| Android Auto: Assistant reinstalling Posted: 21 Jan 2020 10:01 AM PST Probably every third time I plug my phone (Samsung Note 10+, unlocked, snapdragon) into my car with Android Auto (2020 Ford Explorer), Assistant will seem to reinstall. Though I didn't have the vehicle long before the Android 10 update, it never seemed to do that until after the update. Whether the app is in a folder and the home screen is locked, it will often relocate itself back to the end of my apps like a newly installed app. I suspect this might have something to do with a workaround that Google has implemented and the combination with the fact that I have my phone configured to only have a home screen (no app drawer). I have tried clearing the cache and data for Android Auto and Assistant (Assistant only allows me to clear cache). I also tried a factory wipe. Any other suggestions? [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 21 Jan 2020 08:18 AM PST I use my samsung tab A plugged into my stereo and have noticed that the volume needs to be turned way higher on the stereo to hear anything. Then when I switch to the radio it almost blows my speaker if I dont remember to turn it down beforehand. Whats a good audio app that can turn up volume on my tablet/phone without sounding like crud. It worked fine before on my other Samsung phone, but now occasionally it has a delay before starting to work. Once it starts to work it works fine, but if I stop using it for a while it will have the delay again before starting normally. For instance, I will start a youtube video and the video will play for a few seconds, without audio, then pause while it waits for the audio to start. Sometimes it takes a minute for the audio to catch up. Same thing happens with play music and phone calls. Also, it takes around 3 minutes for bluetooth to turn off. [link] [comments] |
| Phone App Not showing missed calls Notifications Posted: 21 Jan 2020 12:32 PM PST Every time I receive a call, the notifications stay on screen for about 3 sec, and them go away. I`ve been missing some calls because of that and thats not ok because I use my phone a lot for work = losing money for that. I`ve heard to clean cache than restart the phone, and clean all apps config in "app and notifications" inside configurations (that is not ok because I loose all my configs about all apps). Even though sometimes it works, I feel like I shouldnt be worring about this with this phone... Anyone experiencing the same or maybe with some clues for me to solve this?? [link] [comments] |

The other day I realized I had text messages that I wanted off of my phone prior to the S7, it's a Moto G. I've read that I can use Samsung Smart Switch to get things off of non-Samsung devices. How would I go about doing this? What might complicate matters (or maybe not) is the fact that I want the old Moto G's stuff to complement what's on my current Samsung S9, not overwrite any of it. Posted: 21 Jan 2020 11:31 AM PST I just got a replacement Note 9 from Assurion (for Verizon), and my new phone does something my old one never did. Every morning, when wake my phone for the first time, a black screen with an image of a lock in the middle comes up that says something like "decrypting phone please wait" (idk exactly, I'm always half asleep when it's doing this) comes up. It takes 2 or 3 minutes to complete the process and it's annoying. More importantly, it seems to make my alarms not go off sometimes. Everything I search on "turn off encryption" or "note 9 nightly encryption" or whatever returns irrelevant results or setup menus that aren't the same ones that my phone has. | Posted: 21 Jan 2020 10:43 AM PST Pixel 3 USB OTG help!I have had numerous conversations with google support attempting to troubleshoot this issue, and each time am given a different absolute reason it won't work. I am using the quick switch adapter provided with the phone to connect a 32GB Kingston 3.1 USB data traveler. The pixel 3 attempts to check the USB after a minute crashes the phone. Here are the 3 separate answers to this issue i was given (after all the troubleshooting).
The problem remains though, that the pixel will attempt to check the usb and crash regardless of being opened by the third party app(FAT32). Or depending on the format it tell me it needs to be formatted then attempt to format and crash (FAT). I cant find a proper solution to this problem, and using the search terms Pixel, and USB bring but almost entirely unrelated topics. Please send help. [link] [comments] |

I want to change the ROM to something ungoogled and use it strictly offline. - to listen to music - calculator -camera?? - voice records - take notes etc. My question is will it improve my privacy? i'm thinking of ditching my newer phone for good and use the old one + a dumb phone for calls and messages (nothing sensitive). The phone model is Samsung GT-S5830i with Android 2.3.6 (I know it isn't supported anymore which affects security, but I want to use it offline, i just want google to stay away from my phone. My memory was full and I needed to make space. I went to my files and use the move command to copy them all to the SD card. But as soon as the copy finished my SD card became unrecognized. I ejected it and tried on a computer and it says this media needs to be initialized. What the hell? Did I really lose all my photos? [link] [comments] |

Like I had a light green set for one and it showed up on my Android at a more dark foresty green. (Right about the green just way off on the type of green) Any advice as to how to fix this? The top picture is how the new Google homepage looks, complete with Google Assistant in the corner and my account signed in. The bottom picture is how it used to look (with me signed in as well). I liked how it had the websites I frequently visited as shortcuts on the bottom. Something which the new homepage doesn't have. I uploaded my work created on Premier to Google drive, and downloaded them to my Pixel 3 XL looking to upload it to different mobile platforms. Whenever i try to view the file on google drive from my PIXEL 3 XL, i see the following green distortion. However Video 2 (note 16:9 ratio) the video beside it, has no issues. 1) it's Premier problem? But I'm able to download both videos successfully without green crap on my old Galaxy S7 and girlfriends iPhone 8 2) it's a phone problem? So I use my phone often for work sending emails and it's recently become a large issue that I can't use my clipboard to paste previous saves in the body of Gmail. When I long press I get 2 options format and paste. and the clipboard option is greyed out. I can use the clipboard in the Title of the email in Gmail but not the body. Any fixes for this? Thanks!
