[Mod post] Introducing the [OC] tag (properly) Posted: 29 Mar 2020 05:28 AM PDT I made this post a month ago where I shared with you the plan, or suggestion, for introducing a way to highlight original content on our subreddit. Since the number of comments wasn't indicative enough of what the community wanted, I decided to wait before making a final decision, but then people started using [OC] tag on their own accord. That to me was a clear signal of what you guys want in terms of my proposition. I've added an automod config to inform users about the implications of the [OC] tag in the title, and just watched things happen. There's no way to test things like this outside of our community, so what happened was basically me soft-launching this thing. Today I'm addressing it officially, for all to see. [OC] is a complementary tag. This means you can't use it as the only tag in the title, it has to be accompanied by another applicable one. You can use [OC] in the title of your post provided that an element, or its entirety, is made by you. While doing so, please specify which part of your setup was made by you. The [OC] tag does not mean you're exempt from rule 2. While we're not forcing anyone to provide download links to their creations, you still need to list icon packs, wallpapers, etc that you've used unless you have actually made all of it on your own. And I mean all. Most people still use wallpapers from unsplash or other sources, and nothing is changing in this regard. Keep an eye out for a roundup of most voted OC themes, that's partially what all of it is about! [link] [comments] | ||
