show any new messages (SMS). On the phone I browse very little and safe sites (Firefox Focus and Firefox browsers). Can this be an attack from a browser? I'm generally quite careful with permissions in apps and what I install. I didn't click the thing, but restarted my phone instead and it is now in airplane mode. Now the notification is gone and I can't find where it was from. There is no SMS like that on the phone. No app contains any message like this, either. Does the notification look like a potential danger? Any ideas what it might be? I'm hoping it's some kind of bugged spam message from one of the messaging apps but can't explain how that would happen. Something possibly related (or not): A few days ago I got an email with title "MMS" in my protonmail account from a number I know [number]@mms.orange.es. To me it looks like somehow I got an mms to my phone number into my email. Wtf? Or maybe I gave them the email address at some point and there's a service in Spain that does that, no idea. I've just gone thru the: Settings->System Updates->Download Update->System Updates->Update Now->Restart Routine about 8 times so far and I'm STILL on Android 7. | An audio file keeps appearing in my phone storage Posted: 24 Apr 2020 12:14 PM PDT A .mp3 file titled "au_uu_SzH34yR2" keeps appearing in my storage and Play Music. However the file is empty, and by empty I mean that it has a length of 0:00, but it has a file size of 1.11 KB. I have deleted it several times, only for it to reappear on my phone a day or two later. Any idea where this file is being downloaded from or what I should do about it? Thanks in advance! | Posted: 24 Apr 2020 11:02 AM PDT Hi all, I have an OnePlus 7 Pro with Android 10, Patch level March 1, 2020 (T-Mobile USA version firmware). I have the alert switch set to "Ring." Volumes of "Ring volume," "Media volume" and "Alarm volume" all set to maximum. "Do not disturb" is off (but goes on automatically during typical sleeping hours). However, for whatever reason, except for some phone calls, I do not get audible alerts, even though the volumes are up and the switch is in "Ring" (out loud) mode. This has been happening for months and I'm really sick of missing important messages because it doesn't beep audibly. Can someone please help me get audible alerts going again? I have checked "Notifications" in "Settings" as well. I use "Textra" for my SMS app, "Signal" for other communications, and T-Mobile's "Visual Voicemail" for ... voicemail. Thank you! | Android backup of all meaningful user data to PC Posted: 24 Apr 2020 10:40 AM PDT Please forgive me if this question was already answered, but I'm looking for some suggestion on how to exactly do the stated in the title. Family member deceased 2 years ago (father) and after that we only removed the sim and left the phone in a box. The phone in question is Huawei Y6 II Compact. I would like to give that phone to granma. In the past, beside standard Google backup and preinstalled Huawei backup services, I would use adb backup and TWRP or CWM backup, but that was done on my phones and they were all rooted, I had access to all the accounts and had no problem in going through the stuff on the phone. I have a bit of an emotional problem going through his stuff from his last days and I can't read through his things and individually backup messages, pictures, histories and accounts on the device. I'm not sure that I have his access information to all the accounts he used, his sim card is disabled; it is possible that he has written it down somewhere. In any case, I would like to backup all of his data on the phone in some form that I can, at a later time when I feel a bit more comfortable with the task, browse through on my PC and after that factory reset the device before giving to granma. The whole thing is a bit more emotional than it should be, but I really don't wish to lose anything from him and I also don't wish to give the granma the phone with his things, it would break her heart. What would you suggest? Root it, titanium or TWRP backup and move it to my PC? Can I browse through the filesystem later? Some other way? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |

I don't want to wait for the ROG 3, RP3, or whatever else comes out this year. My phone is dying, and I've been an iPhone customer since 2010. Being a PC gamer, I figured I would look for specs first when it came to buying a new phone. I take pictures, but I'm colour blind anyways, so the camera quality isn't that important to me. I already ordered the Red Magic 5g 3 days ago, and I think I'm feeling some buyer's remorse. I spent almost 1000$ CAD on this thing for the 12GB version. All I saw for the 12h I was researching this thing on Youtube was positive reviews, but as soon as I came to Reddit instantly everything was negative. Should I cancel my order, and refund this phone in favour of an iPhone 11 Pro? The Black Shark 3 is ok, but just too big for a daily in my opinion. I thought the pretty numbers on the Red Magic 5g were everything, but after some research I discovered that iPhone's are still more powerful than Androids even with the smaller numbers. I was shocked. Better cameras, infrastructure, support, hardware.. I'm not hard on cash, so the extra couple hundred bucks won't eat me away. I also don't need anymore than 64GB of memory. Posted: 24 Apr 2020 10:32 AM PDT I'm referring to the old swipe up from the bottom to go home, and swipe up from either side of the bottom to go back, gestures. They were seemingly removed on newer devices on Android 10 - my OnePlus 8 Pro shipped without them. Is there a way to reenable them? Doesn't matter if it needs root/a Magisk module or whatever. | Posted: 24 Apr 2020 10:26 AM PDT Hey everyone, recently I've been noticing more and more that apps I used are now promoting me to choose an external browser to open links instead of just opening them in app. More specifically discord and gmail. I've tried google searching fixes and it seems for discord everything is how it should be for it to work (settings/ app settings/ behavior / use chrome custom tabs) and for gmail I cant find the setting that is being said to use online (general settings/ open web links in gmail) For discord, even tho that is checked it still asks me to open in an external browser and for Gmail the option isnt even there.. for gmail I used to be able to open links from emails within gmail without going to an external browser but recently it stopped doing that. I'm running android 10 on S10+, any help? Is there a universa "force links to open in app" setting? (Doubtful on that one) Any help is appreciated, thanks! [link] [comments] |

I hope this is nothing but I have some reason to be paranoid.. I have an Android phone and it is being glitchy lately. I will be trying to type and suddenly the keyboard won't acknowledge my typing. Or sometimes I am playing a game and the touch screen does not work I certain spots. I usually do a factory reset when this happens. Yesterday at around 1pm my phone was flipping through apps super fast on it's own and the flashlight turned on by itself. I did a factory reset. Today at 8:45 am it did the same quick flicking through pages and apps and then called someone I had just recently texted tis morning. Could this be just water damage? Or could this be remote access Trojans? The reason I am concerned is a while back my sister got caught up with some very bad people involved in selling meth and online fraud. When the police called me to pick her up for her protection my camera tried to take a picture of me without me touching it and right after the call. Only some minor glitchiness preceded this event. Now it is back. But there is a possibility of a little water damage because it has been splashed a little from being next to the shower. There is one person affiliated with these people who is particularly interested in tracking down my sister and has started harassing me and other family to try to get her. He has called her using my phone number and sends crazy long texts that imply threat. He's also a meth head. In mid March all the cars parked in front and behind my mom's house had their tires slashed the day before she was supposed to drive my sister somewhere. A week and a half ago my personal Google account was hacked and I got a notification so I changed the password. Two days later I got another notification that my work Gmail account was hacked on the same day. So I changed my password again. I called the police and they advised me to change my Google passwords again and I did. The police seem to not be able to do much. And I don't know how paranoid I should be. I read an article from PC magazine saying the software for androids is really easy to get. If my Google account has been compromised, does this mean I can still be tracked/ hacked again when I recover backed up info after a factory reset? If you're still here, thanks for my rambling. (Blackview X90) Posted: 24 Apr 2020 07:15 AM PDT I recently got a new phone, and another magnetic cable to go with it, all went fine since few days ago when the cable started screwing up, working only at certain angle, suddenly i check AccuBattery and it's down to 87% capacity, weird, i go out to work, come back, charge my phone to 80% and it's suddenly 73%, i charge it again later and now it's 64%, this has never happened to me before?
