    Hello,

    I have been an iPhone user since 2012 and I'm getting my first android phone (S10) tomorrow, useless to say that I'm somehow excited.I stayed on iOS because of the way you can "jailbreak" your phone (seems to be the equivalence of rooting) and the customization possibilities it offers.I'm writing these lines because I need help. I don't know sh*t about android capabilities.I guess I will slowly discover them with the phone in my hands, but I will take any advice I can get.I will illustrate my questions with the equivalence I had on a jailbroken device.

    • Is root access needed ?

    • What are the tools to customize the OS ? (-iOS- Snowboard is a theming engine that allows you to change icon - font - badge - status bar - control center / Xen HTML is an engine to apply widgets on both homescreen and lockscreen)

    • Are tools at the same place / Where can I get them ? (-iOS- Was on the Cydia store. You add repositories of packages in the store, the store offers you the possibility to download these packages)

    • Is there a "dark side" of customization ? (-iOS- you can pirate any package in the cydia store with the right tool / I'm not willing to do so on android)

    • Is everything "themable" ? (-iOS- with the right tool you can change every aspect of the ui - colors - fonts - icons - badge - control center- notifications - lockscreen)

    • Are APK trustworthy or should I stay away from these and only download things only from official stores ?
